The following reviews are those that I come across on the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own visits. Reviewers may be unreasonably harsh and bar owners may present a rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at face value...go and see for yourself.

  Review March 2008: Wide Range of Girls

Betty Boup always seems to have a fair few customers so it must be doing something right.

The bar is basically a short time bar. But the method of selecting a girl is far superior to the Soi 6 norm of momentary glance as you walk past. At Betty Boup you can relax a little before making up your mind. You can have a drink and a look around with out committing. And even watch the dancing.

The girls are generally fun on your lap, but of course are pretty quick to suggest retiring upstairs.

There's a wide range of girls in the bar, both in looks and outlook.

I've had a very mixed bag of good times and not so good in the bar but it is always worth a return visit.

  Review July 2007: Lady Drink Hassle

In the interests of balance, the bar was discussed on the Pattaya forums and the consensus was that there are way too many pushy ladies in the bar. As I know at least one very pushy girl who fits the bill, then I feel this should be recorded.

  Review June 2007: Couch Dancing

The mix of gogo and short time seems to be working well and the bar is now very popular.

Popularity always brings in the girls so there must now be about 30 girls at the bar. And of course there are a fair few that are well pretty.

The dancing on stage is pretty coy and bikinis are the rule, although a little audience encourage may shed a few inhibitions. The girl dance for a reasonably short stint of 3 or 4 songs. Sometimes, maybe when there are enough girls, those with lady drinks get excused dancing.

The real selling point of course is the soi 6 couch dancing. Plenty of intimate fun for all.

My only quibble to date is the one of the girls gets the Thai Anxiety award for the most unreasonable lady drink hassle in all of Pattaya.

    Review Oct 2006: Prim & Proper

This is a pleasantly presented bar that is operated like a small Walking Street GoGo rather than the half way gogos, Kiss Kool & Mandarin.

In particular the girls are dotted about the bar rather than waiting outside for pick up as per the soi 6 norm.

There were a dozen girls in the bar of which 4 were dancing a 4 song stint. It is all a bit prim and proper with all girls being clad in skirt, knickers and a bikini top. There were a couple of large ladies but a couple of attractive girls too.

Comfortable bench seating is the norm but there are stools surrounding the central stage. The music is for oldie farangs but the girls did enjoy a selection of Thai songs.

The girls were also being a bit prim when entertaining customers with not much sign of the customary soi 6 diddling. Of course short time rooms are convenient though.

I had a pleasant hour there and had the impression that I may have departed before the fun starts. Someone had just presented the girls with a bottle of Sang Som. The bar has the good policy of excusing girls dancing duty when being plied with lady drinks.

The drinks prices are clearly set out on a menu on each table.

  Review Feb 2008: A Change of Door

Since I last visited the door has switched from being on the right hand side looking from the beach to the left hand side. It seems a pretty extensive change for very little effect on the bar.

The bar seemed to have lost a little of the recent lively upswing but maybe it was just unlucky timing. My regular girls had moved on to pastures new but the potential replacements were a bit underwhelming for me. But still they were friendly enough and the beer is still cheap.

If a pretty girl were to jump into my lap then this bar would surely rate as a good bar. But as there were no girls so obliging, then it rates as one worth a quick look next time.

  Review Oct 2007: Enlivened

The bar seems to have improved of late with the addition of  a Jacuzzi show, stage shows and some naked table dancing in the corners.

And indeed this was accompanied by an improvement in customer numbers. And whenever customers turn up then so do a few pretty girls.

In fact a  couple of show girls showed up for a chat and they proved to be amenable company.

For the sake of 40 Baht for a draft Chang (other drafts are available at 60 Baht), then the bar provides very good value for money. It is just a bit of a pity that bar hasn't got enough cash left over to pay for lights. Some of the shows are so dark as to be near pointless.

Found myself and 2 other customers inside. There were about a dozen below average girls. 4 of them on stage and 2 in a bathtub doing something I still don't know.

Didn't even finish my beer I think this place doesn't last for more than 6 months as it stays as it is at this moment

A forum member reported that show girls are not barfineable something you should be aware of before you commit money to lady drinks etc.

  News April 2007: Water Works

A centre stage Jacuzzi has been installed and pleasantly filled by a couple of good looking girls.

The Jacuzzi splits the stage in two and the 4 dancers were doing a bit of a run round between the two halves of the 4 dance set. Another improvement is that some of the girls have been persuaded to dance topless.

On the downside sitting anywhere near the Jacuzzi gets you a tip pot shaken in your face. And the girl I sat with, was very quick to push for lady drinks for her friends and her mamasang etc.

In a venue that seems to be a little sparse of customers it doesn't feel a good policy to rapidly drive out the customers that actually make it through the door.

Free pizza on Wednesday and Friday. From 7pm to 9pm every day some drinks are 2 for 1. A good point is that one gets the second drink after finishing the first,  they don't come together. 2 for 1 does not apply to draft beer though.

  Review June 2008: Building Back Up

The 30 day closure a couple of months ago hit the bar rather hard. Obviously the closure itself hurt but then it was followed by a quiet month whilst the bar gathered back the girls and the customers.

There are now about 15-20 girls in attendance with about 7 dancing at any one time. About half the dancers were topless and the rest bikini clad. The girls were fairly average with a couple of pretty girls. I made a quick exit when approached by a near 50 year old dancer though.

There were a fair few customers but it is not yet quite back to the levels before the closure.

Drinks prices are reasonable and music is fairly restrained. The dance rota of 7 songs is way too long if you are waiting for your girl to 'go dance'. It then becomes a cue to go and have a look at Oasis just around the corner.

It is a fairly relaxed bar, perhaps targeting local residents rather than those on a flying visit.

  Comment from Pattaya Addicts, May 2008: Not Fizzing

It's open but is not like before. Very few girls. No nudes, girls being painted or showers.

Sign girl told me they where shut down for 30 days because of nudity and do not have nude shows.

  News April 2008: Back but No Draft

The bar has duly opened after the police closure but no longer has draft beer. Hopefully a temporary problem.

  News from Pattaya-Live March 2008: Licensed to Close

The owner of champagne A-GoGo has confirmed that champagne will be closed for 30 days for a minor licence infringement.

He said that the police had given him some time to sort out the licence problem without any closure, but a bit of lip from the staff meant a 30 day closure.

So Champagne is set to open in about 3 weeks time (24th April). In the meantime, there are just 77 girl gogos operating at the moment.

  Review by polleke, Oct 2007: Nothing special

I popped in at 10.30 pm. There were 7 average girls dancing, some topless. There weren't many girls left for entertaining the customers.

There was if you call it a show, for 4 painted girls were doing the Isaan shuffle and took a shower afterwards.

I had a girl on my side that hardly spoke any English, so not much fun on that side either.

All in all, just a bar for one drink. Nothing special

Note: The mamasan ordered the girls around like a prison warden. If I was a girl over there I would have kicked her ass long time ago.

  Review June 2008: Put to Shame

The bars seems to be very much a mixed bag. The bar was pretty quiet when I stopped by, but a friendly service girl told me but it was very crowded the night before (Pattaya bars are often crowded yesterday and tomorrow but never today)

The girls were also very mixed in attire. There was one beautifully built girl dancing topless, but most of the others were wearing skirts and blouses, and in many cases, bras too. I am wondering if the large chested girl should be asked to cover up. I have a theory that the others were overdressed because they were put to shame by the beauty,

The drinks prices were quite constrained and the music was forgettable which is better than being loud.

No real reason why the bar shouldn't make for a good visit, but as none of the girls felt like being friendly to me, I didn't stay long. Nearby Soi 6 is way too inviting for this bar to be anything less than great.

There were more girls inside than I expected. Most of them average to below. 8 girls dance on a central stage and 1 girls is in a bathtub.

When more customers arrived 4 girls were ordered to a side stage by the owner and the 2 mamasans and 1 papasan ( build over lady)

Drinking prices were okay.

Not that much fun in this place. Left after 2 beers and a ladydrink.

Classroom 2  just recently reopened after a 30-day time-out penalty by the local boys in brown.

It is obvious that they are suffering quite a hang-over from that event. Everything was under cover. Except for periodic short 2-song "shows" where the gals ended up nekkid, nothing was showing.

Another odd observation is that fully half of all the customers entered the bar with a lady in tow. There must be a message there somewhere but I have no idea what it is. Seems like a place to avoid until the hang-over wears off.

  Review by jj, June 2007: Setting the Record Straight

Perhaps I was a bit hasty, or should I say early, in my comments about CLASSROOM 2 in the last post.

Because I was invited back by a "regular girl", I cycled back there this week, but at a slightly later hour. It seems that the lack of customers and customer attention previously noted was mostly attributable to the timing of my visit. Although this bar starts its dance routine at 19:30, it seems that nothing is planned to happen until 22:00. At least that is true of the side stages. The mamasaan must have an alarm on her watch. At precisely 22:00 layers of clothing were shed and the jacuzzi activity increased.

This was preceded by an influx of customers, many of whom were greeted affectionately by their (now nekkid) "regular girl".

The main-stage dancers didn't seem to be in the same time zone as they mostly remained overdressed, but there was a definite increase in pace and level of interest. I wonder what happens at midnight?

Returned to Classroom 2 for the first time in many months. Found pretty much what the previous punter describes. Ladies in all manner of dress from too much to none.

There seemed to be two things missing: any interest in the customers and the customers. Likely, these are related.

Generally, the ladies ignored the handful of customers. Once they were tackled, lassoed and on our laps, they proved quite accommodating. But it was too much like work just to get their attention.

The 3-5 gals on the "spanking stage" seemed completely engrossed in themselves and ignored the couple of customers who sought a closer look.

The only one 'working the room' was the soapy gal in the jacuzzi. Unfortunately, only about 10 seats in the house have a view of that area.

In short, unless you have a "regular gal" at the bar whose attentions you can count on, you'll likely get a less than friendly reception.

  Review from Pattaya Talk May 2007: Brand Spanking New

Classroom 2 has undergone a small transformation recently and now has the Jacuzzi show and soft "rubber hose spanking" area. The girls on main stage have no nudity.

There were always at least 6 naked girls on the padded stage. The Jacuzzi/shower show always had a minimum of 2 naked girls as well. Spoilt for choice as there were a number of attractive girls. Well worth a look.

  Review March 2007: Gone Coyote

The bar has been revamped a little since I last visited with the old bar counter being replace by a row of comfortable seats and tables. It seems a strange decision given that these seats are a long way away from any of the entertainment. However it has opened up the space and the bar looks bigger and smarter.

A real downer on the costume front, the girls were wearing blouses and many were wearing bras underneath. They wear plaited skirts with no hope of even catching a glimpse of what they may be wearing underneath.

There were 6 girls dancing and another 20 awaiting there turn. There were a few pretty girls amongst the dancing crew.

Not really fair to blame the bar, but the girl who introduced herself to me scored absolutely zero for her Customer Care class.

  News from Pattaya Pages, August 2006: Toys for the Boys

Classroom 2 was sold last week along with Toy Bar opposite on soi 2, these were sold to a wealthy English guy for £200,000 (14 million Baht). He intends to spend another £50,000 doing them up so there will be a few changes there later on.

How it will do is another thing, but Classroom 2 A-GoGo always seems busy even in low season.

  News June 2008: Maintenance

The bar was closed as I walked past with workers in pulling out old materials. At a quick glance it looked like the bar was being refitted.

  Review, May 2008: Undanceable Rock

The bar seems to have picked up a little since the last report. Nothing has really changed about the bar but having a few more ladies means it works so much better.

The bar is primarily an afternoon bar catering to expats. The music is strictly rock focusing on the 70s. Some of it is totally undanceable for the girls.

Most, but not all, of the girls dance naked but the girl nearest the door puts her wrap back on presumably in anticipation of a police visit.

The girls tend to do a fair stint at Nevada so presumably they are well looked after by the bar. They know how to look after the customers but are not really quite so hands-on as Hot & Cold at the other end of the soi.

An easy place to stay for a couple of beers but I have rarely stayed for a long haul.

  Review, August 2007: Downward Spiral

The bar seems to be struggling with the low season of late and does not seem to be responding well.

They clearly have a lack of girls which generates a lack of customers and hence a lack of girls.

Also when the bar is down to their last half dozen girls, they still insist that most of them are dancing. This policy may encourage newcomers peering through the door to stay for a while, but sends the customers they have got already packing.

In addition the bar has decided to play safe with the morality police on the prowl. So it is not as if there is much to see on stage either

  Review from Peter, July 2007:  First Stop

A friend has been to Thailand 10 times and I have been three.

We spent most of our time in Pattaya in Club Nevada.

It is his favorite hang out during the day and it was my favorite hang out since trip two.

It was the most comfortable, best music, no hassle, and has some amazing looking girls.

I cannot say I have been in a better gogo in Pattaya and I have been in at least half of them.

I would just like to say that on my next trip, when I get up in the (late) morning in Pattaya, Club Nevada will be my first stop. Again.

  Review Dec 2006: Never Changing

Cheap beer, nude dancing, and girls who are pleasant company who are happy to entertain further in convenient rooms. What more do you need?

It is surely not the party atmosphere of Walking Street, nor is it the downright naughty that you will find at the other end of the soi.

The girls seem to exert very little pressure for lady drinks and barfines but seem to get blessed with a plentiful supply of both from bar regulars.

Just a pleasant bar to relax over a couple of beers, have a chat and wonder where to go next for somewhere a bit more extrovert.

  Review from Pattaya Pages, July 2006: Motorcycle Phase

I stop off at the Club Nevada on Soi Post Office an afternoon and early evening place. I like it here, as I am a fat 60/70s era sort of lump ,as some others are in there.

The music is familiar, beer is served cold, girls dance with a natural look...I can see topless on beaches! But in here I have a girl who has claimed me for life, I am her falang, others come nowhere near. So I sit and chat with her , enjoy the music, buy her the 2 LDs. A platonic relationship with bottom patting.

I enjoy some real music, not too loud, ponder how maybe plastic seating causes spots. Wonder why some men don't grow out of the motorcycle phase, or perhaps they have regressed back to it

  Review May 2006: Lucky Dip

I was gathering my reviewing thoughts over my first draft beer and they were tending towards the decidedly dull. Then  some particularly attractive girls started popping up from the darkened areas of the bar and suddenly life and the bar was good.

The danger of reviewing bars is that your hostess can make or break the enjoyment of the visit...and of course you make have a totally different experience with a hostess next time.

The management of the bar put together solid afternoon entertainment. Reasonably priced drinks, good service, oldie friendly music and some naked dancing girls.

There's probably 20 dancing girls of which 6 dance at any one time. The girls choose their modesty level ranging from nude to bikini clad. There are two dancing rotation polices, it is excellent when 2 girls change each record (a 3 song stint) but the wait can get a little long when they change 1 girl per song (a 6 song stint).

A pleasant bar with pretty girls. If you go in and it is a little quiet, give it another chance on another day.

  Review May 2008: Settling Down

The mamasang has worked in many Walking Street bars and has previously run a pretty tight regime of ensuring that customers are matched to girls.

Oasis though has settled down into a very hassle free gogo where you are likely to drink alone unless you make an effort to call over a girl.

I asked the mamasang about this, and she said that they have decided that is what the Soi Buakhao customers prefer.

So the bar offers minimal hassle, cheap beer and farang rock music at a reasonable volume. Sounds like your local pub back in farangland. But of course there are topless dancing girls and short time rooms if you feel the urge. So the best of both worlds.

But perhaps a little too restrained though for my tastes.

Got in at 10.30 pm. Inside there is a central stage with 8 girls doing a 4 song shift. There are also 4 tables in the corners with a girl dancing. So there were about 24 girls on duty that night. Did however see some girls returning from ST.

I was approached by a nice lady and called in a lady who was dancing at the moment. Had a very good time with some hands on fun from both ladies.

There are no shows. But nevertheless a nice place to spent some time.

The bin was 1680 bin which includes 2 barfines (550 each, 2000 LT) 1 bottle of Heineken, 1 diet coke and 4 lady drinks, so overall not too expensive I guess.

  Review Aug 2007: Getting Something Right

The early momentum is being maintained and the bar is still proving to be very popular.

There is nothing particularly unique about the bar that readily explains the popularity. One has to put it down to a good location, effectively signposted with a lot of neon. The bar also know that the location is better for expats than holidaymakers and so provide a competitively priced draft beer.

The music is also expat friendly and played at reasonable volume.

There are a fair few girls on the books and some of them are attractive. Even so, where the bar gets full there are not really enough girls to go round.

The girls do about a 5 song dance stint in various amounts of clothing. It seems a successful policy to allow the girls to choose their own attire as it somehow turns out a little more sexy than a bar imposed uniform.

A few of the girls can get quite up close personal with their drinking partners but many seem to sit demurely by their sides.

I can only put the success down to getting a lot of the small things right. But surely this bar can now be rated a good success.

  Review by jj, Jan 2007: Ups and Downs

Still in its early days, Club Oasis seems to be having its ups and downs.

Two thumbs up go to the music: classic golden oldies played at perhaps the lowest level in any Pattaya bar; plenty of volume to be heard and danced to but with no intrusion on conversation. Two more to the topless dancers in bikini bottoms gyrating with moderate enthusiasm.

Also on the upside (at least for the owners), there was a steady flow of customers, more in than out. This meant that the seats were filling up. On the down side, there weren’t nearly enough ladies to service the customers. It was only one hour into the weeknight and there were barely more than a dozen ladies in attendance. With 5-7 ladies on stage, there were never more than 7 to take care of the customers. They were outnumbered by more than two to one by the punters. Surprisingly enough, the punters seemed perfectly content to remain even with no hope of companionship. There was definitely no pressure for Lady Drinks, simply because there were no ladies!

Perhaps this is one of the attractions of this bar. The customers can enjoy the eye-candy with no pressure to spend money on lady drinks. A second thumbs down, goes to having a mostly male wait-staff. This means that there is no opportunity to have the wait-staff help out to attend to the needs of the customers. Two more thumbs down to parking another guy in the john.

A thumbs up goes to having the dancers do 6-song sets with the song versions quite short, making for a quick turn-around. But a triple thumbs down goes to the mamasan. A sinister pattern developed over the course of the night. With 12-15 ladies present, your lady-of-the-hour should be expected to sit for 12-15 songs before her next set. Not so with this mamasan. As soon as a lady finished her drink, one of the male waiters would whisk away the glass. If the mamasan saw any lady with a customer and no drink, she immediately ordered her to the dance floor. This created chaos in the dance order. Even with a 6-song set, there were variously 5-7 dancers on the stage. More than once I saw two gals reach the steps both thinking that they were next in the rotation. I kept expecting a game of rock-paper-scissors to break out to see who was the chosen one.

To be fair to the ladies, most were doing there part to at least sit with the customers. Reportedly, many of the performers had “called in sick” on that night. Why they chose this night for a sick-out is open to speculation. But (thumbs down) most of those who came to work weren’t really ‘working’. Rather they were sitting primly with little or no interaction beyond friendly conversation.

In short, service to the paying customers seems not to be the primary goal of Club Oasis. Yet inexplicably, it seems to be doing quite well. Go figure!

  Review Dec 2006: Male Massage Parlour

First of all, a request to the owners, get rid of the guy in toilets who attempts to massage your neck without permission. For this sensitive farang, this is considered an intrusion on my personal space.

Returning to the more interesting part of the bar where the (invited) female massage takes place. The bar is quite large and seems to have become instantly popular. There are a couple of table dancing stage but the main focus is the central stage. About 8 girls were dancing with more enthusiasm than is found in  most bars.

The dancing uniform seems to be up to the girls with a mixture of shorts, knickers, bikini tops and not. The variety of dress and the amount of customers makes for a lively atmosphere that is rarely seen outside of the big players on Walking Street. Another good idea is that the girls dance anywhere they like on the stage, they do not follow the norm of a slow procession round the circuit. It works well and takes away one of the reasons for getting a feeling of boredom with the Isaan shuffle.

Previous suggestions that there are a lack of pretty girls were not born out. Perhaps the instant popularity has made for some rapid and effective recruiting.

  Review May 2008: Foundering

The bar seems to be struggling a bit at the moment. I have been left to drink alone on my last couple of visits due to a general lack of girls.

There is also a general lack of customers too. This may be down to the girls being a bit overdressed in bikinis. Or perhaps it is down to lady boy welcome staff putting a few people off.

Still, there is nothing particularly bad about the bar. The beer is cheap and the music is farang friendly. And the girls seem friendly enough too.

As always it could be just bad luck but I think it is simply edged out by the better local competition from Nevada and Hot & Cold

  News, Jan 2008: Far East Rocked

Far East Rock has made the UK news as it is listed as one of the assets of Angela Miller. She has been prosecuted for running brothels in the UK where Thai girls were working in semi slavery to repay ridiculous trumped up debts incurred to get a chance of working in the UK.

She was sentenced to 4 years and will serve more if she opposes the confiscation of her assets.

She had been extradited back to the UK after being on the run for 6 years in Thailand.

Far East Rock seems to be the least popular of the afternoon gogos in the area. It is outdone by Cub Nevada for prettier and nude dancers. It is outdone by Hot & Cold for up close and personal attention. It is outdone by TQ1 for those that want to have a banter with their mates.

There's probably no good reason why it shouldn't compete with the others but momentum seems to have made this the least popular. Prices are generally competitive and the music is attractive to the afternoon expats.

The kateoys on the welcome staff at the door are probably a big negative for many potential customers. It seems strange to use kateoys when it does not seem to be a big thing within the bar.

The poor ranking generally reflects in a lower standard of girls but there are usually a few that one would be happy to share a drink with.

Never seems too bad, but I generally soon get tempted to move on to one of the nearby competitors.

  Review, March 2007: Afternoon GoGo

Seemed reasonably popular on an afternoon visit with plenty of customers who were enjoying some hands on fun with the girls.

In the evening katoeys guard the door so I don't know whether it changes character.

The music is pitched at those who like their rock from the 70's and 80's.

The draft beer comes in decent size glasses to make for a reasonably cheap session.

About 6 girls dance at anyone time which is probably a couple more than necessary s it would leave a couple more girls on hostess duty. Previously girls danced nude but on this visit they were generally topless

  Review, August 2006: Bar for a Rainy Day

A pending downpour and a lack of katoeys on the welcome staff afforded an opportunity for a rare visit.

Signs about the shortened opening hours have been taken down so presumably the bar now operates until late.

The aging bench seating has been reupholstered so the bar now looks a little smarter. There are also drinks menus dotted around which I am always happy to see.

Traditional, 'up to the girls', dress code was in force on the stage but most girls were a little below average in looks.

A couple of customers were being well looked after but somehow the bar did not click for me and I braved the rain for a short hop to the opposite bar

  News, June 2006: Emasculated Opening Hours

The low season blues seem to have taken their toll and the opening hours have shortened to 2:30pm-9:30pm. Previously the bar operated 1pm until late.

And perhaps before blaming the low season, they should perhaps abandon the policy of having lady boy welcome staff. I for one run a mile from any venue with lady boy touts, they are generally way too aggressive and there is always a slight threat of a really bad situation arising.

  Review April 2008: Quiet

I last stopped by before nearby Champagne got stung with a 30 day closure. Perhaps they are currently enjoying a few relocated girls/customers. I doubt it though.

Gorkle is always quiet. A lack of girls tends to cause a lack of customers. And a lack of customers tends to cause a lack of girls. It is not as if there is anything badly wrong with the bar. The drinks are reasonable and the staff are friendly. There's no hassle and everything seems well run.

The bench seating is very reminiscent of old wooden school desks and is a little cramped.

I guess that the dancers choose their own dancewear as some of the pants were somewhat larger than a manager/owner would ever pick. There were some girls dancing topless though.

A couple of the old stagers were circulating amongst the customers but the token couple of prettier girls were being somewhat aloof and acting as door bait when they had done their dancing stint.

I always find this an irritating policy. It leads to no customers being well entertained as opposed to a few customers that could otherwise be well entertained.

  Review June 2008: Seedy Fun

The state of the decor is getting worse and worse with time. The stained concrete ceiling effect is second to none. The benches are falling apart and the foot rests are nearly rotted through.

But what the hell, it is a great bar. The girls are up for more naughty fun than nearly all the competition put together.

There are a few potential downers though, there are a fair few oldies and chubbies. All the girls can be good fun but it depends a little on personal taste on how one deals with the choice.

There are plenty of attractive girls employed by the bar, but it often seems that they are all otherwise engaged. In fact the bar must do really well for the girls as some seem to be whisked away as soon as they turn up for work.

In fact the high turnover means that if you feel a bit stuck for choice, then wait a drink or two, and a few returnees will soon appear.

The other characteristic of the bar is that the girls like to jump on your lap in teams of 2 or 3 rather than as individuals. But if you can't stand the heat, then don't diddle in the fire of Hot & Cold.

For being one of my fave bars, I hadn't paid a visit for 6 months. Fortunately nothing has changed only the line-up.

2 minutes after entering I was treated with a balls massage from 2 girls that jumped aside me. After a couple of minutes they were replaced by a more fancied girl and the treatment went on.

I am aware they are not the most beautiful girls in town but hell it must be one of the most hands on fun dens in Pats. I too saw customers entering and leaving right away, but for me I hope the place stays the same for a long long time.

Be aware: the girls are pushy for threesomes, just stay firm, unless of course you want a threesome.

Consistent with the post-Songkran bar shuffle, the staff at Hot & Cold has undergone about a 50% change.

Many of the 'older' gals have departed as well as a few of the service staff. Their replacements are perhaps younger but seemingly no less experienced!

As before, the mamasaan seems to ensure that there is a wide variety of ladies in the mix. She just seems to have reduced the average age by a few years.

The customer service, whether from the dancers or the service staff, is still very much hands on and up close and personal.

Now if they'd just fix their termite-ridden seat problems, they could rise to the top of the Pattaya bar scene once again

The service staff of H&C have always been known for their hands-on customer service. This has proved so popular that the mamasaan has instituted a new fee scale. It seems that the service staff has proved so popular that they are being barfined at least as often as the dancers. To discourage their early departure, their barfine is now 800 baht, while that for the dancers remains at 500.

As I and others have noted, H&C may not include many stunners but they are the tallest! With the imported H&C2 staff and some new hires, H&C now seems to offer the tallest group of dancers in the city.

Other aspects of the bar's operation remain as before: 4-5 song sets with plenty of dancers ensuring that your lap dancer will remain with you a majority of the time. Friendly hands-on service; little pressure for the 80 baht lady drinks. Classic tunes played at a reasonable level. 11pm 'shows'. H&C offers something for everyone.

One of the longest-running ogling dens around town. The music is OK, and the drinks prices are very reasonable.

The damsels are not the best lookers in town, but I doubt there’s anyone who expects much in the way of ‘talent’ away from the dens of Walking Street. That said, there are plenty to look at and they come in all shapes, sizes, and age ranges.

They’re certainly a touchy-feely lot and for customers who may feel the need for a short lie down with an accommodating companion, the total cost will run to 1,300 baht.

Worth wandering into if you are at a loose end one late afternoon or happen to be out and about in the Soi Post Office/Yamato area

Once again, I have to commend the manager and staff for providing a fun venue.

But some work needs to be done on the facility. I'm happy to say that the worst offender in the seating hazards has been repaired. No more exposed nails. But I was sitting in the corner near the front of the bar and was afraid that I and my 5 stone companion were going to collapse the seat, it was so shaky. No sooner did we move, than a customer almost fell to the floor when he flipped the cushion on one of the tiered seats.

All in all a great place for a fun evening, but watch your step -- or where you put your tush.

  Review Nov 2007: Hard Sell

Kiss Kool is proving to be pretty conservative with little changing over the last year or so.

The bar seems popular with plenty of ladies. There is comfortable sofa seating in an attractive tiger skin decor. There's a large screen TV but it can show some pretty irrelevant programmes to what is the business of the bar.

There are usually 3 dancing girls modestly attired in bikinis. They are not really the focus of the attention as most customers will have a personal service girl on hand.

The bar operates more as a short time bar than a gogo with the girls up for selection as you walk in rather than circulating around the inside of the bar.

The girls seem to be aging a little and I found the bar to have a slightly hard edge with the hard sell to go upstairs.

But there seems little reason to change a well tried and tested formula so I don't supposed things will change much in the foreseeable future.

  Review March 2007: Half Way Decent

The bar area is attractive with comfortable sofas done out in a tiger theme. There is a large screen TV but variable programme choice means that this proves more of an distraction than an entertainment.

The bar is half way to a gogo in that there is bikini clad dancing on show but the real entertainment is the hands on grope provided with a view to a short time upstairs.

The draft beer is reasonably priced as are the lady drinks.

I would visit more but I dislike choosing a girl from the line up at the door after just a quick glance. And if you don't choose a girl, the default house selection always seems to disappoint.

A few changes, unfortunately none for the better.

Music was much louder -- to the point of being unable to engage in normal conversation.

• Deang - the 'show girl' - got herself a sugar-daddy and has left permanently.
• Maun - the sexy dancer - has returned home with no return date in sight.
• Porn - the second sexy dancer - remains.

All in all, the dancing was tame in full bikini with only an occasional teasing flash.

Once the gals were seated however there was fun for all on the couches, even if the conversation was subdued.

At 80B, lady drinks are still a bargain.

  Review from jj, June 2006: Kool Dancing

Kiss Kool is a hard bar to categorize. First, it is a mix of a Soi 6 hostess/ST bar and an A-GoGo. The 7-9 dancers seems to have no set rotation policy. They seem to ascend the stage at will and stay as long as stamina allows or something else catches their attention. Once descending from the stage, their main duty seems to be to join the hello-chorus outside the front door, contributing to the infamous Soi 6 gauntlet.

There is most definitely a hierarchy among the dancers. Currently sitting atop the pyramid is Deang. She is the "show-girl, if you will, spending most of her time on the stage. Most often clad in black, she is constantly changing costumes, some more revealing than others. The second tier is composed of Maun and Porn. They wear the same bikini uniform as the rest, but will readily respond to red-note tip with an up close and personal performance. The remainder of the dancers seem oblivious to the customers. For the most part, they seem to leave the customers to the hostesses.

The hostesses are friendly and playful, often willing to show more skin than the bikinied dancers. The music is a mix of classic gogo and techo-rap. Completely unpredictable, but not so loud as to prevent interaction with the ladies. I am led to believe that there is a snooker table on the second floor but cannot attest to that personally. Kiss Kool is an extremely laid-back, low pressure bar. There is neither the incessant demand for drinks nor "we go upstairs" demand. Couple this with very comfortable sofa seating and Kiss Kool is a fun place to spend some 'by-teo' time.

  Review May 2006: Cool

There are no clues outside of this bar that it has dancing girls but I was tipped off by a girl from Pook Bar.

I was very impressed. The bar is the nicest I have seen in Pattaya. The seating is mostly comfortable sofas with an attractive feline decor. Scatter cushions around add nice touch. The lighting is low and seductive.

There is a small central stage with 2 dancing girls but a third was dancing on a nearby table. They were bikini clad but were definitely sexy.

Customers were well looked after with an 'in your face' and 'on your lap' attitude to customer to customer service.

The only downside was that I could have enjoyed the customer service for hours but the girls are a little too keen to bring it all to a rapid but happy ending in the rooms upstairs.

The music is farang friendly and played at reasonable volume. There is a big screen and when I was last there they were playing an Earth, Wind & Fire concert.

The rooms do not include showers and so there is a towel clad walk down the corridor

  News from eyebee, Dec 2007: Split Kitten

Kitten Club seems to have split into two. There are now two doors; one saying Kitten Club and the other Obsessions. They look to be two separate clubs.

Now Obsessions in Bangkok's Nana Plaza is a ladyboy bar so there is the possibility that this is the case in Pattaya too.

Due to high prices and customer unfriendly policies such as unpriced bills in the bin, Kitten Club is on the Thai-Anxiety, "Never Again" list. So it may be a while before further details are available.

Kitten Club also has a large impressive new neon sign.

There is a closed circuit channel on the Penthouse Hotel melonf78TV so you can, more or less, see girls dancing inside the kitten club downstairs.

Unfortunately, the Kitten Club is a disaster. Up close you realize most of the girls are skanky and some of the girls are ladyboys and one in particular was aggressive and acting stupid. They dance over some jets of air which lifts their skirts Marilyn Monroe style but hey who wants to see ladyboys' skirts fly up? So, although I have mixed feeling about the hotel itself, I have no mixed feelings whatever about the Kitten Club: AVOID.

  Review June 2008: Legs Open

Legs Club A-GoGo opened on Soi Pattayaland 2 on 26th June 2008. The venue was previously home to Misty's A-GoGo. The new management have bucked the trend and decided that the interior is perfectly OK and did not need major renovations.

Actually the staff were familiar, as the bar have recruited dancers, service and mamasang previously working at Baby Dolls.

There were only about 10 girls working on the first night. There were dome pretty faces and about half were dancing topless. Never fair to assess the dancers on the first night though, and there will be an update when the bar has had time to come up to speed.

The drinks prices are comparable to Walking Street prices, but perversely, this is cheap for Pattayaland.

I enjoyed a short visit and even on its rather low key opening, it is already the best gogo on Pattayaland.

The gogo opens for early evening trade at 5:30pm but also closes early at 1am

Mandarin Club is suffering a bit at the moment. It is down to just 4 ladies one of whom dances on stage. There was just one decent girl amongst the quartet.

As part of the vicious circle, an unpopular bar struggles to retain many girls and this just makes the bar even more unpopular.

The bar needs to do a re-think. It has an attractive dancing area and the upstairs rooms are very good, just needs to find a way to get more out of its assets.

  News Nov 2007: Worst of Both Worlds

I thought I would drop by and see if there have been any changes as a result of the recent change of ownership. The answer is not much has changed.

There are now less girls but thankfully they seem to have lost those who have made for such brief previous visits. In fact there were just 3 girls dancing and 4 girls on hostess duty.

An attractive girl introduced herself but in no time at all she was ushered to the stage for her dancing stint. The bikini clad dancing was as insipid as it gets and there was no way I was going to wait for the end of the girls dancing stint.

Time to check bin and head off to a proper soi 6 bar where the customer is the focus of the attention.

But an improvement on the previous visit. At least I stayed for a beer.

  Review July 2007: An Unattractive Welcome

As nobody has commented on the bar for 6 months I thought it was time to take a look. In the past this bar has excelled in finding unattractive hostesses to plague my visit.

And of course on my latest visit the bar continued its long held policy of searching out the most unattractive girl in the soi to come and sit by my side. Luckily they were so quick with their selection that I was able to backtrack out of there before wasting money on a drink.

I am not keen on making a nano-second judgment of a companion as I walk into a Soi 6 bar and quite like the idea of walking into a gogo style bar and being able to choose a girl when settled in and able to have a look round at the dancing girls

This bar gets it all wrong though. If you don't choose yourself one of the ladies outside the door, then the most unattractive will select herself to follow you in.

Inside is comfortable seating and an attractive bar area in the distinctive rich red colour scheme. There are several bikini clad girls on the main stage and then a few more dancing on a glass ceiling, still in their bikinis.

Drinks are very reasonably priced and there is menu on every table. Never stayed more than one drink though as I have never managed to select myself an attractive drinking companion.
