Listing the bars of Pattaya
The following reviews are those that I come across on
the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own
visits. Reviewers may be unreasonably harsh and bar owners may present a
rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at face value...go
and see for yourself.

-5° Supperclub
Lounge, restaurant and club. Drinks are 120 Baht for bottled Heineken.
180 Baht was later reported for a bottle of Singha
From Pattaya Secrets,
Feb 2008: Ice Room
It costs 500 baht to go into the Ice Room (jackets provided) for 25
minutes. During this 25 minutess you can apparently order as many Vodka
shots as you want free of charge.
The Supper Club is an all white room with a sunken bar in the middle
which is encircled by alcoves in which you will find large mattresses to
lay, slouch, sit on. Shoes off of course. In the middle of the mattress
is a small table 6 inches high from which you eat your food. Each
mattress will hold about 6 - 8 people.
The menu is mixed at around 1000 baht for 3 course or 1300 for 4 course.
There is no 'Thai' food as such.
IMO it is a very stylish place that would be best enjoyed with a group
of friends.
...and a few very beautiful service girls
From Pattaya Secrets,
Jan 2008: Electro/Funky
I went to this fantastic bar the weekend. The music, mixed by a live
DJ is really electro/funky and the ambience is truly unique for Pattaya.
It felt very Japanese in as far as you take off your shoes and chill
out on these really comfortable big white sofa’s. The whole room is
bright white but the special design of lighting ensures that the colours
change every few minutes.
A great place to take a special girl, I wouldn’t recommend you go
with your mates. The drinks are pricey, B120++ for a small bottle of
Heineken, but don’t be put off by that, its truly worth a visit.
From -5 Supperclub, Jan 2008:
Style Conscious
Enjoy Chef's latest creations, while relaxing on gigantic beds of
pure white with colour changing lights. Mouthwatering fusion food, is
served ‘in bed’, with cool music and style-conscious staff, setting the
mood.
After 10pm the volume is cranked up and the lights down, for the perfect
atmosphere to party the rest of the night away...

2 Donna Bar
New beer bar for August 2007
Review from connections of Two Donnas, March 2008:
Very Welcoming
The two partners are Joy and Dow who are at the bar every day and
night, they will sit down and introduce themselves to all new customers
and are not shy about buying a drink (or accepting one!!). Both are
pretty well known in Jomtien and seem to know everyone that comes in or
passes the bar.
No pool table but all the live English Premier League games are
shown.
Prices are lower than most bars, (except next door where drinks are
almost given away) beer 50-70 baht, shorts pretty cheap and lady drinks
are the standard 90 baht.
Loads of girls, 15 at the moment, nothing too stunning, but a few are
pretty cute all can talk English, some young some not so young and one
Katoey, all the girls are pretty good crack and up for a laugh,
especially if you go inside the bar and close the doors.....
The younger cute ones disappear most night before 10.00 so get there
early for a better choice
Barfines are the standard 300 baht, no ST rooms but the girls will take
you round the corner if you want,
Verdict, nice atmosphere good reasonable priced drinks and a good bunch
of girls with two owners who will make you very welcome.

3 Angels Bar
Opened in August 2006 replacing DMTs
News from
Pattaya Secrets,
August 2006: Angel Showers
After several weeks of renovations, 3 Angels has reopened on the site
of the now defunct DMT's on Soi 6. from the outside, you wouldn't really
notice anything different. Signs have changed, girls haven't.
Inside the main bar, it still looks pretty much the same. Mirrors with
Xmas lights around them remain. New sofas and wall treatments and the
addition of a big bike on display (presumably the angels in the name are
more to do with motorbikes than celestial singing)
DMT's, like most Soi 6 bars, had shit rooms, shit beds, shit showers and
shit lighting. Not anymore. The new Dutch owner spent the money where it
counts: In the bedroom. New entrance, new doors, new walls, flooring,
everything. Looks like a proper Western-style budget hotel now.
Gone is the communal shower with the half-working hot water and
obligatory bucket. Now each room has its own shower with good water temp
and pressure. There is inset incandescent lighting and new beds and
mattresses.

Abbe's Bar is great for chilling out and they play some great music

Rag, Oct 2007: Massive Stable
Amazing Paradise Bar has a massive stable of girls and flat screen
TVs. Not sure which there was more of....
The majority of lookers were pulling punters in from the street and
sadly that's what they continued to do once we were in the bar.
Company in the bar was provided by a more mature group of ladies. We
managed to grab the sofas by the entrance and it was a good vantage
point for watching the girls out front and the girls passing by.
Don't want to appear fussy but I would rate only 3 or 4 of the
girls as being worthy of my dosh.

Alex, Nov 2007: A Morning Drink
On my arrival to Pattaya I always make a bee line to Anna Jets.
This bar is consistent and the girls very friendly and always new
girls on the scene .
I often enjoy a morning drink there when everywhere else is quiet.
One bit of advice if you find attractive girl don’t hesitate bar fine
quickly as turnover is fast. My friend is still lamenting the girl and
love of his life he missed. He went back to his hotel to change and on
his promised return she was gone. A fine well run watering hole.
Recommended.

Pattaya Secrets
August 2006: Change
Paid bill with a 1000 note by giving the 1000 note to the girl I was
about to go with. Next thing I know, I'm getting presented with the
bill. I look and say Yeah, ok, take it out of the 1000 and give me my
change. Lady looks at me and says you no pay yet.
Even AFTER my girl who works there vouched for me and said yes, I did
give her the 1000 baht note, no one made any attempt to give me any
change. They tore the bar apart looking for the 1000 note. After about
10 minutes of this, they just gave up and went about their regular
business, which is fine, except I still had not gotten about 600 in
change. So, I say nicely to the cashier, where is my change? She says,
let me explain to you the problem we have, which is we can't find the
1000 note. I say, look, I understand you have a problem, but right now,
its your problem, not mine. They grudgingly give me my change.
Review from Pattaya Chat
March 2006: Loud
I think it's already been agreed the rooms are shite but aren't the
women in there fit. I went in there 1st time and have been in there a
few times since. Never barfined from there though. I probably would
barfine a girl from there if the music wasn't so loud and I could
ascertain whether the bird speaks English or not.
It's definitely worth a visit if you don't mind profound deafness for
the next 3 hours.

February 2006: Total Madness
Indeed this bar is a regular venue of mine for hiring overnight
employees. The double fronted shop style bar has a pool table TV and a
few tables set inside the bar which is open to the Soi. It benefits from
it's own toilet and is well stocked with girls. Not always stunners but
I have had some very good girls from here, one or two I have kept in
touch with for a few years. The bar makes an effort with theme evenings
where the girl dress in unison, the SKA night late last year was great,
total Madness!

Armageddon has a dart board and pool table out the back, a giant TV

attractive and reasonably friendly girls. Just like 500 other joints in

attraction. Marty is a medium-length freshwater crocodile thankfully
confined to a tank.
Drinks in Armageddon are reasonably priced and this is one beer boozer
that can at least lay claim to something a little different.

Atlantic
Bar
Beer bar
Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Beautiful Ladies
Now, I haven’t been to The Atlantic Bar for a couple or three years,
since it’s supposed heyday, but I keep in touch with what’s happening on
various Forums, including Thai-Anxiety, and consensus has been that the
Atlantic is in decline, and that the few remaining lookers there believe
they have ‘pussies spun of the finest and purest gold thread’ and hardly
give a punter the time of day.
Well, I have to say on entering the bar, I was pleasantly surprised!
There were probably 25 girls in attendance, and this was around 21:30,
before the ‘superstars’ can be assed to turn up for duty, and there were
some very attractive ladies on view, all resplendent in clingy white
dresses, or other very tight white clothing. I am not sure if they have
a different colour scheme for each night of the week, I will have to go
back and check, but the overall effect on Tuesday was quite dazzling!
We positioned ourselves in seats between the pool tables and the bar
to get a good panoramic view of the lovelies and ordered a couple of
bottled Heinekens, which came at a reasonable 70 baht a bottle
considering the eye candy, we had a drink in Anna Jet in Soi 7 last week
and they charged like a ‘wounded rhinoceros’ for the same libations,
with nothing anywhere near as good to look at pulchritude wise.
Perhaps true to form we weren’t hassled by the beauties, but I am the
sort of guy that is happy to buy lady drinks for any lady I choose to
buy for, but don’t enjoy being pressurised into doing so by unwelcome
attention. We stayed for a couple more and enjoyed the view, so overall
I felt it was still a good place to sit and drink, and feel for sure if
you were a regular enough guy and took a little time to get the know the
stunners, there would be no problem in negotiating ‘extra curricular’
activities with the hostesses. Good service, reasonable prices, and
beautiful ladies, what more could a man ask for?
Notes from Pattaya forums, Dec 2007: Girls
on Top
This must be one of the most talked about bars in Pattaya. Some
people love it and some people hate it.
Clearly the pretty girls are in charge about the selections and the
lucky guy are probably fans of the bar. The unlucky guys then probably
hate it and probably waste a fortune in lady drinks in the hope that
they can get selected by the girls.
Many of the girls have followed manager Patrick to U Too bar a couple
of blocks south on the same road.
Review from Ryan, Dec 2006: White and Blue
Tags
You have two types of ladies working here, the ladies wearing white
tags cannot leave the bar as the are solely to work in the bar, I found
these ladies friendly, as a matter of fact I have made two really good
friends from this type of lady from the Atlantic Bar.
Then you have the ladies with the blue tags, you can barfine these
women. Also the owners Boom and Johan are good hosts and do a lot for
you, it is especially good if you wish to watch a sporting event.
Review from Carl, Nov 2006: Collecting Lady
Drinks
Found a few crackers here nice girls very friendly and accommodating.
After talking to a few girls they told me they do like collecting lady
drinks then they like to disappear near closing time to go dancing down
walking street.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
May 2006: All at Sea
Most of the girls at Atlantic can't even be bothered to notice you
exist. Once you've got a drink in front of you, you might as well be
invisible at this bar.
It wasn't just me, mind you. One time I was there, the guy next to me
had something like four ladydrinks in front of him. He was sitting
alone. Why? because the girls were too busy talking to each other on the
other side of the bar! I couldn't believe it. Every now and then one
would sidle over, take a sip of her precious drink, and head back to
chat with her friends.
I had thought I was ignored on my first visit because there was a
football match on and perhaps the girls had been instructed not to chat
up customers who were watching the game.
Not so. The second time around, I was still ignored, but at least I
didn't buy four ladydrinks for non-existent ladies like the poor sap
next to me.

Review from Pattaya-Live
May 2008: Good prices and friendly girls
The girls there are always friendly and enjoy just playing the
games and trying to entice a farang to take them home. They are
however choosy and the mama does not pressure them to leave with
anyone. Good prices and friendly girls what more is there to ask for?
Review July 2006:
Watching Out For Own
Goals
I randomly selected the bar for a bit of World Cup viewing. I chatted
a while to a friendly Australian but he departed in search of an
Australian Rules football match rather than the World Cup.
England were being a little boring so I opted for a bit of people
watching. The girls seemed to be enjoying themselves watching the game,
chatting or playing the dice game behind the bar. They were a distinctly
average crew but there were four decent looking girls that were posted
as welcome girls.
I spent some time looking out for some potential customers to walk
past and to be 'welcomed in'. I was wondering whether the attractive
welcome girls would pair off with the newcomer or whether the newcomer
would just be dumped with the average girls behind the bar. (And then he
would, no doubt, take one beer and leave pronto).
My theory will have to wait for another day though...there simply
were no customers to be seen. When it started raining cats & dogs
I had to abandon the research and return to the strikerless England
display.

Review from

February 2009: Price Hike
It is reported on the forums that the bar has come under Russian
influence perhaps explaining the hike in beer prices to 140 Baht per
bottle.
Still crowded though with crammed in seating and aging free lancers.
Must be doing something right though. Especially if they can get away
with a toilet fee.
Warning Dec 2006: Check you Bin
The place was busy, and bustling and the waitresses were rushed off
their feet, however it appears that almost anyone can order a drink and
have it directed to someone else's tab, and if you don't notice, that
then becomes your tab.
February 2006:
The Thai girls really love this place as the band often plays Issan
love songs which they really get into. It's certainly not an ear
blasting go-go or disco and would probably be best described as a
cabaret venue. I really enjoyed my visits here as I could always have a
conversation with the the lady I was with, but I must admit to cringing
a few times when the resident Thai band attempted a cover version of a
well known western song - Their rendition of the Beatles "Hey Jude" is
just one memory that comes to mind
December 2005:
For the older members or for those who like older mature ladies. The
music not bad but not load like it should be for a disco. The ladies are

This is one of my fav bars it is like my local away from
home. Towards the 2nd Road end of Soi 8 across from the U2 bar. Again a mixed
bag with the girls but is made up for by the friendliness of everyone in
the bar. The toilets are shared with the bar next door and are mixed
clean but will cost 5 baht. I find it a great bar for me what counts is
the staff and how friendly they are well worth a visit anytime of
night/morning

Review by Swanks, Sept 2006: Well done that
man
Considering the latest owner of this long standing Brit and
Aussie enclave has never had a bar before he's certainly getting
something right! He seems to be showing the "I've been in this game for
20 years and know everything there is to know" type of Publicans that
come here to start a bar, just how it should be done!
The staff are very welcoming and there are some really stunning lookers.
They all seem 'at ease' with the management and there is every variation
from chubby (MMM, says swanks) to one that easily could be on TV here,
she's really that pretty!
The food menu offers both Farang and Thai food and I must admit, it
seemed a bit on the expensive side!
One of the lads ordered a sandwich, cleared his plate, and had to go
home early that night as he was too full to drink! The portions were
just HUGE and he said it was that good he had to eat it all. We tried to
help but he managed to keep us at bay with a fork, so serves him right
in my opinion!
If I lived a bit nearer I would welcome this pub as my "Local" but there
seemed enough people to fill the bar even though other bars on the road
were empty!
"Well done that man" I say!

Reader review, Dec 2006: Bee There
A few changes seem to have occurred in this bar over the last year. The
main one is a stock of new pretty girls. The general atmosphere in the
bar definitely seemed different from all other bars down the street when
I visited it.
The staff are polite and friendly. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
You can go and have your fun nearby with your new "friend" then come
back and relax in the bar and even have a game of pool on the nice
slate-bed table.
If you want to listen to your favourite song you can be your own DJ
on the computer disco system. It's definitely worth a visit even if you
only want to play pool against their resident Thai lady pool hustler.
She will out-drink and out-play you time and time again!

New German themed bar with live band opened April 2008. So far a hit
with Russian couples
Review from Pattaya Secrets,
April 2008: Cold & Russian
On entering two things immediately hit me. Firstly aircon, it's
colder than the Big C cinema! Secondly Russians!
The place has been really nicely done , with a mixture of tables and
chairs, and stools at bars, around a centre stage area.
Only two choices of beer, Erdinger on draft and bottles, and Heineken
on draft only, and prices were pretty reasonable.
On the stage, a 5 piece band were playing, they were all Russians,
playing Russian songs. The band actually came across as very
competent.
I did speak to one of the Thai waitresses, and she confirmed that the
bar has been set up by Russians for Russians.
So why make it look German?

Beer bar opened June 2006, previously Stoney's
Review by Steve, Feb 2007: Latent Heat of Fusion
Formerly known as ‘Stoney’s’, this bar was sold to a Thai lady in May
2006. This is the same lady who own the other two nondescript bar beers
on the corners of the cross formed by the junction of Walking Street
with the alleyway leading to Happy-a-GoGo and Living Dolls.
Unfortunately, she has managed to work some of that ol’ Thai magic and
convert Stoney’s, which was previously a friendly, homely sort of place
into yet another nondescript bar beer, complete with a coat of cheap and
nasty Jack Daniels gloss black paint and a ‘Jack Lives Here’ sign.
The bar used to have a system with two different categories of ladies
working there – the service ladies and the entertainment ladies. The
former brought you drinks, while the latter would chat with you in
exchange for a lady drink. This system worked very well, and made
Stoney’s my favourite watering hole, but it has been abandoned by the
new owner in favour of the more usual service-ladies-only system. As
long as they are not busy, you can still chat with the waitresses, but
you can’t count on their company unless you bar fine them.
Another great feature of Stoney’s was the draft beer served in frozen
double-walled glasses, so that the beer actually got colder as you drank
it. Perfect for a sweaty tropical evening. Of coursem, they still have
draft beer, and they even have a few of the glasses left, but they are
kept with the rest of the beer nowadays and so are no longer frozen and
thus don’t ‘work’. I’ve tried explaining about the latent heat of fusion
to the staff on several occasions, but they just think I’m totally mad
now.
The bar also used to have its own toilet, but the new owner quickly did
away with this nice facility as it costs money to run of course. So now
you have to join the other punters queuing for a pee in the 5 Baht bogs
across the way.
When the bar changed hands, they fired all the staff, so all the ladies
I knew were scattered to the four corners (literally, one lady ended up
in Chiangmai!). I still drop by occasionally for a drink, but it is a
shadow of its former self. If you didn’t know it in its heyday though,
you would probably think that it is a decent spot for a drink.

News Dec 2006: Going Up
Now 600 Baht all in
Review by Swanks, Sept 2006: Best
Bargain in Patts
Sometimes a bar "Comes into its own" Almost by accident really!
Billion suddenly has been transformed from a 'no hoper' into a very nice
and welcoming watering hole! I do suspect it is more by accident than
design, but it really has a lot going for it now!
Drinks are not 'rock bottom' but ok! Lady drinks not anywhere near
Walking street prices!
But the policy of just charging 500 baht at the bar for girl and room
must make them one of the best bargains in Patts! Tip the girl if you
want to but it doesn't seem to be expected and the girls are just as good as anything I have seen on Soi 6!
The whole place has a nice 'Pub' atmosphere and you can enjoy a relaxing
drink at the bar and chat to the 'Chinese' owner and mamasan, and stroke
her small dog which often sleeps on the counter! The mutt has an uncanny
facial resemblance to her but don't tell her I said so!
If it gets on your nerves, sort of, give it a bit of a shove! Just tell
mamasan it fell! Lands on all 4 paws like a cat!
I'm going to get the little sod pissed next week! It's sort of taken
to me now so it should be a laugh!
Enjoy!

friendly prices and good music played at a reasonable volume.
The theme of the bar is unique and we hope to become the home of those

Review June 2008: No Kisses
I drifted past the girls out the outside beer bar and smiled at an
attractive girl. Unfortunately my selection was trumped by a senior lady
who was definitely not to my spec.
I asked if she would mind sending in a younger girl and I think she
took umbrage. Then just as storybook characters warn you to take care of
what you wish for, my replacement girl was young and pretty but totally
uncommunicative. Proved a total waste of time and there will be another
age before I visit again.
Review from Pattaya Addicts
Jan 2008: Glass and Mirrors
Very nice bar - all glass and mirrors and a good pool table. Most of
the girls though are not exactly top notch. There is one real stunner
but she is often rather umm...... busy. Worth a try though - if you see
her you will know the one I mean.
Review Sep 2007: Snubbed
The bar has now created a beer bar immediately outside
of the main aircon bar. But in need of the aircon I skipped past the
girls and a reasonably attractive girl followed me in.
The bar is large but was only catering to 4 stalwarts
at the centre bar.
My hostess was totally not interested in my attempts
at conversation and she eventually drifted off out of boredom to rejoin
her mates outside.
I finished my beer and left pronto...noting to
avoid this unfriendly bar for the foreseeable future.
January 2005:
Re-opened after renovation
November 2005:
Choose your lady carefully in this bar !
The skinny, incompetent wreck of a "girl" I went upstairs with must have lifted some grey ones from my meagre
wallet.
The sole upstairs room is very grotty, next to a building site and
the stairs to it are almost vertical. The shower is off the short time
room and is also crappy.
If you insist on a visit - TAKE YOUR WALLET with you into the shower
room. Better still - there are many other cleaner and cheaper places
around than this German run bar.

The
Blues Factory
Music bar. If you have only one night in Pattaya to catch a band,
then this is the bar.
Drinks are 140 Baht for spirits and 95 Baht for soft drinks. Bottled
beer 120-135 Baht
There is
a happy hour until 10pm with draft beer at 50 Baht and other drinks at
100 Baht.
News from Blues Factory, August 2008:

News from Blues Factory, April 2007: Nung

guitarist called Nung previously from The Rock Pub in BKK and he is
joined by Lam Morrisons original band.
News from
Stickman,
August 2006: I'm Alright Jack
If you like Jack or Pepe you’ll love the Blues Factory on Mondays and
Wednesdays. The Walking Street bar has two new promotional nights thanks
to a deal Dave made with his liquor suppliers.
Monday will be "Pepe Lopez Ladies Night" night with Pepe Lopez Tequila
at 1,200 baht per bottle or 50 baht a shot. As it's also Ladies Night,
there are lucky number draws with various prizes including Pepe Lopez
stuff and a top prize of Thai Gold. Music by The Blues Machine starts at
9:30 PM.
Wednesdays are "Jack Daniels Rock Night" with Lam Morrison; bottles
of Jack at 1,500 baht (including a JD t-shirt) and Jack Daniels with
mixers at 100 baht all night.
Autumn 2005: Fine Bands
First and foremost this is a music bar hosting two very
fine house bands. First up is Snowman, Mary & The Blues Machine.
They play blues, rock and pop standards from the last few decades.
The
second set is from Lam Morrison and the accent is then on rock. Again
well worth the price of a beer. (The Blues Machine takes Wednesday off
and Lam takes Monday off)
There are hostesses on hand for those
that prefer to enjoy their music in company. But there is no hassle if
you are there purely for the music.
However expect the toilet jockey to hassle you for a tip. Why on
earth do bars employ those who do nothing but put people off the bar?
Happy hour drinks until 10pm. Expensive thereafter, 130 Baht for
bottled Heineken. (Hopefully it is expensive so that the bands can be paid a deservedly
good fee). 135 Baht for brand name mixers. Previously there was a dance floor but this has been
replaced by tables and seating to avoid being classed as a dance club
which then attracts higher drinks taxes.

Review April 2008:
Environmentally Friendly
A soi 6 with a mixture of entertainments. The bar has an outside
section complete with pool table and also an inside section featuring
little but the typical sofas.
The girls are a mixture too from Soi 6 stalwarts to innocentish
newcomers.
The bar has something against electricity so don't expect aircon or
much in the way of lighting.
Review Jan
2007: Short Time Karaoke
I was drawn in by a pretty girl who was a little hyped up by the free
flowing fun from a party.
The bar has dedicated most of the available floor space to an outside
beer bar area. However there is a an inside portion too. The desire to
escape both the party karaoke and the hot evening area spurred me to head
for the aircon.
There seemed to be a lack of traditional Soi 6 sofa seating. There were
stools at the bar and single easy chairs. Nothing to stop amorous couples
doubling up but if they chose to sit in a chair each they would be
uncomfortably distant from each other.
But of course short time bars succeed or fail depending on the girls on
hand. And on this particularly occasion the bar proved to be a big
success.

Review from
pattayagogoguide.com June 2009: On the
Up
The popular mamasang Sandy aka Nong (aka little lady with loud voice)
has started back at Buffalo Bar, so the standard of girls will be going
up again. She has been away for 7 months and it shows in the bar.
They even have a proper plastic Thai recruitment banner outside. Even
the famous Chicken (Gai) is back, but sadly only as an early shift
cashier.
They have recently renovated the ST rooms, with new beds, aircon and
hot water.
Review from Pattaya Talk
Dec 2008: Barely Worth a Visit
I have always liked the Buffalo Bar...but it is now only barely worth
a visit.
But still a good drink value only 75 baht for drinks during peak hours.
There seem to be three types of ladies at the Buffalo Bar now,
over-the-hill, brats, and nasty-looking.
Many ladies seem too old to be working there, over 40 years, and it
is kind of annoying having to waive so many of them off.
The 21ish go-go dancers seem to have a Las Vegas style arrogance.
I also saw 4 or 5, heavily tattooed ladies that looked nasty.
In all, not the nice ladies that used to be there.
New Dec 2008: Refit
The notable Buffalo Bar on 3rd Road is nearing the end of phased
improvements and is now refitting its short time rooms. Previously they
had been condemned by customers if not Pattaya council hotel inspectors.
News from Pattaya Secrets
Nov 2008: Renovation
In the past weeks, they have put up full height mirrors on the
remaining walls, hung international flags over the bar, wooden pailing
(fence) on the outside hedge walls onto Soi Vinai and tonight put up a
Gogo type spinning light ball on the ceiling.
During the "Closure" period they were working hard in the bar to
finish off the upgrades. In the bar they have repaired seats and
replaced the seat cushions, changed the Podiums again with colourful
lighted bases.
Next they will upgrade the upstairs slum rooms.
Review, thanks to PGGG, Jan 2008: Prices
Lady drinks are 75 Baht. Barfines are 400 Baht for hostesses and 500
Baht for coyotee dancers with an additional 75 Baht if no lady drinks
has been bought.
I hear the Coyotes are 800 Baht up until 10pm, as no dancers mean the
customers don't stay in the bar as long, which is a fair view by the
management to protect their beer sales.
Receptionists BF is 600 Baht IF THEY GO OUT, which most do not!
The girls rates are more gogo than beer bar.
Note that there are convenient ST rooms and the price is included in the
ST barfine (which is rarely mentioned, as they want to hit you for the
LT rate and have the evening off. It also helps them meet their "Off"
target). If you pay the ST rate the girl has to return to the bar when
you are done.

Short time bar with expensive lady drinks at 140 Baht
Review July 2008: Bullshit
Lured in by a suitably good looking girl, but then things went
downhill a bit. The girl was a little demure but was friendly enough.
I ordered a lady drink and then noticed that the bin hadn't yet
appeared at my table for my beer. The lady brought back her drink but
still no bin. I asked the girl to bring the bin and had a look. The Thai
whiskey & coke lady drink was a whopping 140 Baht. No wonder they
weren't keen on showing the bill.
I asked the girl and she reckoned that she will only receive 20 Baht
of the 140.
Somehow put me off the business in hand and I went in search of
another bar more deserving of my trade. A bit of a shame as I didn't
find another girl as deserving of my trade.
Review May 2008: Friendly Cows?
Always seems quiet but they seem to have a few pretty girls on hand.
I have always been looked after well in the bar
There is a computerised music system with every track known to man.
They allow a bit of naughty stuff in the bar but they make of a play
of shutting doors and standing guard. Easier just to retire upstairs.
Review April 2007: No Bull
There's no bar theme linking the bar with either
Spanish bull fighting or even the Birmingham shopping centre. No, just a
typical small soi 6 bar complete with the usual 2 person sofas.
My drinking companion reckoned that the bar was Thai
owned.
The bar seemed well run and the bar tabs were fair
with bottled beer going for 70-75 Baht (strangely two prices for the
same brand of beer though!)
But as always, merits in this type of bar are down to
the hostess of choice. My selection was eloquent, witty, pretty and
suitably enticing so the bar was therefore a hit.

Review from Dave, May 2009: Under
new management
Under new management since the start of the year and it is now run by
a Kiwi guy and his partner. Completely new set of girls since my visit
there last year.
There were about 7 girls there ranging from 5's to 7's out of 10 and
contrary to the previous comment, I would have been able to bar fine any
of them, the girl must have been having a bad day.
Not as good as it used to be but the new guy will probably be trying to
find his feet as he is new to the Pattaya scene.
At this point in time, I would just call it an average bar.
Review Feb 2009: Knocked Back
There were few girls at the door, but one was good looking so I
thought I would give it a try. But the cutie refused to come in with me.
I hope the Soi 7/8 trick of keeping the prettiest girl on the door isn't
coming to Soi 6.
Probably the girl was just being picky. Anyway to avoid having my ego
sapped again I will give the bar a miss.
Thanks to Jay, June 2008: Volume
The bar tends to have the music volume set too loud for interviews or
conversation depending on how you look at it. Requests to get it turned
down granted but it wasn't long before the volume would edge up again.
Spoilt a good chat with a cutie.
Review from Funseeker, June 2008:
No Urge to Leave
I have just come back from Pattaya and what a time I had, in fact it
was the best holiday I ever had.
Was made very, very, welcome at the Bus Stop bar, in fact I spent most
of my time there (woo hoo) I never felt the urge to leave Soi 6 in the
night time as it was full of beautiful girls.
I travelled around Pattaya but Bus Stop was the best place and prices
were good at Bt500 short time and Bt1000 long time, if you wanna stay
there it is only Bt650 per night
Beers were Bt80 and the Aussie owner (Dave) was a great bloke who told
me the best places to go in Pattaya and he even showed me them
personally (fantastic).
Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Butterfly Bar
Short time bar eventually re-opened after a couple of month's
police closure. Intermittent opening at the beginning of 2008.
Review from jj, July 2006: Fly In
Butterfly Bar is an all too typical Soi 6 ST bar. Nicely appointed in
wood and tile with comfortable sofas and discreet cubicles, it is a
perfect example of mediocrity and the paramount importance of the staff.
The current owner seems to have sunk a fortune into the place, but no
matter how attractive the decor, no matter what the owner's intentions,
the ladies in residence are the key to return business.
The curtains on the cubicles showed promise of special things to come.
False alarm. Our ladies-of-the-hour were attractive, funny and
talkative, but generally non-responsive, allowing a minimum of grab and
tickle. Some bars have a complete lack of ambience but fun girls. Fun
ladies trump decor any time.
Butterfly reportedly has a staff of 10 but on this week night only 6
were in evidence. They reportedly are all non-salaried free-lancers so
the "go upstairs" refrain was all too frequent. There is an unused tiny
dance platform immediately inside the door. We were offered 'a show' for
a 1000 - a bit steep when the ST BF is a mere 300.
Rumor has it that there is a new owner in the offing. I, for one, would
hope that he has a gimmick, a way to break the Soi 6 pattern. For one
thing he should ban the ladies from wearing jeans. Perhaps even
institute a uniform of sorts that better advertises the available
assets. An agreement with the ladies in residence for a pay-to-play
closed-curtain "show" priced somewhat below 1000, would be one possible
way to integrate the available decor to attract customers. Unless he
finds a way to make Butterfly stand out, it will simply remain a
nondescript ST bars in a city full of nondescript ST bars.

Sept 2008: Best on the Dark Side
At current state of affairs, the best bar on the Dark Side(Girly
wise), by some distance too. Long and very dark bar (all indoors i.e.
aircon). No special effects, as the place is predominantly short time
haven.
24 girls currently on the books with some real cuties.
Decent enough music and great fun to be had.
Review from OutForABeer, May 2007: Doesn't Care
Butterfly always seems to change. Some days the staff
seems happy, other days not. I have been the only customer in the bar

Decent music and aircon. Clean rooms available.

the owner doesn't care whether or not he is breaking any records for
business
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
June 2006:
Bamboo Telegraph
Nothing like it use to be. The recent closing of Siam golf club for
renovations has hurt it...but worse is what happened about 3-years ago:
A number of golfers (locals) would stop at the Butterfly for drinks and
a short time after playing a round. Then, they went home to their Thai
wives. One of the wives found out about the Butterfly, via the 'bamboo
telegraph' and contacted some of the other wives. They met and decided
that the next time the husbands went golfing at Siam, they would go to
the Butterfly and wait for them to arrive after their game. In short,
the golfers arrived...and...well the shit hit the fan. Word spread and
few golfers in relationships would venture to the Butterfly!

Siam Country Club Golf Course is now closed and some lasses have left
the Butterfly Bar due to lack of business.
The free food afternoon has been changed from Mondays to Tuesdays.
February 2006:
It seems that the Siam Country Golf club is having a little difficulty
recruiting sufficient members and is considering a year off. This is
proving a worrying though for the short time bars on the route from
Pattaya. The Butterfly Bar in particular takes advantage of those 'just
going for a round of golf dear'.

Review May 2009: Coyote Bar
The downstairs bar at Byblos features half a dozen coyote dancers.
They were a few pretty girls amongst them.
Byblos gogo tends to target non farang customers with its upstairs
bells and whistles show and the same applies to the coyote bar.
I sat with a friendly dancer for a couple of drinks but everything
was a bit prim and proper for my likes. Saying that, there is a
curtained off seating booth but I didn't give this a try.
The drinks were reasonably priced.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
August 2006: Very Very Loud
We unanimously agreed that we hated it. The music was VERY, VERY loud
and the drinks were overpriced (e.g. a ladydrink was a mere 120 Baht,
for example. Barfine 1000 Baht for dancers, 500 Baht for hostesses).
While the overall layout of the place seemed OK (attractive colors,
etc), the music volume and drink prices need to be dropped dramatically
before I will return. There were probably some cute ladies in there but
I was going cross-eyed due to the music pounding its way through my
head.
Yes, I like to visit discos (which are loud too) but at least the loud
music has a lot of space to reverberate within Marine and Lucifer's,
whereas this place was rather small and there was nowhere for the sound
to be absorbed/distributed. It was just too much and I don't think I
even finished my drink before leaving.
Review July 2006: For What?
I was dragged in by a pretty girl who I have previously met in
numerous gogo bars.
The venue is dominated by the stylish central bar. Bottled beer there
was 95 Baht but the lady drinks were a stonking 150 Baht.
The bar has a small side stage for a dancing girl in disco wear.
At a 1am visit there were not many customers nor girls and I was not
quite sure what was the point of the bar. The dancing is not energetic
compared with Casino next door and the smart set have not yet been drawn
in for late night disco frolics.
Perhaps things will be clearer later, but on this visit I just
contented myself with a chat with an old friend and moved on before the
bar tab bankrupted me.

Coyote Dancing Bar. Seems to do well out of keeping drinks prices low

Review by Pattaya Ghost June 2008:
Not a Pickup Joint
Started more than two years ago, Casino was the first of the coyote
bars and still packs in the crowds late every night. Khun Tee, who also
owns Diamond a Go Go just down the soi, designed Casino with two floors,
intending to have coyotes downstairs and a disco upstairs. The second
floor never took off, however, so now everyone crowds into the smallish
ground floor. It has a high square stage in the middle with room for
four dancers, plus the occasional Thai guy on bongo drums. The entire
place is well done out, with a cards and casino theme.
The only gambling you’ll do there, however, is trying to actually get
one of the very tidy coyotes to pay attention to you. Casino is
definitely not a single-man’s pickup joint. Most dancers rush off stage
to towel off after their set and tend to gaggle together in the corners
rather than mix with customers.
The first year, in fact, Tee didn’t allow the coyotes to be barfined.
If you wanted to see if the object of your desire could perform the same
moves in your hotel room you needed to wait until 4 a.m. or so when the
bar closed for her to go with you.
By popular demand, however, barfines were instituted at 1,000 baht, the
first Pattaya bar to go that high (and, sadly, not the last). But
considering these woman are all under 30 and dance (aerobics style) 30
minutes an hour for about 8 hours a day, they are definitely fit. You’d
be hard pressed to find any who rated under an 8 on most people’s
scales.
The music in Casino is classic coyote: techno, house and a smattering of
remixed hip-hop, all played at levels that make conversation difficult.
Drinks are reasonably priced at around 110 baht for mixed drinks and 95
baht for bottled beer. Casino is also a late-night bar and doesn’t
really get started until after midnight.
News March 2007: Bar Fine
The bar fine in Casino was reported to be 1250 Baht
Review Dec 2006: Popular
I was dragged in by a party of girls and it really is not my scene,
but I have to say that the bar is very popular.
There's plenty of dancing going on onstage and off, plenty of
customers and plenty of coyote girls eager to play hostess whilst
waiting for their dancing stint.
The music was loud, but people seemed happy enough and could just
about converse enough to get by.
Maybe the key to its success is that it is one of the few bars that
cater for groups of friends rather that the gogo majority which cater
more for singletons. Also the drinks prices are standard Walking Street
prices as opposed to the exorbitant prices charged by some of the other
late night dancing venues. Drinks around 95 Baht
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
May 2006: Bloody expensive
We decided to check out Casino Club for one, famous last words as we
stumbled out of there at 3am. Did have great fun in there, and some sexy
girls. Bloody expensive though as I discovered when I paid my 1000 baht Barfine...
Great night, really enjoyed the atmosphere in Casino.
Review from Kevin, February 2006: Cool!
The Club has been done out very well indeed!, the decor is very, very
tidy!, there is a square raised podium in the middle of the floor where
the dancers perform, normally 4 of them, one facing each corner of the
club!, one I recognized from Superbaby, another from Paris A-gogo .
Sometimes one of the guys gets up and plays a small set of drums to
the music , the girls love it!, and it gets the crowd going .
It is not the biggest place , but god I was surprised how nice it
was!, the main hostess is a darling, always comes and says hello!, will
always buy a round for those that stay and drink a bit! and really makes
you feel welcome!. The girls cannot be barfined, but I was seeing one of
them!, only problem I had to wait until 4am until she finished!
All in all I found the place a breath of fresh air!, great look,
great sound, and a really nice bunch! I normally live in Heaven above,
Living Doll 1 & 2 , Happy or Peppermint, I am a A-gogo lover!, but this
was cool!

Nightlife Roundup
Review
2006: First Fetish
Fun Town's first fetish establishment, called
The Castle, opened its rather imposing heavy door for business in late
December 2003. It specifically caters for those whose tastes in fashion
run to whips, chains, PVC, latex, and leather.
The place was opened by the same French management
who operate a similarly-named fetish joint in Bangkok. The gear, which
also includes nurse and schoolgirl uniforms is being supplied by Pattaya's
premier fashion house Boutique Sexy (their showroom is in Naklua Soi 33).
In order to get punters in the right sado-masochistic
mood, the first drink in the place will set you back 900 baht. All drinks
after that are just a trifling 200 baht. The management stress this is not
a drinking bar; it is a place for like-minded people to come and indulge
in their favourite fantasy. To really keep the screws turning, there is
definitely no copulation on the premises, no matter how excited you might
get over the sight of a couple of latex-clad damsels beating each other
with an overripe cucumber. If you want to engage in something un-natural
like sexual intercourse then fork out the 1,500 baht bar fine and take
your leather feather duster and your lady back to your place.
The Castle has a dress code of which the colour
black is one of the necessary component parts. It opens at 5:30PM and
closes at 2:00AM and at present has a staff of around 14 dominatrixes/submissives
who have been trained by an Englishman. A lady drink is a suitably
humiliating 250 baht, but the
bar has a strict policy dissuading damsels from asking for a libation. The
choice is completely up to the customer.

This is a down-to-earth local pub with a quality pool table, dart

Fun, relaxed, great beer, great company and a brilliant landlord.

A very good local pub type bar with aircon. lots of Brits use it as
well as Aussies and Yanks and the odd German so a good mix- usually has
girls and its interesting watching the comings and goings to the silom

Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Hurry Away
I will always take a seat and order a beer no matter what, rather
than turn tail and flee if the bar is full of dragons, first
impressions can be deceiving, and there could be hidden gems just out
of line of sight. However, on this occasion first impressions were
100% correct, and the bar was staffed with some pretty ordinary girls.
Now, the reason for picking The Cherry Bar was that it was owned by
one of my all time favourite ex-TQ1 dancers, Khun Tom and her equally
lovely sister, and used to be staffed by a fairly attractive young
crowd of girls, sadly no longer! I don’t know if they sold out the bar
or not, but I realised my error of choice, drank my bottle as fast as
I could, and check binned even though it was my mates turn to pay,
never looked or cared about the prices, just wanted away in a hurry!
March 2006:
Personally I like the Cherry Bar
on the corner of soi 3 and second road. Nice girls and atmosphere. That
would be my 'must visit' bar everytime.

The victim suffered swollen face and a serious wound on his head.
Several of his teeth were also knocked off. His girlfriend, told police
that the owner of a bar and an employee beat up Greenwood.
She said the bar owner alleged that Greenwood refused to pay for a
bottle of beer priced Bt170 but the tourist argued that he was
overcharged.
The bar was identified by the Thai language report in the Nation

Good looking bar with high quality ladies but they are asking top

From Chicaboom, Sept 2008: Plans
The plan is to do a quality British breakfast from 8.00 am and also
offer good food throughout the day.
Midday we have at least 8 ladies all dressed in uniform eg
nurse, secretary etc, these girls will dance, serve and be very willing
hosts to our clientel.
Short time rooms are available and we think it will become a good
funtime place to spend the afternoon.
Nice seating area outside if you fancy a quiet beer. Evenings will be
very much the same same with more stunning hosts and we may try some
live music.
All major sporting events will be shown on our 3 lcd screens and to
stand out from the crowd we have a 10 foot long hdi projector with all
the surround etc , giving out an awesome experience.

Review from Dave May 2009:
Definitely worth a visit
I was welcomed by the owner (Alan) who was a great source of info
while I was in Pattaya and a hell of a nice guy as well.
There was 4 or 5 girls there ranging 5's to 8's out of 10 and they were
all very friendly.
Great little bar, good pricing on beer with a large selection of some of
the best Malts (prices on the bottles, so no surprises) and the place
seems to come alive at night.
I stayed there and the rooms were very good (Bt500 per night) and
cleaned daily but if you want something more up market, he also rents
out condo's over towards Jomtien). No problems with taking girls from
other bars back.
All in all, definitely worth a visit.
Review June 2008: Drinker's Pub
The smallish bar has a lot of character, especially for Soi 6. The
owner is clearly passionate about his drinking and his military. The bar
is decorated accordingly and the bar is also stocked with an enormous
selection of drinks. Perhaps from the Scottish connection, I assumed
that the array of bottles would be mostly whiskeys, but there is
actually a wide selection of all drinks.
Most of the seating is focussed at the bar so perhaps there is not so
much opportunity for canoodling. But there are a fair amount of girls on
offer.
My companion for the evening was very attractive and was very good
company. It also made a change that she was a cider drinker rather than
the more usual Thai Whisky or orange juice
Later on the evening the bar became pretty full, with what I assumed
were regulars, as everyone seemed to know everyone.
I can see myself joining them.
From The Clansman May 2008:
Spirit of Scotland
A Scottish themed bar. We offer over 50 different types of whiskey,
malts and blends, and a huge selection of beers and ciders. Our fully
stocked spirit bar also offers a selection of draught beer.

make you feel more than welcome.

Classroom A-GoGo
It itself a gogo but the dress code is coyote, with skirts, knickers,
tops and bras. Beware of expensive draft beer
Review June 2008: Gone Coyote
The bar calls itself a gogo but the Thai-Anxiety definition of a gogo
is that there should be dancing girls wearing bikinis or preferably
less. This bar no longer qualifies as all the girls wear skirts,
knickers, tops and bras. The style is Britney Spears school wear which
my provide some recompense for the lack of showing.
The dancers were a little below average. There were about 20 girls in
the bar of which 4 or 5 were dancing on stage.
The beer price was way above average at 100 Baht for a glass surely
smaller than a bottled beer. Strangely the other drinks prices are not
so expensive with most choices being in the 100-120 Baht range. There is
a happy hour for afternoon drinkers though until 6pm
There were a fair number of customers in the bar so all can't be too
bad. But nobody made much effort to get me to stay very long. I probably
had a scowl on my face from the 100 Baht draft beer.
Review by polleke Oct 2007:
Consistent
The bar seems to be very stable and seems to hang in
The bar still remains the same, although I found an improvement on
the line-up since my last visit. There were plenty of average girls and
a couple of better looking ones.
Not so many customers.
My friends loved the place, especially the schoolgirls outfits. The
girls were very friendly and up for a chat and a bit hands on fun.
Just a well run agogo and one of the longest running ones in Patts.
I myself was remembered by a girl I barfined 7 months ago. Those girls
have long memories.
Review Aug 2007:
Going Strong
The bar seems to be very stable and seems to hang in
there despite not keeping up with the opposition. There are no Jacuzzis,
no table dancing stages, no shows, no nudity and no touchy feely girls.
However the bar maintains a cast of about 25 girls
that shuffle in shirts and skirts. There were 5 girls on stage making
for a 5 song dancing stint for each girl.
There were some attractive girls amongst the dancers
and they would eventually make contact with the customers. Although it
did seem that they preferred to conclude their chat with fellow dancers
first.
Drinks prices are on the high side considering the
lack of entertainment on offer.
The bar is decorated with military emblems and badges
so presumably it comes into its own during the likes of Cobra Gold.
I m not really sure why but I guess the bar will still
be going strong when others fall by the wayside.

off as a single shophouse and used to be packed most nights. The
schoolgirl uniform theme was a hit with most punters. Mr Scot has been
at the helm of the meeting and greeting duties in the Classroom since
the beginning, making him one of the longest-serving managers in
Pattaya.
Review Dec 2006:
Overdressed
The bar features gogo girls with the most clothes in all of Pattaya.
The uniform consists of shirt, bra, substantial skirt and
knickers. It must be the only bar where the girls don't have to don a
t-shirt to visit the nearby food stands.
The girls dance 4 or 5 at a time on a central stage. There was an
absence of pretty girls but there weren't many that you would run away
from. There were probably about 20 girls in the bar.
The decor is dark and the walls are adorned by military
paraphernalia, badges, crests, emblems & jokes.
The bar was not quite as quiet as I had expected, nor were the drinks
prices quite as I high as I had feared.
Actually if the girls were to take off a few clothes then the venue
may be worth another visit...but I feel this will make for a long wait

Review Sep 2007: Kitsch
I was strangely drawn into visiting the bar on the
back of bad reviews. Sometimes one needs to get a little perspective.
But as it turns out the 'badness' turned out to be
more bad taste than anything. The decor is surely a little 'retro' or
maybe just cheap. The dodgy looking fixtures and fittings maybe
emphasised the latter option.
But none of this proved much of a problem when beset
by a team of girls intent on getting up close and personable. They
weren't really quite top notch but they ensured that the stay was
pleasurable enough.

Stylish coyote dancing bar opened 1st February 2008.
Review March 2009: The Lonely
Man Blu's
I have walked past many times and it is half tempting to
have a look just because the bar is so well presented. It is also half
tempting to have a look because there are always a few attractive girls
milling round the entrance.
The coyote dancers are split in two teams, one teams
dances whilst the other has a break.
The other attraction is that for a 'stylish' bar,
the drinks prices are very reasonable.
When it comes to entertainment, you really have to bring
your own. There were several clusters of people enjoying a chat amongst
themselves but there is not much entertainment on offer for the single
visitors.
The girls dance no more energetically than a decent gogo
and of course are well overdressed to boot.
The girls didn't seem at all interested in any
hostessing or chatting to customers (save for a Japanese guy who popped
in).
It seems pretty much the same for all coyote bars. They
attract the girls who don't really want to do the naughty stuff like in
the gogos. The coyote bars generally pay well for the dancing talent and
so the girls are therefore happy enough without needing to put out for
tips and the like.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
Dec 2008: No Go
The bar seems to be getting a reputation for dancing girls that
don't barfine. If that is your intention, perhaps best to ask before
investing in lady drinks. Plenty still do go though.
Review from Materialsman, Nov 2008:
A Warm Sort of Blue
I know this bar
has been open for quite a few months now and has been well received by
the public, so well received in fact that allegedly the original owners
sold out recently for an astronomical figure of baht, but this was my
first opportunity to visit the bar. First impressions? Very impressive
actually, the décor works very well, the blue light in principle would
appear quite harsh, but in fact it’s a warm sort of blue light that
really enhances the place. I think that if I was a wealthy in the Hugh
Heffner style, I would definitely have one of the rooms in my mansion modeled after this club, and constantly stocked with pretty girls! I
wasn’t too sure about the spiral steel staircase by the door mind,
seemed a little rickety for my liking, I suppose that the ‘resting
rooms’ are up there, as opposed to the ‘rest rooms’ which are downstairs
on floor level, but I wouldn’t fancy traversing those stairs if I was a
little bit worse for wear, or physically drained after ‘resting’.
As for the quality of the women, well of course that is always a
purely personal viewpoint, one man’s stunner is another mans woofer,
there were around 25 ‘ladeez’ present, and I would say that there were a
few 9’s amongst them, mostly 7’s or 8’s though, I heard that when it
first opened the line up was far more impressive, but as in any similar
business in Pattaya, it’s hard to keep your best girls for any long
period due to sponsorship, marriage, better offers from other bars etc.
Miss ‘M’ was quite a package mind you; I enjoyed her little turn on the
podium just inches away from me. I equally enjoyed my time in the bar
immensely, the drinks were very reasonable at 70 baht a bottle, the
atmosphere was friendly, the clientele were well turned out and smart,
and the Tequila Shot girl was to die for, those black 4” stiletto heeled
boots coupled with the Stetson hat and skimpy denim shorts, think Daisy
Duke and you would be close, was my abiding memory of the place, and she
well deserved my first and only 100 baht tip of the night, I shall be
back! If I had to make a comparison to the Honey Pot which I thoroughly
enjoyed last week, I would say that if you combined the two places, with
the décor of Club Blu and the current line up of the Honey Pot, you
would have a license to print money, which in actual fact was pretty
much what Club Blu was earlier this year.
News July 2008: Expensive Bar
Fines
The bar fines for dancers have been raised to 650 Baht. 400 for
hostesses.
Lady Drink Blog, April 2008:
Looking In
I strolled past Club BLU and the lighting is very effective. One's
eyes are drawn towards the coyote dancers and the near perfect view of
the rest of the bar.
It must be the most un-private bar in all of Pattaya. Sure there are
lots of open bars, but this one positively grabs the attention and
simple makes one peer inside.
There are advantages and disadvantages to an open bar. If the bar is
popular and has plenty of pretty girls then surely the owners want to
show it off.
As it was with Club Blu I walked on by, there were plenty of pretty
girls dancing but most of the customers were sitting on their lonesome.
It made for a cold looking atmosphere. Now if there had been a private
area I my have come to the conclusion (right or wrong) that that is
where the action is and popped in to see for myself.

News from Pattaya Talk,
Feb 2009: Ibiza
The vast majority of the crowd who go there now just seem to go there
to dance ‘ibiza style’ to monotonous music and drink expensive drinks
rather than for P4P.
Most of the guys are not interested in the girls – I went there a few
nights and I saw many guys come there just to jump up and down by
themselves or with their mates and then go home.
This situation has not been lost on the girls who now tend to hang
back from approaching guys and don’t hang around long in there.
News from Pattaya-Live,
Nov 2008: The New Place
The new place is large bar down stairs, very chic, DJ's & open from
8pm every night, they have a couple of pool tables & loads of space.
Upstairs is the club, open from 11 until 8am, it looks like it could
hold around 700 people, is huge, high ceiling, loads of air con, sounds
system & lighting system are top notch, has a raised VIP area with own
bar, they clearly spent a few bucks building & decorating the place.
My first impressions of the place: I think they have done an excellent
job of creating a proper super club in Pattaya, they have really raised
the bar & I reckon it will be a free lancers's heaven within a very
short period of time.
Review from

Dec 2007: Impressed
Was impressed by the friendly welcome and service. It
was just after 1am and still fairly quiet though which spoiled the
atmosphere somewhat. After about 30 seconds a hostess sat next to me who
was fairly good looking so I ended up buying a ladydrink.
The coyote style dancers provided good eye candy and
there was some seriously good house music being played, probably the
least 'cheesy' of anywhere, hope they keep their good DJs.
It's another fairly new smallish place and presumably
still building up it's customer base too.

Review April 2008: Enticing But
Unsatisfying
The bar seems to be under new management with a fair few girls on
welcome duty dressed attractively in pleated skirts and blouses.
I was enticed inside but it was a bit of a waste of time, the girl
was simply not into anything that naughty uniform may suggest
Review Oct 2007: Same Same
I first ran into one of Kevin's places when it was the Fresh Orange
in Pattaya. Found a lovely lady there that I kept the rest of the trip
and then ran into several times later. I got some insight and found out
he had a hard time keeping ladies. Hard boss to work for at cost to the
running of a good bar.
I paid a visit to the Jomtien bar on my last trip. Same Same.
March 2006: Frayed
Tempers seemed pretty frayed and it was not a pleasant environment to
drink in. Maybe just a bad evening.
Review from jj, March 2006: Cosy Corner
The Cosy Bar is on the outside of Jomtien Plaza across from the
Hanuman Statue circle, is an interesting and variable place.
It is a bit odd how the personality of some bars depends solely on
the gals who work there while others have dominant managers who keep
things on a more even keel. Cosy Bar is the former.
When the website was constructed a few months ago, the crop of girls
pictured there were cute and extremely friendly. Somehow they have all
wandered off. The current crop of 4-6 are considerably less fun.
Owner Kevin's livelihood seems to be predicated on his pool nights
and Brit pool-playing pals. Everyone else who finds the bar is 'profit'.
He also has never figured out how to open the email on his website, so
don't bother asking a question.
One unique element of Cosy Bar is the 'cosy curtained corners'.
Just past the pool table and inside the bar are two bench-seat areas
with curtains. Inviting a couple of gals into the 'cosy curtained
corner' can be an interesting experience, just short of an short time
room visit. They tend to be very un-inhibited behind the curtain.
Cosy Bar can be a fun evening or a total bust depending on who is
working or still available.

Comment by Paul, May 2009: Take
Care
This is the second time that they have short changed me. I will not

Review by Steve, Feb 2006: Moderately Cool
A busy place with loud music, it
can get quite crowded. Lots of ladies working here, far too many it
sometimes seems. Very variable quality too.
They seem to have a problem keeping their beer cold
enough for my tastes. ‘Heineken yen yen’ often results in a modestly
cool bottle of beer. But given the number of ladies, as long as you will
buy them a drink you will never be short of someone to talk to here (or
at least practise sign language with).
Too many mangy dogs around the bar for my liking, but
you get a lot of traders passing through and this is a good place to buy
pirated DVD’s. Or Rolexes. Or just about anything else. You only get bar
stools to sit on at the tables, or even less comfortable stools if you
sit by the roadside (too much noise and too many exhaust fumes).
Compared with the comfy cushioned seats available in many
other bars in this area of Jomtien, I am always surprised how busy the
place is.

Review from Pattaya Chat, Feb 2007: Value
I know it is not the classiest joint you can find, and
his TV adverts probably put off as many people as they attract, but it
was actually rather good and incredible value. He does an English
breakfast at 60baht and one he charmingly calls the 'Fat Bastard' at
100baht. I had the Fat Bastard and it was very good. It came with tea
and toast and butter and had everything: bacon, 2 sausages, 2 eggs,
black pudding, fried bread, mushrooms, beans etc the lot. Incredible
value at 100 baht. And quick service as well.
Looking at his prices Crazy Dave's must be one of the best value places
in Pattaya. Certainly, worth a trip up the soi if you fancy farang food
in the middle of the night.
Oh yes, 'Only Fools and Horses' was on the big screen TV whilst I was
there.
March 2006: Cheap Chang
Best thing about it is the atmosphere (feels like it's been there for

Review from Pattaya-Live,
Sept 2008: Back on Track
After 5 months in the doldrums when smoking was banned - the place is
back on track. Not yet back to the hay days of mid 07, but its
definitely coming around.
A couple of new birds, a few of the good old ones and Mon the eternal
cashier - all know how to have good times. Girls are usually at least
half pissed, and happy to serve. Decent fodder from the restaurant
(Pizzas recommended) . Music is PROPER SHYTE though. Same old songs,
repeated endlessly. ST rooms available.
Review from Pattaya Addicts,
Aug 2007: Great Joint
For me The Dao bar on the darkside is a great joint at the moment,
15-20 girls, opens about 1pm till midnight, ST rooms available and
Heineken only 60 baht a bottle, this bar is a bit similar to the inside
of the Jade House is probably best way to explain it for those of you
who haven't been there.
Review from Andrew, Dec 2006: Cafe
Rates
Last visited this month (December). The ST barfine IS still 250 but
its a room hire rather than a BF as the girl will remain in the bar
after the deed.
The previous poster was either diddled (with lol) or paid the LT rate
but I can't confirm what that is.
7 or 8 girls in attendance all nice looking with at least 2 being
exceptional.
Review from David, July 2006: Barfine
Policy Not Fine
The bar fine is 400 Baht not 250 Baht. If you meet up with your girl
when the bar is closed for 24 hours the aggressive cashier will still
charge you 400 Baht as "she was not in her room". I don't know if this
is common practice but it has put me permanently off the place.
Getting to the bar up the atrociously maintained Soi 5 will also quickly
wreck your vehicle.
Euro food only available from 6pm onwards . Pizzas are good and all grub
can be taken away. Prices for solids and liquids are reasonable.
Review from jj, July 2006: Surprise
Agreement
Swung by DAO Bar on a weekday afternoon. I'd agree completely with
the "nice surprise" review. This is a cozy little bar with accommodating
if not overly responsive girls. I asked about the unused pole in the
middle of the room. Was offered a "show" for 500. Seems awful steep when
BF is only 250!
3 of the 6 girls were completely engrossed in the large screen TV. My
lady-of-the-hour insisted on echoing our conversation to her compatriots
hiding behind the bar. A little disconcerting but otherwise innocuous.
Shows a bit of promise and will be on my list of places to revisit but
not high up.

The Dennis The Menace beer boozer is certainly cleaner and fresher than
most of its rivals in Fun Town and offers a good happy hour. Their
advertising says 'Campanologists welcome'. Yes, I had to look up the word
as well: it means bell ringers. High season usually has plenty of two-week
millionaires prepared to turn campanologist with very little urging, so
Dennis and his damsels should be doing OK.

Beer bar, replacing Palace Bar, opened in May 2006
Review May 2009: Recessionary
Blues
The bar seems to have suffered a bit from the recession and seems to
have lost the girls who had any interest in looking after customers.
Presumably any with enthusiasm for tips and extras have rapidly moved on
to Pattaya which has done a better job in retaining a few customers.
They now have a bunch who are more like restaurant waitresses who
prefer to stay at arms length rather than get friendly with the
customers. I think they would prefer it if you would drink alone and let
them get on with their chat with the other girls in front of the bar.
Best bet is probably a game of pool as they can enjoy that without too
much effort.
Bottled beer is 75 Baht
Review Dec 2008: Consistent
The bar is proving to be one of the most consistent places in Jomtien
to find a friendly girl who also knows how to make customers feel in a
good mood for a little upstairs entertainment.
Review Nov 2008: Expensive Room
A very friendly girl made for a pleasant stay but they charge a
barfine of 200 Baht in addition to the 1 hour short time room charge of
300 Baht. Seems excessive to charge a barfine for just an hour away.
Most similar bars don't do this.
Review April 2008: Geared for Pool
I have popped in a couple of times of late and found a pretty girl or
two for a chat.
The bar suffers a from a lack of comfortable seating as it seems
geared up mostly for pool players.
There is a convenient short time room but be aware that the staff
bang on the door punctually when your time is up.

The hostesses were what you’d expect of any Soi 8 boozer, but the

30 baht for sang sum coke, 30 baht a beer.
Although I do agree with a small bit there are a few idiots and low
life’s in the bar, t also as a good bunch of colourful characters
drinking there, hen all the other bars are empty this place is full it
is still one of the best afternoon bars in patts. I have always had a
good time in the eagle I have been drinking there for years, only in the
afternoon though
Review from Chris, May 2006: A Bit of
Banter
I would like to add that the eagle bar was sound when I was there. I
found it the best place to chill and have a drink in the day. I didn't
take any of the girls from the bar as I knew that I probably wouldn't
have then gone back again the day after (me being bit of a butterfly!).
Just didn't want to miss out! The girls were so easy to get on with and
unlike other bars conversation went past 'take me with you' or 'buy me
lady drink' they could join in a bit of banter as good as the English
lads sat around. Brilliant bar can't wait to see them again
March 2006:
My favorite daytime bar is definitely Eagle Bar. Singha 40 baht,
Heinie 50 baht 24/7. When I'm in the mood, sangsam coke is 40 baht.

Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
Feb 2007: All Veterans
This used to have some lovelies but
sadly disappointed... Around 8-10 girls... all veterans... Had a chat
with two of them... very funny and pleasant... but about as sexually
stimulating as Mrs Doubtfire... They admitted most of the ''sexy'' girls
had gone away with farang or gone home already....
Jan 2005:
The Harley bar is big. It looks like an old
fashioned Western themed bar you might see in Arizona. They have 3 or 4
pool tables in the back. If you decide to take a girl, there is a 150
baht bar fine and 200 baht for a ST room in the hotel. The rooms are
nice since it is a relatively new hotel. Red silk sheets.
I asked the girl how much and she asked me why
I was asking and then quoted 1000 Baht (going rate is 700). They had some
good looking girls though
July 2004:
Suffered the uninvited and ego sapping attractions
of the oldest woman in the bar who would not go away even when given the
cold shoulder treatment. Only option is to leave. Why on earth do the
managers allow this to happen. Never again...even though it is my local
short time bar.

Review by Swanks,
Sept 2006: Turned Down Turned up Turned On
The management have listend to there customers and reduced the volume
(With a brilliant Philippina Band).What a joy!
Eight of us enjoyed a really good Sunday lunch last week . Drank too
much, eat too much, and did a bit of fornication!
Really nice to be able to go back there!
Review by Swanks, August 2006:
Speaking Volumes
I think the free food on Sundays idea is great! Some pints with the
lads. A laugh and a joke with them and the girls. Great fun, and if
someone feeds you as well....What more can you ask?
The management, very kindly, have employed a really good live band
and have kept the drinks prices at the same level. Are we ungrateful
enough to say something if wrong? Well just one thing really.
The music volume puts an end to any hope of a conversation. I am sure
the band are really good and I enjoyed hearing them play, FROM OUTSIDE
SCOOBYS!
There is anything up to 10 of us who "Turn out" on a Sunday. WE like
a laugh, a joke and a bit of fun with the girls! If they give us a few
snacks in a place---Ex-pat heaven. We tried taking refuge at the very
back of the bar only to find some prat had put an even bigger speaker
there!
The waitress couldn't hear our beer order the first time. We had a
stroke of luck then and the band finished its set, piped pop music at
the old Coyote level, great!
Then some total moron turned it up to an even louder volume than the
band.
Exit ,stage left, to Scoobys to spend our Baht there and listen to the
very good music from the new Jomtien sanctuary of peace.
El Coyotee is a bar , er conversation and a laugh with your mates if
you know your market. Not a night club or a go-go bar. Before you ask!
Most of the diminishing customers were older than our lot!
Review by Swanks, April 2006: Good Luck is
Extra
Very well patronized by the local Ex Pats but not the least bit
unwelcoming
to visitors.
Short time rooms are 400 Baht and the girls go from 500 Baht but some
try to be silly on price, just laugh and say nothing and they stop being
so silly. One even told me it was good luck to give her 2000 Baht Short
Time....er...yes! I must admit that was a new one!
Beer 55 Baht and service with a smile.
Autumn 2005:
Seems to be associated with a yacht club and
the Mariner's Rest hotel, but
this is not obvious when walking by. The bar is English owned and/or
managed It is quite a large bar with a pool table, various forms of
seating and a large circular bar. There seem to be about 8 girls
waiting on customers. They are an average crew. There was absolutely no
pressure to buy lady drinks but I can't say there was much enthusiasm to
earn them either. Draft
Tiger beer 50 Baht, lady drinks 90 Baht There is a free Sunday barbecue.

Review Nov 2008: Motorway Service
Station Style
I am occasional visitor to Soi 4. My last intended visit was
curtailed when my mate said it looks more like a motorway service
station than a bar or Thai restaurant so we ended up in the more
traditionally Thai Cabbages and Condoms next door.
The latest time I stayed for a couple of drinks. For the cost
conscience the bar does a perfectly good draft beer for 45 Baht in a
decent sized glass so no probs there.
But really the bar no longer looks or feels like a bar any more, just
a rather large eaterie.
Review May 2008: Restaurant
Prices
The food has always been pretty good, never been the cheapest, but
decent enough quality and large portions and again my Beef hot pot
didn't let me down, no complaints what so ever with the food.
Now the drink prices. They must have doubled the prices, a can of coke
60 baht and a bottle of Singha now selling at 95 baht. Doesn't even have
air con.
News Jan 2008: Restaurant
Expansion
The bar area is now completely restaurant seating. Unfortunately it
looks a little like motorway service area seating. There is a live band
though, to up the stakes.
News Aug 2007: More Works

Tony has put a lot of effort and money into the
spectacular design of the place.
It's biggest problem was a complete lack of customers.
I ordered a draught Singha, cost was 180 Baht and it was quite warm,
drank it and left.
It's still fairly new and suffers from being a bit out
of the way. Maybe I was there too early and it gets busy later on? It's
not that big so wouldn't take many punters to make it seem busy. Music
was hiphop when I was there but I'm told there is a variety played.

Sept 2008: Marble
By 4 pm the place was heaving. It's a large air conned bar inside
with plenty of sofa's and comfy bar stool everywhere and with a huge
"terrace" outside with tables and chairs.
The place is wall to wall marble, including the toilets which are the
cleanest I've ever seen. They also have "smoking rooms" upstairs.
Drinks were served by one of about a dozen lovelies.
All bottled beers were only 40 baht!
Review from Pattaya-Live
June 2008: Whiskey
Nice big double unit with all-marble floors and very nice
(hotel-type) black marbled toilets. A real clincher (for me) was the
great sofas inside with matching leather footstools....extremely
comfortable. I'm not a big beer drinker personally-but at 40Baht for all
beer (even Heineken), it's hard to beat!
The Cognac/Brandy selection was something to behold...I don't know of a
better selection in Pattaya! Some horrendously expensive stuff, but if
you pick through the pricelist, the Hennessy VSOP at 100/baht a shot is,
in my opinion, not bad value at all. All cocktails, (Singapore Sling/Mai
Tai etc..) are only 100 baht.
Single Malt Whiskey/"Good" Blends, is my drink and they had a few nice
choices. It wouldn't be up to the standard of choices that are at the "Whiskey,Whisky
Bar/soi 6"....but not too bad nonetheless! Some great deals caught my
eye.......... MacAllan(12 yr)-150 baht Glenmorangie(10 yr)-130 baht
Johnnie Gold-150 baht
Review from Pattaya Pages
Sep 2007: Cheap Drinks
Definitely a place for cheap drinks (Gin only 60 baht, and bottled
Heineken only 40 baht!) but sadly, the girls didn't really catch our
eye.
Review Aug 2007: Plush Sofas
There were about 8 hostesses available in the bar, of
which a couple were good looking. Unfortunately the lady that attached
herself to me was not to taste so this was definitely a one drink visit.
I had to try one of the big plush leather sofas but in
the end maybe these are not such a good for a hostess bar. My hostess
sat opposite and the seats are so big that the distance triggered body
language of being standoffish. Looking around at
a couple of guys who were enjoying the company of the hostesses, they
were seated at the bar stools. Maybe a lesson for next time.
But the bar is very attractive and the drinks prices are
very reasonable at 40 Baht for bottled beers.

Get a Chivas
Bottle of Chivas (the cheapest item on menu) - 1200b
Fruit Bowl (not optional) - 200b
Ice and Cokes, Soda - 60b each
Fortunately, the girls will drink from your bottle, but some will keep
asking for tequila (250b/shot).
You can buy beer instead of a bottle of liquor, but this will be
expensive too, plus you will have to buy drinks for girls
On the bright side, the girls are the most beautiful you will see in
Thailand, or Asia for that matter (excluding perhaps Japan), and they
have literally hundreds.
If you did not drink the bottle you can take it home and come back
another day, they won't charge you again, but will still have to pay for
fruit and mixers.
Review from Pattaya Addicts,
May 2008:
Get a Bottle
Beers were 140-200 and cocktails ranged from 250 up. If you go, order
a bottle of something cheap and some mixers for 60 baht and it's not
really that expensive. A bottle of Chivas is like 800.
The girls ranged but there were a couple of stunners and quite a few
very good looking ones. Be careful as there are some post-op ladyboys
working in there and it can be very hard to tell them apart from the
other girls. The main reason being that so many of the girls there have
had a lot of surgery on their chest/face and look like ladyboys as well.
The girls can be barfined by talking to mammasan. You work out the price
with her but I have no idea what the costs are.
They've got two rooms. One has dancers and DJ music, the other has a
live band with girls dancing between songs.
The wait staff was a bit pushy about ordering drinks.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets:
Wallet Slimming
Reportedly the latest venture from the people that ran the popular
but ill-fated Route 999.
Aimed primarily at Hi-So Thais with two rooms, a DJ Club and Fashion
Club.
The DJ Club has a large stage also overlooked by a large balcony. The
decor is good and the sound system is impressive.
The Fashion club features coyote dancing and has private booths. The
girls are said to be very pretty.
The beer selection is limited to bottled corona at 250 Baht a knock.
Lady drink tequilas are also 250 Baht. There also seems to be a very
expensive policy of having to order a tequila yourself to drink with the
lady. The Thai norm of ordering a bottle of whiskey for a group seems to
be the way to go here.
Barfines are reportedly 15,000 Baht but I would take this as meaning
the dancing girls aren't barfinable rather than anyone being expected to
pay this amount.

There were only 4 or 5 girls in the bar and they made no effort
whatsoever to even look round to see if I wanted company. But the bar
does say 'no hassle' on a sign as you go in so perhaps the hostess

Review October 2006:
Dangly Things
Not one of the most intimate nor the most comfortable of the soi 6
bars. It is a single shop house bar with mostly stool seating rather
than the more usual sofas. There are actually 3 sofas at the front of
the bar but these were not being used for any particularly naughty
purposes. This is probably down to a lack of privacy. The front door is
shielded from passers by only be dangly things. The back door onto Soi
6/1 was open with plain glass anyway.
The frontage of the bar was decorated by half a dozen pretty looking
potential companions. The lack of an intimate bar area seemed to make
for even more undue haste to 'go upstair' than usual.
The bar features innocuous music at low volume and prompt service
with standard prices. The toilet was clean and well looked after.
The rooms are out the back, into an
eatery, up the stairs, grotty landing area, not a terrible room but
crappy shower and only cold water. 300baht, 700 baht for the girl

sound systems, (notably the noisy Family Best Bar opposite). Thirdly the
enclosure keeps out the street hawkers who can be very annoying indeed
on Soi 8. The new bar is well designed with an outside entrance area
for the smokers. There is bench seating for those that prefer, but of
course plenty of traditional stools.
There's dancing poles for the girls but there is not a continuous
coyote show. And of course the bar still has its internal loo which is
always a plus. Perhaps best of all, good bars attract good custom
which in turn attracts pretty girls. There were 3 or 4 that would
otherwise escape to the better Pattaya gogos. I particular loved the
girl that could puff out her chest as if a cartoon version of Marilyn
Monroe.
News July 2008: Re-Developed
The Golden Time beer bar has re-opened after a fancy looking
redevelopment. It looks to have taken a bit of inspiration from the
recent Party Bar re-modelling.
Review April 2006: More
Golden Times
The lively owner and manageress, Fon (pictured centre), seems to
put more effort into welcoming the customers than most nearby bars. The
bar is always popular as a result. Golden Time has now expanded into
the next door bar which was always relatively quiet.
One of the features of the Golden Time is the chrome pole which is
used for occasional dancing and also for a climbing challenge. The fit
and athletic are invited to climb the poll and write their name on the
ceiling. I am sure there are suitable rewards for success and penalties
for failure.

Good Fellas' Bar
Short time bar with mixed girls & lady boys
Review from
Pattaya Pages,
June 2006: Good
Probably spent more time in GoodFellas than anywhere else, but the
good looking girls are snapped up early. Well thought out bar,
attractive, good seating, clean. Haven't used their short time room
though.
November 2005:
A couple of the girls out front seem to have developed deep voices
presumably from the large amount of 'welcome handsum man' calls uttered.
Anyway I didn't hang around to investigate further, plenty more bars in
the gauntlet.
I feel a bit sorry for any naturally husky or tall girls in Soi 6.
Given that one has only a split second choice as one passes, the height
and voice is a high priority filter for me. But on the other hand the
lady boy's seem to do well enough for customers so perhaps tall girls
get a lot of interest. I wonder if there are ever any shocks in the
short time room when the customer gets to see that his lady boy is in
fact a girl.
Summer 2005:
I found Goodfella's to be a nice, clean, well laid out
bar with some pretty girls.

Review from Pattaya Today: Night March,
June 2009: Jazz
It looks as though the Goodfellas late night lounge has finally
worked out what it wants to be. After flirting with the idea of trying
to compete with the likes of Lucifers and Club Insomnia in the
head-banging stakes, Goodfellas has now settled into a more laid-back
operation with a highly competent jazz band as the centrepiece of their
entertainment.
Review from
Pattaya-Addicts,
January 2009: Not So Good Fellas
Goodfellas bar have put a up a TV screen speaker above Walking
Street. The music coming out of that speaker must be at about 120
Decibels as it is fucking loud. Of course all the bars in the area have
turned up their music to compensate.
Big place. It is almost like the Gulliver's on Beach Road in that it
has 4 pool tables, TV screens showing sports and have a restaurant and
bar. But they have a DJ who, at times, plays really loud music. Who
wants to have blasting music with their dinner?
But the place is well laid out and the bathrooms are clean.
Review December 2008: Who's First
I waltzed up the swanky new curved stairs to Goodfellow's bar on
Walking Street above Soi Lucky Star.
I had a look around, spotted a very good looking well decorated bar,
and promptly waltzed back down the stairs.
There was simply no one there, apart from the service staff, no
girls, no entertainment, nothing.
News May 2008: Freelance Sports
Bought by a Swiss and a French guy. They are calling it Goodfellows
and it will be a sports bar with freelancers encouraged to visit (no bar
fines). The Planned opening is sometime next month.

Never crowded (sad for the owners), low volume easy listening music,

Review by

Jan 2006: No Freelancers
There is a cavernous Castle Frankenstein interior, with hi-tec
accessories like internet stations and multiple TVs.
The bathrooms are a knockout. Drinks and food are reasonably priced,
and you can play pool or watch sports on a huge screen.
But unlike Bangkok Gulliver’s, there are no freelancers. The manager
says they’d be welcome, and he’s considering promotions to attract them.

On my last trip to Pattaya I drank most days (during the afternoon)
at Happiness Star bar in Soi 7. Having stopped originally just for a
quick beer the staff were very friendly and not at all pushy just
ensured that I had a good time.
On my daily return they remembered my name and continued with their
friendly attitude. Several could speak good English which helped.
The beer was cold, the prices friendly and I noticed that they were
the only bar that offered me cold face towel this trip. Last year and
prior years most bars the towel was the first thing offered after you
had ordered a drink. Maybe times are tough for the bar business and cost
saving policies are in place. Hope happiness Star bar keeps the good

Happy Bar

Review from Tony, Oct 2008:
Happy at Happy
I don’t agree with your reviews about Happy Bar!
I have been there several times sins February 2008 and only have good
things to say about the staff in that place.
And what difference can there be if Thai or Farang owned. Beats me
anyway!
I hope more people start to see the wider picture and not just an
impression after one visit. It is a good place with nice staff!
Review April 2008: Customer
Care Failure
Third visit and still no chance of getting beyond a single beer.
I tried to get one of the pretty girls inside but she seemed
reluctant. Eventually she gave way (or else the mamasang signalled
that she could). But then she proceeded to chat with the bar staff
rather than me.
The bar was well overstaffed considering there were zero customers.
I would guess the lack of customer care suggests that the bar may
be Thai owned.
Review Nov 2007: Middle Aged
Bar Girls
A new bar has appeared in Jomtien Complex next door to El Coyote. I
thought I would pop in for a beer particularly as it looked as if there
could be aircon.
The bar has aircon units but they weren't in use. The lounge area has
the inevitable pool table and various types of comfortable seating. It
looked a pleasant enough bar.
I was followed in by the ever more typical middle aged bar girl.
Flirting with girls way past their prime is not my thing and as I am not
interested in pool it left me feeling instantly bored. I wished I had
not even bought that single beer. What is one expected to do in a
deserted bar?
To be fair on my way out I noticed a pretty bar girl and I could have
easily been persuaded to enjoy the bar had she been assigned as my
companion.
It is becoming ever more popular in Pattaya bars for a token pretty
girl to be posted as advertising eye candy. She is often not allowed to
leave her post even when invited in by a customer. Customers are
expected to enjoy being entertained by the oldies inside.
Whatever happened to "first come first served"

I really enjoy this Bar. It’s a great way to finish the night. The bar
girls are not stunners by some your standards, but some are really cute
to be sure and eager to be bar fined (300 baht). The girls are quick to
give you a new drink and don’t bother you if your not looking for

four or five coming from Bangkok to help with the training of the

Eden is a bit different to other places in that there is no interaction
with the ladies before making your choice and that drinking beer is not
the main intention.

Henry Bean's Bar & Grill

Henry Bean's Bar & Grill
Large American themed bar and restaurant.
Review from
Jil in Pattaya
July 2007: A Pricey Theme
Henry J Bean's is definitely a theme restaurant, but
it sort of misses the mark. The clientele on the night I was there was
primarily Thai people. (Tourists probably head for more "local"
restaurants, and the expatriate crowd obviously have their reasons for
not coming.) My guess is that this restaurant (with its Fillipino band)
is the starting-off spot for well-to-do Thai people.
The band was good, and the music was fine but far too loud for a
restaurant. Most of the entrees are around
250-400 baht. However, drinks are pricey, with small (0.25L) draft beers
being 100 baht, and mixed drinks 160 baht.
A little bit expensive and definitely far from the best meal deal in
town. Add to that the loud music; service that, while satisfactory, was
not outstanding; the tacky decor; and the food that was pretty much
average... and you have a restaurant that you can go ahead and leave to
the rich Thai people, who don't know any better.

Nice pub style ambience. Has got a bit greedy on pricing of late
though. Beer up by 10 Baht and double price if bought as a Lady drink.
Mostly older bar girls but the younger cute ones seem to think old
falang duffers will pay 2000 Baht up.
Maybe some will but this one wont! I was told by Mamasan that short time
bar fine is 500 Baht and use of room 300 Baht. More gogo price than bar
price. Perhaps that's why El Coyote round the corner is so busy!
March 2006: Hot
The bar gets seriously hot.
There are some meaty looking fans dotted around but maybe just not
turned up high enough.
August 2005: Renovated
The bar has just been renovated. They have added
a circular beer bar that is half indoors and half outdoors. The decor so
far looks very smart.
As always the atmosphere of a bar depends
upon the ladies working there. But on an early evening visit all the
right pointers were in place. There were a couple of pretty girls, there
were a few regulars and the bar staff were very welcoming.
I guess there were 8 girls on entertainment duty. It has a popular pool table. Fans
rather than air con though.
Certainly worth a return visit.

From
Pattaya City News,
Oct 2006: Blazing Hollywood Entrance
In May of 2004 a fire engulfed the entrance of Hollywood Discotheque
located in South Pattaya. A problem with the exterior lighting was
blamed for the fire which luckily resulted in no deaths or major
injures.
In October 2006 it happened again as the entire entrance to the club was
engulfed in flames. The fire occurred at around as staff were
arriving for work. There were no customers inside the club and once
again, no injuries or deaths were reported.
Firefighters were quickly on scene and once again found it difficult to
gain access to the fire because of the location of the club and the
narrowness of the access roads. Eventually the fire was brought under
control and the damage was accessed and the cause of the fire was put
down to an electric short circuit.

Face of an Angel
Now, this was my very first visit to this establishment, and I don’t
want to get into a debate about the old Coyote vs Go-Go Girls thing, I
know the Pattaya A Go-Go purists don’t like them, indeed ‘mein host’ at
Thai-Anxiety is not a lover of the Coyote style, but I have to say I was
very, very impressed with the line up of beauty here, all resplendent in
skimpy white attire, which confirmed my suspicions from The Atlantic Bar
that ‘White is indeed this years Black’ and in particular number #92,
which gave me an ‘Apocalypse Now’ moment, you know the lines, Sell the
house. Sell the car. Sell the kids. Find someone else. Forget it. I'm
never coming back. Forget it. What an absolute darling! Wearing a
miniscule pair of white shorts, a cropped white top with a black bra
showing through revealing a fair old cleavage, long curly hair and the
face of an Angel! I was in love big time, but I had to think, is it the
skimpy clothing that makes her stand out? Would I have been so smitten
had she been wearing a bikini, or even naked? This is where we came in,
regards the Coyote look, personally I like it, it makes a change of pace
and the skimpy clothing adds a little mystery for me, even though there
isn’t much of it.
I have to say The Honeypot made us feel very welcome, giving us two
of the best seats right near the window and right near the dancing
podium, I felt like a kid in a candy store! And what of my delectable
number #92 Goddess? Well, of course she never gave me the time of day,
but I handle rejection well, and will be back to try another day.
Overall, this place rocks! Well not exactly ‘Rocks’, as they have the
unusual concept for this kind of bar, of having a live band playing sort
of cod-rock, easy listing type stuff, I kept expecting Hotel California
any moment, but bizarrely it seems to work fine, all the girls seem
happy enough, the staff were friendly, (except #92, probably just shy!)
and drinks reasonable. I am going to take another look next week at the
comparable Club Blu in Soi Boukhao before I judge the whole Coyote
thing, but for now I think it’s a winning concept, but my judgment could
be clouded by my schoolboy crush!. The only reason we left was that on
the next table, a large American chap fired up an equally large stogie,
which put a damper on my enjoyment, so much for the supposed ban on
smoking inside air conditioned venues, like all Pattaya ‘crackdowns’ it
has quickly turned to dust, (Or at least ash!)
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
May 2007: Cute Girls
I really enjoy Honey Pot. Definitely lots of cute girls and have had
fun with them even if the one girl did quote me 5000 Baht LT.
Not just the looks of the girls I enjoy but the bar itself. When the
girls dance they do tend to look out the window a lot though at times.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
Jan 2007: Disinterested
Reports of cute but disinterested girls but also a
warning to keep your eye on the bin as phantom lady drinks chits have
been subtly dropped in 2 customers bins.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets, Dec 2006:
Reception
They seem to differentiate between hostess girls and girls on the
door area (reception) (and that's half the girls sometimes) who are
there to entice you in. They will walk with you to the bar if you take
one but otherwise they are supposed to stay at door. If you do buy one a
drink they are supposed to leg it back to the door unless you bf them or
continue to buy them drinks and a mamasan gives them the okl. The owners
clearly know their business but I think this aspect is rather absurd.
Review from
Thailand
Nightlife Roundup, Dec 2006: Sleek
A sleek new bar. Stunning slender dancers in tight vests and
hot-pants ripple compellingly on 3 platforms, and big TV-screen windows
give a view of the raucous street-life and kiosk bars opposite.
The air-conditioning is cool, the Burberry-clad service is
friendly, the cream-and-biscuit paintwork is soothing, and the
house-band is terrific.
Starting off with dinner-jazz in Pat Metheney style, they modulate
through bass-beat funk to rock classics you can headbang along to.
Soft drinks 65 baht, booze at 95 baht, ladydrink 100 baht &
hostess barfine 600 baht, service girl 500 Baht.

Review from Pattaya Talk
May 2007: Bit Expensive
I fancied a nice bit of grub one night so I treated me and Missus to
a meal in Hopf.
Glad to see it's not a gay bar anymore. Steak was nice and service
excellent. Bit expensive but worth a go and Pizza's and Knuckle ham
looked lovely.
From Steve, Nov 2006: Discriminatory Policies
I’ve been eating in the Hopf Brauhaus on Beach Road for four years.
The place has an interesting pseudo-gothic interior decoration. The food
comes in large portions and is good quality, though hardly gourmet (and
they totally overdo the tomatoes in/on just about everything!). The
staff are efficient and mostly quite friendly.
However, I recently took a friend who has a foot deformity there to eat.
To cut a long story short, he was denied entry because he didn’t have
what they deemed to be ‘proper’ footwear. What did they expect? He can’t
wear normal shoes. Anyway, after discussing this with one of the senior
waiters that I knew (one of the guys wearing a green jacket), he stood
by the doorman’s decision to refuse my friend entry.
I was so damned embarrassed by this. My friend seemed to blame himself
for us being refused entry. He was almost in tears as we went off to
Pizza Hut to eat. What could I do? It was my stupid idea to take him
there as I had always liked the place before this incident. In spite of
the Hopf brauhaus being one of the largest and evidently most prosperous
restaurants in Pattaya, it has no wheelchair access either.
So be warned, avoid the place if you have a physical handicap.
Personally I have decided that I will never eat there again, they made
me feel so small. Up to you if you want to support a restaurant with
these discriminatory policies.
From
Jil in Pattaya,
June 2006: Italian tenor
We met up with Rick and Da at the Hopf Brewery on Walking Street at
11:00 on Saturday night. Why? Because it is only on Saturdays when one
of the owners, Enzo, gets up on stage to sing: Yes, Pattaya's only
Italian tenor cum human beat box. He really is exceptional, and the
place just goes wild when he sings.
The Hopf Brewery still has great beer. Order their home-brewed wheat
beer and at 11:00, enjoy the show.
Summer 2005: No Smoking
Seems popular with the Asian tour parties probably because this is one
of the few bars that don't focus on female companionship.
The live band are competent and play the usual pop/rock material but
they feature a jazzier treatment than most.
The beer is good but a little expensive.
I found the metal detector search on entry a little off putting, it
makes you wonder if they have something to fear from protection
racketeers or thugs. Maybe they working with a thought to further royal
vistors. Smoking is prohibited.

Hot Legs
Sports Bar
New aircon bar opened in October 2008
Review November 2008: Variety
Sports
The opening crowds have drifted away so time to check out the bar in
a more relaxed setting.
The bar is large for Jomtien and also has a fair amount of space for
a pool table and seating outside.
Inside there are several seating areas perhaps arranged to
accommodate a group of friends rather than individuals. The seating is
varied and comfortable. Looks good.
One of the large windows is opaque but the other is clear glass. It
is just a personal thing but I always prefer a bit more privacy,
especially if a bar is billed as a short time bar.
There were good sized TVs and pool tables for those that like their
sport.
No cuties on offer but the girls with whom I chatted were attractive
and good company.
They were also keen on letting people know of the short time options
in the rooms above (350 Baht room charge, presumably no bar fine
required). I find it a little rare in Jomtien for girls to be overly
enthusiastic about short time. It sometimes seems that most girls in
downtown Jomtien are happy with their salary and don't push for extras.
I guess any that are keen for financial supplement soon shoot off to
Pattaya.
Drinks prices were perfectly reasonable.
All in all a good bar with plenty of variety of entertainment.
Review October 2008: Short Time
Bar...10 seconds
The large bar is located inside the Jomtien Complex on the corner of
the gay soi nearest the beach and the longest internal soi. It was
previously a Hungarian restaurant.
The bar is one of the new architectural school of 100% windows and no
privacy. It is not lit quite so severely as the Pattaya coyote bars that
try to make the people inside into a spectacle for the people outside.
The bar is very nicely fitted out with different styles of seating,
all of which are good quality.
Unfortunately the bar seemed to be quite popular and the bar was down
to 2 average girls outside trying to attract passers by. Despite a
smile, neither of them accompanied me in. As I sat at the bar, I looked
around and couldn't spot any free girls inside, so rather than drink
alone, I did a quick U-turn.
Given that there were quite a few customers inside, there seems no
reason why the bar shouldn't attract a few more girls. So I'll give it a
couple of weeks and try again.
News from Hot Legs on Pattaya-Live,
Sept 2008: Horizontal Sports
The bar should have influences from Jade/Kineree/Secrets/Honey pot.
Coyote dancing will depend on the strange Jomtien licensing laws.
We will have newly done up ST rooms, and all the usual big screens,
pool tables etc, prices, we wont be in the Fantasy bracket, but we we
certainly wont be expensive, there will be one or two deals going on
that you will only find in HOT LEGs Horizontal Sports Bar, but you will
have to come and check them out.
Lady drinks, if its alcoholic, then the usual prices, non-alcoholic,
then the BG has to tell the customer and this drink will be 20/30 baht
cheaper.
Aiming for short time girl + room for an hour + a couple of beers for
1000 Baht.
Will also be looking for some good pool players to make up a team.

News from John, April 2009: Up Sized
The bar has now been extended. The bar is more than twice the size of

Review Nov 2008: Not So Hot
There's a good band and a very cheap 45 Baht draft beer. There's even
a few pretty dancers. However at least at an early hour the bar is
struggling to get any momentum going (ie I was the only customer).
But as is often the case, if a bar is dead then nobody seems to make
any efforts to retain the few customers that give it a try.
Presumably the only girls that put up with a dead bar are those happy
to work for the salary rather than tips + extras. Hence nobody is
bothered about trying to look after any customers that may pop in.
Review from Pattaya Ghost, June 2008:
Excellent Band
The women here are a noticeable step down from Club Blu. The costumes
are large white t-shirts and modest shorts. Some women keep their
mid-drifts covered (and for good reason).
But the band is excellent, there’s a pool table in the back, smoking
is allowed and draft beer all night is 49 baht and 59 baht for Tiger and
Heineken, respectively.
As such, the coyotes play a pretty minor role here. Should you be
interested, however, barfines are 600 baht and lady drinks 110 baht.

There is a friendly foreign manager, a live band playing good older

people, and, most importantly, plenty of ladies. Most are friendly and
interact with the customers. Libations are reasonably priced with house
spirits at 95 baht.

On Thin Ice
We came across another Coyote Bar, named ICE, sadly, there were 4 bored
almost comatose dancers in the window, but no customers that we could
see, so despite this being a Coyote hunt we decided to give this place a

Review, Oct 2008: Happy Hour
Draft
Had a happy hour cheap 50 Baht draft beer and I was just about the
only customer.
I still enjoyed the drinks though as I was well looked after by
witty and articulate coyote. Didn't really notice much about the bar.
All the fancy decor makes little difference when you are enjoying the
company of a pretty lady.
After a reasonable amount of time the girl had a dance stint giving
me a chance to look round the bar. The open glass front, cubic room with
very cold decor made it somehow feel very lonely. The lonely dancing
seemed to be almost surreal. If an artist wanted to paint 'lonely' then
couldn't do much better then setting it in Ice with a single coyote
dancing for a single customer.
Still enjoyed my stay though.
Review from Pattaya Ghost July 2008:
Decent Club
Ice tries to copy Club Blu in just about every way, down to its cool
blue lighting. But the copy falls short, The walls are whitewashed, with
just a couple of mirrors around. Compare that to Blu’s wall treatments,
neon lighting and varied interior design. Ice, by comparison, is just a
large square room. It’s hard to shake the feeling you’re partying in a
sterile hotel lobby.
The bar seats about 70 people with square tables and barstools scattered
around the place. Four dancers do their thing in the all-glass front of
the bar. The seating is the one low point. The bar uses small, straight
back barstools that are tight even for a guy with a 36-inch waist.
The fact that it’s a poor copy doesn’t mean it’s not a nice place or
have a fun atmosphere, however. When I came into the bar it was early
and quite empty, but over my visit it filled up considerably, adding
somewhat to the warmth of the place. (Although Ice earns its name. The
air conditioning is very cold, even with the bar more than half full.)
Should you get sweet on one coyote, there are rooms upstairs for your
convenience. Short-time bar fines are 400 baht, including the room.
Long-time barfines are 500 baht. The mamasan said the women expect 2,000
baht-long time, although with some of their Soi 6 heritage, I’m guessing
the girls will drop that pretty easily.
One noticeable difference between Blu and Ice is the drink prices. A
bottle of Tiger at Ice is 85 baht compared with 60 baht at Blu. Lady
drinks are better, though, at 100 baht vs. Blu’s 115 baht.
Music-wise, expect Ice pumps out a friendly mix of recognizable dance
tunes at a volume that makes close conversation possible.
Ice should do nicely. It’s a decent club that, if it found a bit more
originality, would stand out a bit more of its own rather than trying to
get out from under a Blu shadow.

After not being able to attract much in the way of chrome pole

I go to this bar quite often during my trips. There some nice girls,
although the stunners usually man the reception area until late after

Well Positioned
Good well priced food at this bar and very well positioned for
checking out the talent at other bars as well as getting recon from
the expats and regulars that drink there.
Also a good bar to go to if you want to see any sporting events.
Good place to chill out if you aren't in the mood for a bar girl.
Review from Swanks, August 2006: Tarred with a New Brush
The lightning struck tower of change has hit the Jack Tar big time!
The place is still inhabited by the same bawdy and good natured ex-pat
crowd with the odd tourist who thinks he has slipped in unnoticed, but
gone are the poisonous grim meanies and especially the chief viper from
the kitchen.
Not only was my visit well worth it for the food, but I got a beaming
smile , very friendly, very welcoming and attentive service from some
quite charming waiting and bar staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble
for them!
I thought I'd gone in the wrong bar by mistake! Well worth a visit now!
Don't forget its not a late night place though, more for an afternoon of
spirited debate , if you take my drift!
Review from Swanks, April 2006: Service
with a Scowl
This always was a "Beer n Sport" bar and was previously very
welcoming.
Since the ousting of Scrumpy George by the bar girl mafia there, it
really has been the tail wagging the dog! George's management style
might have been a bit "Faulty Towers" ,but he managed to keep a lid on
what started as a bad attitude in the kitchen, and then spread to the
rest of the staff like clap at Loy Krathong. Now it really has took hold
and even the new Thai manager seem to have mastered the lip curl (as
used on social inferiors by Thais) . This is issued on every possible
occasion now and usually is accompanied by "Knowing looks" between staff
members. This attitude problem has been mentioned to me by several of
the former customers without my saying anything first so it cant be just
my imagination.
Beer still cheep and the food is possibly the best, for the price, in
Pattaya. Just don't expect service with a smile.

Feb 2009: Thumbs Up
The quality of the girls has improved since last year. They still

bill if you chose not to eat.
The ST activity costs 1000bt and barfine-room costs 300bt not a bad way
to spend a Wednesday afternoon, got to give it the thumbs up
Review May 2008: Oldies
The bar seemed to be in a party mood but the girls were enjoying
their own company. An old and unattractive lady attached herself to me
so I shooed her away. When another oldie joined me as a replacement, I
figured it was time to be off
News Feb 2007: Expensive
The bar seems to have dropped out of favour a
little as the girls now ask for 700 Baht + 300 for the room. The
Wednesday afternoon BBQ is free for anyone who buys a drinks ticket
for 200 Baht. Drinks prices are reasonable at 60 Baht for a bottled
beer.
Review from Pattaya Addicts May 2008:

Daily action in a bar with a dark and dingy room with a few chrome
poles and anywhere from 15 to 30 ladies working daily. Beer is
reasonable and its a decent place to hang out. best day to go is

Very nicely fitted out but like has already been said it is in the

with a few friends away from the madness and there is plenty of space
for parking in the pub car park. The couple of times I've been in the

boozer if it can get enough custom.
The manager used to own Jools in Bkk about 10 years ago and also the TQ2

Great weekend carvery and wonderful staff. 50 Baht for a coke, 30

Review from Pattaya Chat,
March 2005: Pea and Sham Soup!
Was one of the Manager's first customers when he had Jools in Bangkok
where portions were super-size, especially the Pea and Ham soup.
Therefore when I tried Jamesons a while back for lunch and saw the
aforementioned soup on the menu I decided that past experience would
prevail. Ordered Pea and Ham Soup and Roast Beef sandwich.
Soup arrived, a smattering of green sludge was deposited on the bottom
of the bowl. indeed not enough liquid to drown the proverbial fly! The
sandwich arrived, two miniscule pieces of bread buried under a mass of
rabbit fodder, specifically requested NOT to be supplied! Somewhere
there were two tiny slivers of meat, and I do mean tiny!
The manager was called for who just laughed in my face as I explained
politely my dissatisfaction. Needless to say never been back.

rather take them back than take them home but the crowd is warm and
welcoming and, just as in any likeminded neighbourhood bar back home,
you see the same faces in the same seats every night.
I like it very much.

I was enticed in by the prospect of checking out one of the 4 or 5

I sat down to watch the Jomtien world to pass me by but the view was
somewhat overshadowed by a rather large electric pylon and transformer
that sit directly in front of the bar.
No problems, I had an attractive hostess so I turned by gaze inwards
instead. Couldn't stay too long though as it was a hot evening and this
bar offers little in the way of effective fans.

somewhat after the recent police raids. It is said to be now be a little
more low key and that short time breaks have to be taken off premises.
The rooms at Stork Club are said to be made available
Review Nov 2008: Beg to Differ
The exceptionally attractive bar seems to get nothing but good
reviews. The decor is amongst the best in Pattaya, the drinks are
reasonable (bottled beer was 75 Baht) and there are some good looking
short time girls around.
However after 3 or 4 visits I find that there is something very
critical missing. A way for the guys to hook up with the ladies. There
is no welcoming group of free girls, nor is there any entertainment
whilst surveying the prospects. Not even a TV. There's no obvious place
where the free girls congregate.
You see pretty girls around but there are plenty of regulars whom
they know well, so they naturally get first dibs. Or else they just hang
round waiting for the suay young guys.
Perhaps this is more a bar for a group of guys rather than for single
guys. But after 3 or 4 very unsatisfactory visits I feel they need to
employ a mamasang who can ensure that customers are being taken care of.
Better than leaving customers to watch girls sleeping on the sofas
whilst having no company.
But no doubt this would be the best bar in town with the right
company
Review May 2008: Plush
This must be one of the most attractive bars in Pattaya. It is new
and purpose built with a feeling of luxury.
Having passed through the enormous hallway one finds a choice of 3
drinking/smooching areas. There is the main bar, an aircon room and also
the garden.
The ambiance is relaxed and the sofa seating is very comfortable.
There are about 25 girls in attendance circulating around. There are
plenty of pretty drinking partners but there also a few to avoid. They
seem a friendly and lively bunch.
Drinks prices are typical for Pattaya and there were free rather good
sandwiches into the bargain.
There are plenty of good quality rooms on hand and a Jacuzzi
somewhere too.
Rooms are 300 Baht with no further barfine. The girls expect 1000
Baht. The takeaway barfine is set at 500 Baht.
There's plenty of car parking space in front of the bar.

News Feb 2007: For Sale

Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
April 2006: No Techno Boombox
Sadly, King Kong seems to be on the downside. The last 3 or 4 times
I've been in it has been dead. Not many punters and listless girls. It
may be just part of the life cycle of bars.
If you go, I think after 10:30 would be best as the girls get up to
antics in search of baht as the clock ticks toward closing time.
Music is still a good mix of blues, r&b, bluegrass and alt. country, no
techno boombox shit.
Still worth a visit though to a Pattaya landmark of sleaze.
November 2005: Eating at the Bar
It seems to have become something of an eatery with girls sitting on
the bar as the main course.
Slightly too much emphasis on 'going upstairs' to count as
particularly friendly
October 2005: Pattaya Office
King Kong is my Pattaya office. It is a short time bar with 2 rooms
upstairs. The shower is in the hallway. The bar also uses rooms in the
hotel next door and these have showers in the room.
200 Baht for the room and 500 Baht for the girl (1 hour).
Girls also available Long Time for 300 Baht barfine and 1000 Baht for
the girl.
Small interior with impressively low-rent decor and very good music eg.
George Thorogood, R&B, bluegrass, country rock. NO technocrap or disco
shit.

One place in particular that I visited was the “Kiss Kool” club in

Review by Steve, Feb 2006:
Community
This is the bar on the main road to the beach, its
sister KR (or whatever, typical Thai lack of imagination in naming
places) is in the off-road soi at the back. There are comfortable
cushioned seats right alongside the road. Look right and you are just 30
or 40 yards from the beach. A nice spot to relax, though the traffic
fumes can be a pain.
Very friendly ladies and cold beer. Cheaper than some
places, too, though at New Year they put the price of a bottle of
Heineken up to 70 Baht.
Decent toilets. Free pool from 7:00 until midnight.
They make a real effort here, the way they decorate the place for
Halloween, Loy Krathong and various parties is a pleasure to behold.
The ladies live on-site upstairs so they have a
genuine sense of community. There’s also relatively little staff
turnover, so you can get to know the ladies and they probably won’t be
gone tomorrow. As with all beer bars, the ladies are mostly not
stunners, but at present there are certainly two hot girls here who love
to make some money outside the bar confines.

Las Vegas Bar
Short time bar, went dark in March 2009
Review from jj, Nov 2006: Making Hay
Sensing the need to "make hay while the sunshines", the management of
Las Vegas has raised the price of the pay-to-play behind the curtains to
300 for a 3-4 song set. Neked-pool is still 200/game.
Some of the 'players' are a bit long in the tooth, but with age comes
experience and quality.
If it has a drawback it is that the ladies tend to pick the customers.
It is as if they have a set rotation policy = "you're up next". Most of
the staff sit outside (a la Soi 6) and accompany a new arrival thru the
door. Very little chance to see who's lingering in the a/c, before you
are paired off with a lady or two.
A fun place with the right lady(ies).
News from jj, May 2006: Open Again
The bar was open on the next day and was operating 'as
usual'. If anything there were more customers than usual...any publicity
is good publicity.
According to the ladies, there was no significant fine and there
seems no imminent threat of closure. Just a bit of a lark to them.

Review from
Pattaya Today:
Night March, Nov 2006: Eclectic music
One nice place is Lek Bar. In all the years I’ve been wandering into
the joint there might have been four or five damsels worth a second
look, so it’s not a real ‘hostess’ boozer. It’s the kind of place you go
into with a friend who knows either the eponymous Lek or her Pommy
husband Charlie.
Lek and Charlie are a very welcoming and friendly couple and if you have
a hankering to listen to any particular style of music (and I do not
include rap, hip hop and techno in that word ‘music’), then it’s almost
certain Charlie would be able to find a CD or two to satisfy even the
most eclectic of tastes.
Review 2005: Chilling
My favourite bar in Pattaya is Lek bar near the bottom of Soi 7.
Its a no hassle place and a great place for chilling and watching the
circus roll by. Charlie and Lek are smashing people and make for good
company when you get a bit fed up of the constant 'where you come from,
why you hab lorng hair too mut, I go with you etc'
Charlie has a great choice of music and you will always get your
preference on at some stage.
