Make sure you get your change, the bar seems to assume that small
change is a tip without asking first.
Review August 2010: No 1 for Naff
If there was a prize for the most naff GoGo in the Jomtien area then
We Are No 1 could make a valid claim.
It's certainly not the worst GoGo in Pattaya, that award would be
reserved for those that were rip off joints or were hasslesome or
dishonest.
We Are No 1 has no such negative attributes, and generally everything
is fair, friendly and above board.
But it is the way it operates that is so naff. The bar features a
stage full of below average girls and hardly any left over for customer
care duties. There doesn't seem anything to entertain, either customers
into watching pretty girls dance, or else those that like a bit of
interaction.
Presumably the handful of customers simply aren't aware that there
are 50 better GoGos over the hill in Pattaya, or else they go for the
pretty good selection of rock videos shown on a couple of very large
screens.
Review Feb 2010: Little
Competition
There is not really much on offer in this bar. The girls are a little
below average and there is no showing. The girls are friendly enough,
but too many are set to dancing, and any girl sitting at your side will
soon be recalled to the stage.
The bar does offer decent rock videos on two large screens and these
have been recently supplemented by 2 large TVs for customers at the
other end of the bar.
If the bar was in Pattaya, it would stand no chance. But in fact
there is little aircon competition in Jomtien, so I still drop buy every
couple of months when I have exhausted the alternative options.
On my last visit I was entertained most by watching dancers arrive at
the bar in civvies. They'd appear a few minutes later in dance
attire. One girl in particular arrived looking just like a prim and
proper office middle manger. Great to see the transformation to GoGo
dancer.
Review June 2009: Scaled Down
The bar seems to have scaled down a bit since my last visit and no
longer opens on weekday afternoons.
There were also a few less girls dancing.
But as always, the bar does very little in making me interested in
what's on offer. They had 6 of the nine girls dancing. Below average and
overdressed in bikinis. Hardly riveting stuff.
But because the bar has so many girls dancing, then there is hardly
any opportunity for a chat with lady drinks for the girls.
However it does provide a little aircon and a place to rest one's
wearing legs after a stroll along the beach. The staff are friendly
enough, the drinks are reasonable and there's no hassle.
They really need to get half the bar curtained off, and so cut back
the number of girls dancing. Then they might find a bit more time for
the customers. Who knows? a few guys may even then come back for a
return visit.
Review Dec 2008: Worse
Therefore Better
The bar seems to keep plodding on and if anything the number of
customers and dancing girls has dropped off a bit.
Before they used have about a dozen girls in the bar of which 9 would
be dancing. On my last visit they had only 9 girls of which 6 were
dancing.
Still lousy ratios of time available for the girls to sit with the
customers, but at least the 6 song wait is better than a 9 song wait.
It is all a bit of a shame as the girls seem pretty good at looking
after their customerd. If only they were given a bit more time I am sure
the bar would be worth visiting. The girls would definitely be more
entertaining playing with customers than dancing for them. They are a
little lacking in glitz and glamour
The music is well selected rock classic concert performances relayed
on 2 very large screens.
Otherwise the service girls and managers are friendly enough. The
drinks are reasonably priced and there's plenty of empty seats to lounge
around in.
Review April 2008: Unchanging
Nothing very much seems to improve at this bar but it seems to keep
soldiering on with a smattering of customers.
It would be tempting to think that a business consultant could
suggest a few blatantly obvious improvements.
The main problem is that there are simply too many girls dancing and
not enough circulating amongst the customers. The girls are simply not
pretty enough to entertain as dancers, and there is not any attempt to
entertain with nudity or sexy shows either.
The girls also have a habit of plonking themselves down by your side
and not shifting if you show no interest. This policy doesn't really
allow another girl to try her luck.
On the plus side, the service is good and and there is no hassle
whatsoever in the bar. The beer is reasonably priced and they play
farang friendly music
Review Aug 2007:
Pits Stop
This bar is a convenient point for an air con break
when walking the length of Jomtien beach. Unfortunately they have hardly
ever capitalised on the opportunity to extract a lady drink out of me.
The girls aren't that pretty, they are generally
overdressed and they spend most of their time dancing...
...And when they do find a few moments to
try for a lady drink, they are sort of already demoralised and give up
in the middle of trying. They end up just plonking themselves by your
side in defiant silence.
There seems no particular reason why the shouldn't
sharpen up their ideas...they just don't
Easily the worst gogo that I regularly go to!
