 Review from Pattaya Talk May 2007: Fish & Chips

The more refined Pattaya visitor like moi prefers number 3 breakfast at Antons.

Selection of German hams and sausages. Lovely pile of crispy white rolls and mixed breads. Scrabbled egg with bacon chopped up inside, pickles and free flow coffee which is excellent.

120 baht and once you've eaten in once you'll be back.

Nightimes in there has a 180 baht buffet which is fantastic. All German food with nice sweets all included.

  Review by Swanks, Sept 2006: Well done that man

Considering the latest owner of this long standing Brit and Aussie enclave has never had a bar before he's certainly getting something right! He seems to be showing the "I've been in this game for 20 years and know everything there is to know" type of Publicans that come here to start a bar, just how it should be done!

The staff are very welcoming and there are some really stunning lookers. They all seem 'at ease' with the management and there is every variation from chubby (MMM, says swanks) to one that easily could be on TV here, she's really that pretty!

The food menu offers both Farang and Thai food and I must admit, it seemed a bit on the expensive side!

One of the lads ordered a sandwich, cleared his plate, and had to go home early that night as he was too full to drink! The portions were just HUGE and he said it was that good he had to eat it all. We tried to help but he managed to keep us at bay with a fork, so serves him right in my opinion!

If I lived a bit nearer I would welcome this pub as my "Local" but there seemed enough people to fill the bar even though other bars on the road were empty!

"Well done that man" I say!

Every time I visit Pattaya I always go to this bar and always have a top night.

Badger would always be there, the life and sole of the place. He seemed to have the balance just right between running the bar in the back ground, whilst being a gent with the customers. Sure old Badger would take a drink off a Falang, but he was not slow in returning it.

But last week he told me that he had been stiffed by his girlfriend and has just had to return to England.

So he's sold the bar to an English fella who's redeveloping the place. It will take 3 weeks before re-opening.

So all I can say is that Badger will be sorely missed in Naklua road, Pattaya.

Will Badger be back? I think so...

Its like a large (semi-permanant) stall but with seating area overlooking the roundabout. Not great but actually quite tranquil.

He mixed me two fantastic cocktails - one that wasn't on his list but was still perfect. Most have 3 liquor shots so at 99 baht they are good value. They are also much larger than you would expect in my previous experiences with cocktails.

You get the works - shaking at your table etc.

It takes a lot to impress me here but this really did.

Came across as a nice friendly 'local' type place. Couldn't complain at the freezing cold 60 Baht Tiger, and although there was no lookers among the 20 odd girls in the place , they were friendly and good fun.

  Review June 2006: Lonely on the Football Field

I popped in for an England World Cup match, but in all honesty I prefer the company of girls to that of a bunch of blokes watching TV.

They had a pretty looking girl serving free chips with ketchup but she did not seem the slightest bit interested in a drink or chat so I hastily moved on.

Seemed a pleasant bar though and there were a fair few regulars enjoying the match together.

 Review May 2006: Chin Chin Girls

A pleasant and German run aircon bar which has established a goodly amount of regulars. The decor and seating etc are good, there's even a nice painting depicting the housewife stripping game show: Tutti Frutti. The good decor extends to the toilets which are clean and well kept.

There were some very pleasant girls on hand during my visit. One even a good grasp of English and was well read enough to make for a very enjoyable evening of conversation... and more.

Bar fine 200 Baht, bottled beer around 60 Baht and lady drinks at 95 Baht.

• Dancing Girl ... ST 1000 / LT 2000 (assuming good performance). I would suggest that you should be willing to add an extra 500 to the GoGo fee if you get stuck on a model class girl and you find yourself unable to say no.
• Beer Bar Girl ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (quickie) to ST 700 / LT 1500 (for an entire evening of effort)
• Street Freelancer ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (no questions, no exceptions)
• Short Time Bar Girl... Traditionally ST 500 with 250 for the room (+ small tip for good service) but now edging up to ST 700 and 300 for the room
