Asian tour party venue

Not fully included in list as it does not advertise public admittance and may in fact have a cover charge designed to deter.

It's a companion to the Model Club and features the Russian/Uzbekistan girls that dance at Galaxy Cabaret.

This venue is on the site of the new but failed Pattaya Dragon complex.

Lured in by the blondie dancing in the glass cubicle upstairs overlooking the street.

Wandered in.... sat down.... ordered a Heineken - 220baht payable immediately.... Different blondie starts dancing & wigglin her bootie in front of me for few seconds.... holds out her hand & says in no uncertain terms one hundred baht...

It was the manner in which it was demanded. I replied no money have to go to ATM sorry. Blondie looked at me with contempt & spat something along the lines of you have no money go home sleep alone.

Next thing a different girl came along & plonked a small sign on the coffee table in front of me which read something like minimum tip 50 baht & in brackets something like this is only $2 US.

Suddenly my urge to nail a white girl had diminished somewhat & I promptly got the hell outta there.

A few prices quoted or charged in March 2008. Bottle of champagne 8950 Baht. Box of chocolates (Ferrero Rocher) for 1500 Baht. Long time 15,000+ Baht

  News Aug 2007: Open

It was reported on Stickman that Galaxy had closed. This seems not to be the case. (The door was open and people were entering but I wasn't going to look any further lest I get hammered with a mandatory tip). Girls are now back dancing in the street booth too.

  News from Pattaya Daily News June 2007: Police Raid

Pattaya police arrested five naked Russian dancers at Galaxy Cabaret on walking street.

Outside, there were clothed foreign dancers performing behind a glass window. However, inside, Russian strippers were entertaining the audience.

Foreign undercover 'volunteers', with female police, posed as customers to investigate; and found five Russian strippers, clad only in bikinis, dancing to the delight of the audience. The police immediately arrested the half naked performers.

They all had permits to work as dancers, but they were, nevertheless arrested, as it is a crime to perform unclothed.

The manager was also arrested

  Review from Pattaya Talk, Nov 2006: Avoid

We sat down and ordered our 200/250 baht beer.

One of the the girls said hello, seemed pleasant but we avoided to much chatting as we did not wish to lead on as we were only having a look inside.

Then a girl walked over, stood about 1 metre in from of us and wiggled her ass.. then pointed at a sign on the table saying minimum tip 100baht.. and demanded 100 baht, she didn't ask nicely or anything it was a literal give me 100 bath now .. to avoid grief we coughed up and started to finish out beer with haste.

Then another girl came over and tried to do the wiggle .. we said no thanks & she moved closer. again we said no, she then called the bouncer over saying we pushed her away and started shouting abuse. The bouncer was a big guy, so we just pleaded ignorance said it was not right .. he showed no interest and started to try and argue with us .. so we made a quick exit and left to the safety of walking street ..

  Review from Stickman, July 2006: Mandatory 100 Baht Tip: Avoid

We were greeted by the doorman and asked if there was a cover charge. “No” was the reply – so in we went ‘for the experience’. There were a few good lookers swinging off their poles in their birthday suits – totally uninhibited. We were beset upon immediately by a couple of reasonably attractive Romanian girls who forgot to put all their clothes on, so we thought we would do the right thing and invite them to sit with us and have a drink.

Not long after we had taken a seat on the sofa, a third totally naked bird took the opportunity to slither across my lap (totally unexpected and uninvited) - knocking my beer over. Not only did she reduce my stubby to a half full state without me enjoying too much of it but she rudely interrupted the conversation I had just started with the bird I had bought a drink for.

She removed her body from my lap and stood with her hand out – she had the audacity of seeking a tip – and I stress I neither invited or wanted her. My mate joked she was looking for payment for services rendered. What services? I politely gestured for her to POQ but she wasn’t leaving in a hurry. My mate told her a little (not much) more strongly that we were happy with the two girls we were talking with and didn’t need her. She threw her head back and charged away. She returned 30 seconds later – smashed a plastic sign down on the table in front of me “It is Galaxy policy that 100 baht tip must be given ...” 100 baht for what! That was enough for me – I was out of there.

Get a load of this... Tab – 2 lady drinks @ 300 baht + 2 small Heineken @ 220 baht = 1,040 baht for a small amount of entertainment.

  Review from Pattaya Secrets August 2010: 150 Baht Beers

Fairly classy decor with sofa's to sit on.. we ordered 2 bottles of beer which were 150 baht each. There was around 10 to 12 Russian / Ukrainian and other ex Soviet country girls working there and the standard of dancing was excellent, much more professional then most Thai places.

Lady drinks were 895 baht and 1100 Baht. Lap dances were 1000,2000 & 3000.

Girls wandered round looking for tips, the do a little seductive dance and ping their garter.. most got 20 baht and seemed fairly content,

Very expensive drinks and no doubt mandatory tips make this a bar for most Pattaya visitors to avoid.

The bar is now trying to entice a few more customers up the steps with a phalanx of girls dancing on the steps.

  Review from Thai Visa, August 2009: Seeing Red

On Walking Street someone stuck a Buy 1 Get 1 ticket in my hand outside a new place called Moulin Rouge. It is a new bar with Russian girls .

I went up the stairs and into a very dark red room with around 8 Russian dancers, 5 Thai bartenders and me as the only customer. I sat down to watch the dancers and ordered one Heineken.

2 minutes later the waiter came back with a bill of 260 Baht!! and insisted I paid it before I could get my beer. Anyway I paid the bill and got my beer, and found out that the Buy 1 Get 1 ticket I received 4 minutes ago outside their door, was no longer valid.

After 5 minutes a pretty rough looking Russian dancer came over and started crawling on me. No thank you, I only want to sit and watch the show. She snarled at me and told me the rules said you cannot refuse a dancer and you must pay her some tips. You can only tip 100 baht, and its better when you tip more than one bill.

I got up, got out, and left the nice Russian girl with my 260 Baht Heineken.

Nudity cannot be guaranteed and whenever the Pattay police are on the prowl the girls cover up. Closing times are sporadic depending upon local enforcement. 2am or 3am is now the norm.

Anyone with Middle Eastern or South Asian dark skin should be aware that they may receive a rather negative welcome. 90% of gogo bars have unspecified entry restrictions which can be hard to tie down as different people have had different receptions. Unwelcome faces will be told at the door that the bar is suddenly a members only club. Discriminatory maybe, but it is for real, it is based on experience, and it is supported by those who care about the welfare of the girls.

Just a couple of times people have had a bad experience in a bar which is perhaps the fault of an individual employee rather than bar policy. More often then not, the bar would be more than happy to deal with offsite problems even when it is not strictly their problem. To try and be fair to the bars, offsite complaints about employees can only be considered for inclusion if they have first been presented to the bar involved.

  July 2007:  Short Time Edging Up

From Pattaya Secrets and tallies with my own observations

• Dancing Girl ... ST 1000 / LT 2000 (assuming good performance). I would suggest that you should be willing to add an extra 500 if you get stuck on a model class girl and you find yourself unable to say no.
• Beer Bar Girl ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (quickie) to ST 700 / LT 1500 (for an entire evening of effort)
• Street Freelancer ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (no questions, no exceptions)
• Short Time Bar Girl... Traditionally ST 500 with 250 for the room (+ small tip for good service) but now ST 700 and 300 for the room with the old price only available to those that haggle
