Parking – Open-air Bar – Garden-tables - all is well looked after and making a comfortable stay with accommodating service (girls). A/C rooms and shower across corridor are all excellent and spacey – marble flooring.

European owned, managed by Thai consort. Definitively positive in every aspect – pricing appropriate. Excellent and discretely piped in music from the sixties to the nineties. Fun, entertaining from midi to mid-night. This is the place where you create your own fun and luck!

Decent enough music and great fun to be had.

Nothing like it use to be. The recent closing of Siam golf club for renovations has hurt it...but worse is what happened about 3-years ago:

A number of golfers (locals) would stop at the Butterfly for drinks and a short time after playing a round. Then, they went home to their Thai wives. One of the wives found out about the Butterfly, via the 'bamboo telegraph' and contacted some of the other wives. They met and decided that the next time the husbands went golfing at Siam, they would go to the Butterfly and wait for them to arrive after their game. In short, the golfers arrived...and...well the shit hit the fan. Word spread and few golfers in relationships would venture to the Butterfly!

Siam Country Club Golf Course is now closed and some lasses have left the Butterfly Bar due to lack of business.

The free food afternoon has been changed from Mondays to Tuesdays.

It seems that the Siam Country Golf club is having a little difficulty recruiting sufficient members and is considering a year off. This is proving a worrying though for the short time bars on the route from Pattaya. The Butterfly Bar in particular takes advantage of those 'just going for a round of golf dear'.

Friendly Aussie run place. A couple of seating pagodas in the front garden, plus seating by the front bar with sensible seat sizes.

There is an outside bar area and an inside aircon area with a brand new Pool/snooker table.

Drinks reasonable at 60 Baht for San Mig Lite for example. Chang 45 Baht , GinTonic 80 Baht , lady drink 90 Baht .

The bar is called The Churchill's Club. It is owned by the same group as The Venus Lounge, Amsterdamaged and a few more I forget the names. It has been open for about a year now.

This Bar is very nicely decorated and is very comfortable, in fact it is like sitting in your own lounge. The building looks like a private house, no problem just walk up to the door and go in.

I have been there quite a few times over the last year and have always had a good time. The drink prices were last time I was there, Soft Drinks 50bt, Bottled Beer 80bt. Short Time 350bt and Long Time 500bt for Bar Fine.

The number of girls varies from 3 to about 6 and they know how to take care of customers.

They do not allow smoking inside but have an area outside where you can smoke.

Churchill's is located just off Soi Siam Country Club. At the crossroads to the crocodile farm, Churchill's is 150m in the opposite direction to the crocodile farm.

The bar fine is 400 Baht not 250 Baht. If you meet up with your girl when the bar is closed for 24 hours the aggressive cashier will still charge you 400 Baht as "she was not in her room". I don't know if this is common practice but it has put me permanently off the place.

Getting to the bar up the atrociously maintained Soi 5 will also quickly wreck your vehicle.

Euro food only available from 6pm onwards . Pizzas are good and all grub can be taken away. Prices for solids and liquids are reasonable.

A new bar has just opened over on the Darkside called KiK. It has been open for about a week now and is having a grand opening party on 19th June.

The new bar is owned by the same group as Dao Bar/Cafe and Papagayo.

On the couple of times that I have been there this week there were about 15 girls most of which were easy on the eye. The bar has been fitted out quite nicely and is comfortable and has good Air Con.

The drink prices are a little higher than most bars on the DarkSide, Soft Drinks 60bt, Bottled Beer 90bt Sprit with mixer 90bt and Lady Drinks 100bt. Short Time 300bt, Long Time 500bt

I have not seen the ST Rooms but the owner said they are finished to a high standard.

I have spent a couple of enjoyable evenings there with good fun being had.

A perfect place for a private binge or a quiet evening of cheap booze....barfines are 200 Baht and girlies are on "dark side" level of pay ie up to you...

The Lucky Time Bar is a haven away from the madness of the major soi's. Owned by a Dutchman named Alex and his wife, they welcomed us and treated us as friends and not just customers they helped make me and my friends holiday

This is a family orientated bar frequented by Expats from all over the world, It is well run and the perfect place to have a relaxed drink with family or friends. The Bar is well airconditioned and has Pool/Darts and Table Football to play, the friendly girls are more than happy to thrash you at the game of your choice.

The food served is fantastic and very well priced as is the beer 60 baht for an ice cold Singha (miss it already)

The girls are a really friendly bunch and there is no nicer feeling than to come down in the morning and be greeted by your name

The Apartments are spacious and very well presented and you have both aircon and a fan all are ensuite with daily cleaning service and towel exchange and most importantly inexpensive

A previous review stated there were no short time rooms this is really not that sort of bar. You are more than welcome to take ladies back to the bar for a drink or to your room

I will definitely be stopping here again next year.

A combination of open-air seating area at the front and a little more private section inside. The pool table gets plenty of use from both customers and girls and is free for customers.

About 12 ladies, two or three very easy on the eye, were on hand to greet customers with the traditional between-the-legs handshake. Lady drinks at 50 baht and soft drinks at 30 baht make this good value.

I went in search of the "farm fresh talent" referred to by the previous reviewer but didn't find any.

Instead I found 6 or 7 reasonably attractive girls attending to about 8 customers. A girl who I wasn't interested in and who spoke no English assigned herself to me. The rest of the girls were busy with regulars and I got a great view of the backs of their heads.

There's nothing here that you can't find in hundreds of beer bars all over Pattaya so unless you live very close by it's definitely not worth a trip.

The turning off the Suhumvit is called Soi Boonsampan - no number on the Soi sign. Soi Khao Noi is the extension after the railway crossing.

Pleasant and comfortable bar with lively, friendly ladies. Quite a few have Thai boyfriends, so watch your step. If you want to talk to the English boss, get there after 6pm. The lady that latched on to me was interested only in learning English and looking for a rich farang aged 50 to 60, so I did not get to see the rooms which are charged at 300 Baht with the ladies quoted at 500 Baht or so for upstairs activities. Bar prices reasonable. Mamasan a bit pushy with lady-drinks. If you get hungry, there is a Thai restaurant next door on one side of the bar and Ed's Chippy on the other.

Its entrance is unpre-possessing but once inside punters must surely be reminded of a standard Soi 6-like den.

It has added a pool table, but games are free for customers. While there were only seven or eight ladies working, they were a typically friendly lot of knob fondlers. Of the four places I visited, Paradise was easily the busiest in terms of bums on seats.

Soft drinks are just 30 baht and lady drinks good value at only 80 baht. Bottled amber goes off at a mere 50 baht during a 6:00 to 7:00PM happy hour.

Been hearing from a couple of people that this place is buzzing on Friday nights. Its not a "proper" girlie bar, but all waitresses are available for EC activities...

The place is quite large with a decent size bar area and sitting for 60-70 people. At the back there is a large swimming pool with a few more tables around it. Apparently the attraction on Fridays is the Live music (A duo composed of a Thai bird and a Seppo Hip-Hop wannabe...Not bad). Customers can join the singing or have a crack themselves, using the Kareoke laptop provided. There is also free scran.

All in all - a very good night! Not a problem to come with your TG, as loads of mixed couples there and not a Girlie bar envoirnment.

Without a doubt the best bar on the Dark Side is Pussy Cat Club. The bar itself is very tastefully done out in white leather chairs & booths, as well as some tables & chairs. The surroundings are fabulous, the bar staff very good and the ladies are excellent.

If you buy a lady drink, the bill shows the normal drink price + 30 baht for the lady.

Customers flock to this bar because of all the good features mentioned.

Seating is comfortable and cosy in the forefront with a dining room to the left and a huge bar at the rear where drinkers can sit and watch the big-screen TV.

The Red Lion has a leisurely opening at 11.00 am when the full range of the pub’s breakfasts and morning snack foods can be enjoyed. The big breakfast comes with unlimited tea or coffee and doubles up on everything, i.e sausages, bacon, eggs, toast, masses of baked beans, all the works. It costs B.150 for a Fred Flintstone start to the day with a smaller one for Wilma at B.110. 

Lots of traditional English options on the menu including: sausages & mash, fish ‘n chips, scampi, and home-made fish cakes, chicken tikka masala. There’s a special kid’s menu evoking childhood memories with offerings of fish fingers, chicken nuggets or sausages with chips and beans to please the juniors. The Thai menu is huge presenting 86 dishes.

Not long after opening, I asked the owner (Adrian) if it was a bar that served food or a restaurant that served alcohol.

He said he had aimed for the former but seemed to have achieved the latter.

Food was quite good for a while then a change of cooks and an increase in prices ran him off my list of restaurants, ie portions and taste not up to the price.

I was pleasantly surprised. Nicely decorated bar which seems to cater for bikers. A pool table outside, 2 Vespas as decoration inside, a couple of guitars hanging on the wall. There is food available.

Scottish Frank and his life-partner Pim have opened the Scotland Yard bar on Soi Khao Dalo. It is located about 1km from Sukhumvit, just beyond the 7-11.

If there is one word to describe Scotland Yard it is "easy". The bar itself and the resident ladies are easy on the eye. The music is easy on the ear. The drink prices are easy on the wallet. Frank hopes his bar will also be easy to find.

Opening early (10am) and closing whenever, Frank will likely be there to greet you when you arrive to imbibe.

  Review from Pattaya Talk, Nov 2007: Ex Jumbo

This bar is owned by the same family as the old Jumbo bar on Soi 11 (now a parking lot).

This is an outside bar and has a free pool table. Heineken was around 70 and lady drinks 90 (or so).

Food is available and the cashew chicken I had was excellent. There were around 6 ladies available. 

A very nice place to spend time and I suspect it relies on the after golf crowd.

This bar has a new owner and in my opinion he is doing all the right things with the place time will tell. They have recently added a pool and a nice little out door area.

Could do with a few more girls and it would be a top place they are certainly trying

Built on a 2 rai piece of land, this western saloon style bar has a great music and entertainment system.

Our big garden has a Jacuzzi relaxing area (free Jacuzzi) and 3 new built rooms with shower and aircon. The garden is full of palms and banana trees so you have absolutely holiday feeling when you stay with us.

We have a big hidden parking area. For all bikers we have a big rain covered bike parking area.

Late night place. A few girls, nothing special, and a couple of half-decent looking LB's. Full UBC Package for sport lovers, decent music and an OK place to have a few. ST room available.

From Pattaya Secrets and tallies with my own observations

• Dancing Girl ... ST 1000 / LT 2000 (assuming good performance). I would suggest that you should be willing to add an extra 500 to the GoGo fee if you get stuck on a model class girl and you find yourself unable to say no.
• Beer Bar Girl ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (quickie) to ST 700 / LT 1500 (for an entire evening of effort)
• Street Freelancer ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (no questions, no exceptions)
• Short Time Bar Girl... Traditionally ST 500 with 250 for the room (+ small tip for good service) but now edging up to ST 700 and 300 for the room
