The following reviews are those that I come across on
the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own

may present a rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at
face value...go and see for yourself.

Air Port Club
New for 2008 from the people that brought you Nui's 2, Pinky Girl,
Hot Girls and New Star. Opened 1st Sep 2008
Beware of the very expensive lady drinks
Review June 2010: Afternoon Flight
For a change I tried Air Port on its afternoon shift. Surely not a
patch on the evening shift.
There were about a dozen girls in attendance of which 4 or 5 were
dancing on the front podium stages. Nothing going on in the fun stages
towards the back of the bar. The girls were mostly working just the
afternoon shift and were a few notches older and wiser than the evening
girls.
The dancing uniform was a bit naff with bras rather than bikini tops.
A couple of dancers were topless so this is presumably down to the
choice of the dancers.
There is a cheaper 55 Baht draft option in the afternoon but that is
because the bar is more or less on par with the cheaper options in the
afternoon.
I chatted to a girl who worked both shifts, which maybe was a
mistake, as she seemed all geared up for lady drink demands as if it
were a mega crowded, mega fun bar with lots of alternative options for
her. Only it wasn't, as there were only about 5 or 6 customers.
It is probably better to stick with the more specialist daytime gogos.
Less expectations on both sides makes them a more laid back option for
afternoon drinking.
Review from Malcolm, January 2010:
20 Baht notes
125 Baht for bottle of Singha but with the amount of naked flesh
around, well worth it, and no hassle at all for lady drinks.
OK if you're near the Jacuzzi or bed/stage at the back you will get a
tip pot rattled at you, keep a few 20 Baht notes in your wallet for
these occasions.
Review from Materialsman, Oct 2009:
10/10
I have
read on Forums that Airport is too loud, too expensive, too
small, but f**k me sideways, they are doing something right, and those
stewardess uniforms are something else, I love the way they appear to
have a sort of colour ranking with the uniforms, from the beautiful blue
of the stunning Hello girls and some service girls, there are also white
uniforms, red ones, and I even spotted one lady in a black suited get
up, very, very sexy in my view, and I am known amongst my peers as an
incorrigible pervert of the highest order, with a known predilection for
schoolgirl uniforms, but this stewardess concept done Airport Club
style blows that right out of the water, even the naked Jacuzzi girls
maintain tiny parts of the uniform.
The Club was absolutely chockers, virtually standing room
only, and I had to make my way back to the Jacuzzi areas before I could
squeeze myself onto a stool. If you think being trodden on is a
potential hazard in the Iron Club, then you wouldn't like Airport
one bit! It was so compressed in there wedged between the wall and the
first Jacuzzi, it was almost uncomfortable, but I didn't give a flying
f**k, there were so many naked girls squeezing past me that I managed to
cop a feel of more naked, tight ass in an hour than a Catholic Priest
gets in a lifetime! I feel I have to mention one of the Jacuzzi girls,
simply the largest pair of natural tits on a Thai girl I have seen in
years.
The girls here last night were just simply awesome, the
dancers, the show girls, the service girls, Hello girls and all, if you
can just block out the awful, loud car alarm music played in there, it's
the hottest joint in town, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring a newbie
into here for his first taste of life Pattaya style, I think it would be
enough to make him faint, even the Pope would have a ball here right
now, I just wish I had more time to be a regular visitor here.
Another girl on the platform next to the Jacuzzi was rubbing her
pussy up rigorously again a chrome pole, there were wet foam truncheons
being smacked against naked flesh with reckless abandon, there were
gorgeous, skimpy uniform clad girls gyrating on stage, total
bacchanalia, if I die, please place my ashes in an urn on the window
shelf right here opposite the Jacuzzi's, so I can enjoy the deliciously
decadent, debauched scene for all eternity. There is really no other
option available to me than to give this place a 10/10 based on last
night.
Review June 2009: Business
Class
The bar must be doing something right as it is very busy during a very low
season.
The bar is closest in feel to What's Up. It has half the bar devoted to gogo
dancing on a small set of stages and then at the back of the bar it has a water
feature and play stage with girls doing a continuous naughty show. And in common
with What's Up it has the Thai run potential to be a bit overly ruthless on the
quest for money.
The gogo dancers were mostly bikini clad with an odd one taking her top off. The
prettier girls were assigned to the fun stages at the back and were generally
having fun with the customers willing to feedback the fun.
The service staff make a mark with their fetching air stewardess uniforms which
definitely add a unique atmosphere to the bar.
Review from Materialsman, Dec 2008:
Peak Season
I was stuck in the only available space in the Club, well away from the bathtub
and Jacuzzi action, and right under a speaker close to the Club entrance,
nursing my 120 baht bottle of Heineken.
I will certainly be returning once the Christmas and New
Year Bar Fine wallet gouging levels are over, so, like a News of the World
reporter, after really enjoying the company, I made my excuses and left.
Review from Pattaya Addicts, Sept 2008:
Uniforms
This place has some service girls in great "air hostess" style
uniforms.

Review December 2010: Perfect.. for a
Hollywood prison musical
The bar would make a great looking set for a lavish Hollywood prison
musical. There are multiple level cages, balconies and cell blocks.
Perfect for teams of chorus girls to high kick in unison.
As to entertaining customers, seeking out sexy fun or takeaway
pleasures, then the theme doesn't work nearly so well. Perhaps the bar
designers had another demographic in mind, perhaps it is intended as a
cabaret for East European/Asian couples or perhaps as a swanky nightclub
for the Bangkok rich.
Anyway for the moment it is operating as a GoGo/Coyote bar so that is
the way that it will be reviewed.
The central stage featured 9 dancers of which 3 were attractive
topless inmates and the other 6 were a mixture of fully dressed coyotes,
half with light dresses maybe in a prison theme, the other half as
warders.
There was one lone girl dancing on the already deserted upper levels,
but being too far away, this just adds to the overall effect rather than
adding any real extra entertainment.
There's loads of lighting to give the bar to overall good effect, but
not enough of it is aimed at the stage. The bar is large so the stage
can be a bit far way, especially at the back of the bar. So being dimly
lit as well does not help much.
The hostesses are uniformed as warders. Which again looks
interesting, but may not be the right psychology. Surely most customers
have come to Thailand to seek out the more submissive types. A theory
backed up by the popularity of air hostess, nurse and schoolgirl
themes. I'd guess not many guys have much of a fetish for dominant
ladies.
But the hostesses were doing a good job of roaming the room in search
of guys who may like a little company. So a few plus points there.
The drinks prices are top end at around 135 Baht for most drinks
(including lady drinks), but with a small draft beer and soft drinks at
100 Baht. I guess the bar connections are hoping that the new Carlsberg
draft will have some sort of premium as 'something new', but being as it
is the cheapo house lager in many British pubs, then the premium concept
falls somewhat flat for me.
Perhaps the prices may fit with some top end swanky idea of where the
bar wants to go, but in terms of the basic but remote gogo/coyote
dancing on offer at the moment, this must count as the poorest value in
town. But of course there are always many in town to whom this is not an
important factor. What's up for instance does very well with prices
higher than Alcatraz.
It was amusing to see that the usual barfine notices on the walls are
replaced here by 600 Baht 'Bail' signs. Actually the price seems more
reasonable than previously reported suggesting a bit of downward
pressures on prices.
At the moment the bar seems to be doing reasonably well for customers
with plenty stopping by its excellent location to take a look. One has
to suspect that once the novelty wears off, then the bar will have to
dream up something special to justify the high end pricing. The nature
of the prison themed decoration of the bar would look very bleak and
barren if it scales down to half the amount of customers/dancers. (A bit
like the old concrete cavern of Taboo in Covent Garden).
Anyway the bar seemed fine for a beer or two with some pretty dancers
and hostesses interacting. But really there are many better bars for
girl watching, high energy atmosphere or hands on fun, all with much
cheaper drink options.
Review from Pattaya forums, Dec 2010:
Stay Out of Jail
It seems that Alcatraz A-GoGo has opened to disastrous opening
comments on the Pattaya forums.
The drinks prices are clearly a sore point with an across the board
pricing of 135 Baht, including the draft beer (in small glasses). The
draft beer is Carlsberg, which has novelty value in Thailand, but back
in my corner of Farangland, it is just the cheap house draft. Certainly
not a premium beer.
But having bought a high priced drink, or an extortionate Carlsberg,
then surely one could expect to sit back and enjoy some top notch
entertainment.
But I'm afraid not, the dancing girls are over dressed, and are
simply not of the required standard to justify the premium pricing.
There are girls dancing upstairs, but these are too far away, and too
poorly lit, to add anything to the entertainment.
The hostesses are dressed as jail warders. Perhaps good for the
theme, but not found very sexy by commentators so far. The wait staff
are scouts and the dancers have a zebra print prison uniform.
Not really much on offer for Farangs. Perhaps the bar has other
ideas, and is targetting Asian/Russian tourists or something.

Review from Rick of
pattaya-discover.com, March 2010: Big
Fan
I have to confess to being a big fan of AngelWitch. It's
formula is different from other bars and clubs in town. There is, or at
least a while back there was a high standard of performance,
choreographed scenes in beautiful costumes that were as creative and
artistic as they were erotic.
Those standards seem to have slipped a little in the last year. It's
still a great venue, one of the few venues in town where you can take a
date and she's going to enjoy the show.
My last visit a month ago left me disappointed, with it's reliance on
formula bawdy sketches that you could imagine seeing in any part of
town, or even participate in at some of the raunchier clubs in town like
Windmill and Babydolls. My date was bored. She sat through
the sketches unimpressed and spent half the time checking her watch.
On my visit this week, the show seems to have been revitalised
somewhat. We have some new comedy scenes, Tina Turner impersonations,
acts with a live Python, and of course the statuesque Oi is on stage in
many of the scenes, to impress us with her sensuality. Unfortunately,
the lady with the acrobatic talents, who could swing between the steel
poles with the skill of a trapeze artist, appears to be missing. Still
lots of entertainment, and a show well worth watching.
My date this night loved the show, she smiled and laughed throughout
the comedy acts and appreciated the beauty of the costumes and the
talents of the show girls and actors. She watched in awe as the girls
descended from the overhead gantry, sliding down the chrome poles.
We decided to stay for the next show and watched as the go-go girls
descended onto the stage. The go-go dancers at AngelWitch are amongst
the hottest on Walking Street.
Great entertainment, well worth a visit.
Beers are Bt 150, soft drinks Bt 125.
Reader review Dec 2009: Hassle
all the time
There are many girls and a show, but drinks are quite expensive
(juice or soft drink 150 Baht).
The worst of all is the staff, who hassle all the time asking you to
order more drinks. It's not a place I would recommend.
Bar fine 800. Lady 2000 one hour. If you want the lady all the night,
get ready to pay 3000 up. There are many places much better than these
one.
Review from Pattaya-Addicts,
November 2009: Hassle
Although the shows are noted as high quality the bar is currently
taking a persistent knock on the Pattaya forums for hassle.
Complaints include a minimum drinking speed for customers and
continuous drinks hassle from the staff.
Drinks are expensive and the girls quote short and long term rates to
match.
Review from
BiLLYiSaKiD,
May 2009: Homecoming
I first discovered Angelwitch in April of 2008 with a couple US
Marine buddies. Even with the high prices we were addicted from the
start! We even saw a lot of couples there…
We ended up there every night and I went home with the same hot lil’
cutie every time. And I thought I was a true butterfly! Not with this
one. Mamasan always made her wait for me… Now that’s service!
…When I managed to make it back to Pattaya in August, my little darling
was no longer working there but mamasan was and she made damn sure that
I had my pick of any girl on stage. She even offered to call my original
girl back just for me. I declined of course and took full advantage of
mama’s kind offer and walked out with a different girl every couple of
nights. With mama as a friend and as long as I took care of the girls,
no hard feelings. Not even so much as a dirty look… Admittedly that
freedom to butterfly was paid for in smiles, tips and ping pong balls!
Because my first drink was always with the head mamasan or the staff my
friends and I were always well taken care of… I’ll always make a point
to drop in to Angelwitch for a little “Home Coming” whenever I’m in
Pattaya.
Strong Points:
- Very Friendly Staff
- Clean!
- Best Sexy Shows…
- Best Dressed/Almost Dressed Dancers
- Date Friendly
Weak Points:
- Expensive
- Not the prettiest or best dancers
Review from Pattaya Talk,
April 2009: Great Shows
Still providing great choreographed shows although short on
customer/girl interaction and lacking much in the way of eroticism.
A good place to take a girl if you’ve already barfined and you can
stomach the sky-high drink prices.
Review Nov 2008: Popular
I'm no longer a regular visitor to the bar due to the very expensive
drinks.
The shows are worth the money for those that like choreographed
shows. In fact the shows are about the best in town. I also find
it a very good place to go with visitors who may not like the mongering
bars that I prefer.
However most of the time I am in participation mode rather than
watching mode, so paying extra for shows doesn't appeal.
But there are an awful lot of visitors in town who prefer watching
over participating, so the bar does deservedly very well indeed.

Babydolls
A-GoGo
Opened October 2006, changed hands in Feb 2007, March
2007 and May 2008. It is now one of most noted interactive gogos
Review January 2012: Lap Dancing
Babydolls is still going strong with its ever successful formula of
being hands on and friendly.
The only time the bar disappoints is when it is full, which is quite
often in high season. Detracting nothing from the bar, it is one of the
worst places to be when it is busy and you haven't got a girl on your
lap. After all, who wants to sit in a bar watching everyone else have
great fun.
But when you have got a girl on your lap then it is surely a great
place to be.
The bar features about 8 girls on a central stage in various stages
of undress. There are also 2 naughty show points with 2 girls at each.
Although these are almost legendary in naughtiness, they are not the
most popular seats in the bar. Perhaps too much of a continuous
expectation of tips.
The bar is quite similar to the somewhat smaller Windmill Club, but
has one advantage over the competition. When there are sufficient girls,
Babydolls splits them into 3 teams of dancers that swap every 4 songs or
so. So the girls can spend 2/3rds of their time on their customers laps.
When there are less girls then they are split into 2 teams (as per
Windmill) and they stay on your lap half of the time. The short dancers
rosters of just 4 songs is well appreciated.
Drinks prices are very reasonable and the service is good (unless the
waitresses have been cornered on someone's lap for a while).
Review February 2011: Top Ten
There are two basic schools of thought about what makes a good GoGo.
The first is that GoGos should feature the best looking girls in town.
The second is that bars should feature interaction, interaction and more
interaction.
Baby Dolls is surely the top rated of the latter school. But it also
so good at providing friendly girls and staff, that it also makes its
mark on those seeking more elite girls than perhaps are on offer. This
double success seems to get the bar rated in most people's top ten.
I sometimes wonder why a few more gogos don't adopt the simple but
effective policy of offering a friendly drinking partner to more or less
everybody who takes a seat in the bar. After all that is what most (but
not all) customers go into GoGos for.
Review August 2010: Reliable Customer
Care
The bar is sticking to a good system, and has now maintained high
standards of fun for a long stint.
The bar has two threads of entertainment. There are the naughty show
girls that have a circuit of the the play mat stage and then the
Jacuzzi, working in teams of two. They are amongst the naughtiest in
town with props such as bananas being put to good use. Plenty of
customers will head straight to stage side seats for the 'shows'.
The other option is the more traditional centre stage gogo dancing.
The available girls split into 3 teams (2 later on the evening when a
fair few girls tend to drift away with customers). The girls dance just
a few songs before a shift change for the next team. This works really
well as the girls spend most of their time earning tips and lady drinks
by sitting with customers.
The girls seem to generally prefer sitting on your lap rather than
sitting at your side. I am sure this does wonders in terms of tips
earned.
It is one Pattaya's best bars for a reliable chance of good close up,
and hands on, customer care.
The only times I have ever made a hasty getaway is when the bar gets
a bit crowded and there aren't enough girls to go around. There's
nothing worse than watching other people enjoying themselves so much
when you are missing out.
Review April 2010: Always Good
Baby Dolls remains consistent to its hands on approach to customer
care, and rightfully seems always busy.
Whilst other bars, with standoffish girls and few customers, must
surely look on in envy. But in reality popular Walking Street bars seem
to have two basic paths to success with a bar full of customers. One is
to have the prettiest girls in town to look at, and the other is to get
girls who are interactive with the customers. After all these are the
two things that customers come to Pattaya for.
Baby Dolls has a central stage for gogo dancing, a play mat for
naughty shows and a similarly naughty Jacuzzi.
The dancers have a nice short stint on stage for just 4 songs. So
customers are happy to wait for their playmate to return to their sides.
Early on in the evening there are enough girls to run 3 shifts but as
the barfine toll takes its inecitable course, the bar will drop
down to 2 shift working. This means that early on the girls can spend
2/3 of the time with customers and later on, 1/2 their time.
I find that Baby Dolls is one of the few bars that offer a
consistently high chance of finding fun enough to stay for a fair few
beers.
Review by jj, July 2009: Most
naughty to most demure
Baby Dolls continues to enjoy its place among the top tier of Pattaya
haunts. The bar has it all and gets it all right! From most naughty to
most demure -- even the service staff -- are friendly and attractive.
If she sees you without a lady, Mamasan comes over to ensure that all
is well. Plenty of action everywhere one looks. If there can be any
complaint whatsoever it is that the electrical system seems bit dodgy.
On two consecutive visits, the power has failed but within 10 minutes
the fault was located and music and a/c restored. .
Review July 2008: Better Than
Ever
The bar is very good as outlined in previous reviews. Unfortunately
for the high season months it was a bit too good. I gave the bar a miss
for a few months simply because it was hard to find a seat, let alone a
girl to take care of you.
However the low season has depleted the excess customers and again
there is a good chance to take part in some of the almost legendary
entertainment.
There are touch feely shows on the play mat, the Jacuzzi and also on
part of the main stage. There is also more traditional gogo dancing on
the central stage and a few table dancing stages.
The service is friendly but sometimes a little stretched by the
amount of customers.
The drinks prices are very reasonable.
There are plenty of pretty girls on hand but maybe not quite the top
selection in Pattaya, as maybe the interactivity is a little too much
for many girls.

News from eyebee on Pattaya-Addicts,
September 2011: 50-50
For a couple of weeks now, in Baccara (upstairs), they have had the
stupid rule that the girls must dance with their tops on for 30 minutes,
then can take them off for 30 minutes.
It changes on the hour and half-hour. Whoever thought this up must
take first prize for stupidity! I was in there last night (during the
topless half hour), and the place was packed. Many Japanese and farangs
all having a good time. Then at exactly half past the hour all the girls
put their tops on. You have never seen a place empty so quickly!
Review October 2010: Happier than
Happy
Baccara now seems to be the dominant bar of the Happy group, and seems
able to command the lion's share of very good looking girls.
The layout downstairs is very much a traditional bar for watching
dancers, rather than for interaction, but the upstairs affords a bit
more privacy for those that like a bit of interactivity with the girls.
In fact this upstairs ice breaker has perhaps changed attitudes more
generally than an upstairs-downstairs thing, and there are plenty of
girls to be seen sitting on laps downstairs too.
The bar still uses a very long dance roster with many girls on stage,
just rotating around one place per song.
The bar is very popular with Japanese customers suggesting that the
girls' rates will surely be on the high side. But there are plenty of
farangs too, so it is in no sense exclusive.
But of course there is a cheap draft beer. Other drinks prices are not
so cheap, but not out of order either.
I have a feeling that the Happy A-GoGo placard proclaiming something
along the lines of: 'Yes we are no 1' should perhaps be amended to
direct customers across the street to Baccara.
Review by Rick of
www.pattaya-discover.com,
April
2010: Upstairs Downstairs
Baccara
is one of the most impressive clubs in town. The owners also run Baccara
in Bangkok, and they've a created a unique concept that has the
potential to be a great go-go bar. It seems to have almost everything a
go-go club needs to be successful. There are two floors, effectively two
clubs in one, as each floor has a different ambiance.
The downstairs area has a large central stage, but no shower, Jacuzzi
or play area. There's about 20 girls dancing in rotation. The stage is
big enough for a dozen girls or more, but there's usually eight go-go
dancers on stage, dressed in bikinis and fish net stockings, and high
heels. Some nights the bikini and stockings are white, other nights the
outfit is black. Pretty standard stuff. The girls are attractive enough
and reasonably friendly. There's great service, good music that doesn't
make conversation impossible, and reasonable drinks prices.
The upstairs area has a sunken dance stage with a glass floor and
fireman's pole for rapid descent to the lower floor. If you're in the
right position on either floor, you can see the dancers on both floors.
The girls outfit on the upper floor is different, a short skirt and
bikini top made of a see-through material, and ankle length basketball
style shoes and socks. Quite different from the ground floor girls'
outfits, and it's obviously designed for more fun and action. The girls
generally remove their bikini top, and don't wear panties. When the
opportunity arises, they create their own fun and games, swinging on the
chrome poles, and engaging in all kinds of simulated sex acts.
Add to this some loosely choreographed shows later in the evening,
basically different costumes, and some new moves and you have the recipe
for a great evenings entertainment.
Since the opening in December there have been a few changes to the
upstairs layout, with the addition of two small dancing stages, but they
are not well positioned and get little attention from customers.
The initial impression when you walk into the club, is a formal
atmosphere, a large central dance floor, male serving staff, and no play
area. This cool, somewhat inhibiting atmosphere has an impact on the
girls behaviour. They don't spend much time making eye contact, they
seem totally engaged in watching their own image in the wall mirrors,
and chatting with their friends on stage. Great eye candy, but not a lot
of fun if you are looking for interaction.
I had more success making eye-contact with the girls on the floor
above, while sitting in the downstairs section, as they flirted with me
through the glass floor, lifting their microscopic skirts to reveal no
panties and great contours.
The girls in the downstairs bar at Baccara are good looking but not
exceptional as I would have expected. The successful clubs attract hot
girls, but that doesn't seem to be happening at Baccara. Perhaps the
girls understand the reasons why, better than the owners. The girls are
friendly enough, once you make the connection, but the initial
impression is that connection seems harder to make here than at many of
the other Pattaya go-go bars.
The upstairs girls are a lot more interested in interaction with
customers. Their outfit suggests fun from the moment you see them. A
lack of wall mirrors shifts their focus to customers, and the sunken
dance floor means the dancers are at eye level with those sitting in the
armchairs around the central stage. The upstairs bar also has about 20
dancers, with 8 girls rotating on stage. There seems to be a high
turnover, with new faces there every time I visit the bar.
As
part of the fun atmosphere on the upper floor, customers throw Bt 20
notes or the more expensive ping pong balls, (for which the girls get Bt
20 a piece). The girls shriek and squeal as they race around the floor
trying to catch flying notes.
With all the skill, experience, and ingenuity, not to mention
expense, that went into creating Baccara, it should be the one of the
best clubs in town, ranking alongside all the other great go-go clubs in
Pattaya, like Airport, Peppermint, What's Up, SuperGirl, Happy and
Windmill. It's certainly a great club, but it lacks the magic that you
feel from the moment you walk into Airport, the energy that you feel at
Peppermint, the almost endless stream of cute girls that Happy has, and
a soul that permeates Windmill, ensuring every visit is a fun occasion.
While the service levels are very efficient, the male serving staff
put a damper on activities. When there's no service girls, there's no
opportunity to interact with them like at Windmill, or New Living Dolls,
where it seems a part of the evenings entertainment.
A combination of men serving staff, a large central stage and girls
who are more interested in their own reflection, than making eye
contact, creates a formal almost hands-off, unfriendly feeling.
These criticisms may seem harsh, but at the end of the day, most
go-go girls in Pattaya would like to interact with you in the style of
Airport or Windmill, if only the infrastructure and the operational
management allowed it.
I've had several impromptu interactions with girls at Baccara, that
suggest they are willing but may be a little inhibited with the
formality of the place.
On one evening, I was climbing up the spiral staircase, to the upper
floor. I stopped to allow two of the girls to pass me. They were in no
hurry to reach the lower floor and blocked my passage with their bodies,
pinning me against the rail and smothering me all kinds of affectionate
embraces. An unexpected encounter that brought a big smile to my face!
Baccara is definitely worth a visit. While it's clear that the owners
are not trying to emulate the raunchy environment at clubs like
BabyDolls and Windmill, they have a more formal, up market style
in mind. The result is they have created an ambiance, at least in the
downstairs area, that's somewhat chilly and unfriendly. Most customers
don't make it, to the upstairs bar. So they miss out on the fun part of
Baccara.
Time will tell how successful their concept will be.
Review March 2010: Rapidly
Evolving
The bar must be doing something right as it has rapidly become one of
Pattaya's favourites.
So surely time to pay another visit.
There was a generally lively atmosphere and plenty of girls on stage
and off. They were a well above average set of dancers, both in terms of
attractive girls and in putting an effort into dancing.
There were a dozen girls on stage changing 2 at a time. This means a
dancing roster of a longish, but typical 6 songs. The girls were mostly
topless but a few were more coy.
It seemed to be a fun place to drink.
I would have stayed longer but I got pissed off by some uncalled for
heavy pressure from ping pong ball sellers. I can easily ignore such
nonsense but the 2 girls then moved on to a newbie sitting next to me.
They were way too aggressive and I didn't really want to stay in a bar
that allows their customers to be treated like that.
Note to newbies, don't waste your money on ping pong balls. The
moment the whooping and laughter has died down, your contribution will
have been forgotten. The same amount of money will be more appreciated
as individual tips to the girls that provide you with personal company.
They will usually remember you on your next visit and will be keen to
hook up again.
Review February 2010: Bar
Psychology
Baccara must be one of the most focused bar designs in Pattaya. The
downstairs floor is totally dominated by the large central stage
sporting a dozen girls with plenty of space for more.
On one side of the plush bar there is tiered comfortable seating
overlooking the auditorium stage. The bar goes one step further than
most, by providing ring side armchairs. Inevitably these are facing the
stage and this adds to the domineering focus of the dancing stage.
There were a dozen dancers on stage either topless or bikini clad
depending n the wishes of the girl. They were surely above average and
were putting more effort into their dancing than most bars. The music
was dance friendly and set quite loud but sensibly not as loud as some.
There is an upstairs bar area where the dance floor is transparent
and located directly above the downstairs stage. Presumably if you are
sitting around the main stage you can look up to the upper floor dancers
and see that they are wearing less than their downstairs sisters. I
couldn't see anything of note from the side seats though.
The wait staff is male and they are dressed in striking polo shirts.
Presumably not intended, but this is very reminiscent of bouncers and
security staff at Farangland venues. The fact that these guys tend to
circulate around the stage whilst serving, gives the impression of them
patrolling and guarding the girls.
The whole bar design reminded me so much of the places back home
where I really would rather not be. With unattainable pretty girls
hiding behind glass or else guarded by bouncers ready to slap you down
should you make any attempt to get near the dancers.
Of course this is simply not the reality at Baccara. The girls are as
friendly and approachable as you would expect. And the guys really are
there just to serve you a drink.
Maybe just me, but I didn't really enjoy being reminded of the
restricted fun allowed in strip bars back home.
Review by Ishi, December 2009:
Happy Prices
Baccara A-GoGo had a soft opening on 17th December with an opening
party to be held on 18th December.
The stage of the 1st floor is almost the same as Happy in Pattaya.
Bikinis or topless and the uniforms are changed daily
And the 2nd floor is almost the same as Baccara in Bangkok. The
dancers are topless with short white shirts and mini skirts. And most of
them don't put on under pants.
The stage of the 2nd floor is made of glass, so it's possible to see
the dancers from the 1st floor. There are a lot of sofas for the
customers like Bangkok.
The number of the dancers are much less than those of Bangkok. 1st
floor:11, 2nd floor:7.
All prices (including Happy Hour, Bar Fine and so on) are the same as
Happy Group.
Baccarat began shows on 18 Dec. The show girls are from Beach Club. I
watched 2 shows one is naked dancers and the other is topless
dancers.

Note that there have been several reports of girls working this bar
who don't go with customers. If this is your intention then it may be
worthwhile asking before investing heavily in lady drinks.
Review December 2011: Overdressed
I popped by at 11ish on a weekday evening. The bar had a decent
amount of customers but was not very full.
The bar is a nice size with the now mandatory central stage
surrounded by comfortable bench seating around the sides of a square
bar. There are stools around the stage but there weren't any takers.
It seems a sensible layout without being quite as glitzy as other
recent newcomers.
On stage were about 10 coyote dancers doing the usual gogo
shuffle. One of them was particularly attractive and the rest were
about par for the course (which is actually pretty good). There was
yet another team of coyote dancers sitting chatting amongst
themselves whilst waiting for their turn to dance.
There did not seem to be much life to the bar in terms of
customer interaction, but a couple of bikini dancers were sitting
with customers.
Shortly a couple of younger guys came in and it wasn't long
before they had 3 good looking coyotes by their side. It is often
the way with coyotes, they tend to be a bit choosier than most.
Actually things got a little more interesting on stage at the
change of shift. The next team of half a dozen less inhibited
dancers shed most of their clothes. Previous reports had suggested
that the majority of dancers were nudity averse, so I assume that
the girls on the stage were the showgirls. The numbers on stage were
still made up with a couple of coyotes though.
The drinks prices are well reasonable with a 55 Baht draft beer
and 115 Baht lady drinks.
Overall the bar seems to have made a solid start and is worth a
visit. I'm not sure what the long term intentions are in terms of
having so many coyotes, hopefully just a start up strategy. I
suspect that if they hang round for too long, the customers won't. I
will certainly be back for another look though.
News from Ishi, December 2011: First Impressions
The dancers were divided into 3 teams. Each team having 8-10 dancers.
The 1st team was made up of 8 bikini gogo dancers, and 2 of them were
topless. The 2nd and 3rd teams were disappointingly all coyote.
The bar will also feature shows.

Review from Brian, December 2011: Only for the Rich and
Foolish
I had my first visit at Baron Club ago go in Sio Diamond at 10.00
pm.
Ordered a Heineken, only one other customer there, went to pay my
bill , Heineken 140 baht,
Very overpriced for what's inside.
But early days yet.
News November 2011: Just Awaiting Customers
I popped by on a quiet mid week evening and the bar looked very
promising.
There were half a dozen girls dancing on the long narrow centre
stage. The girls were above average and were dancing in the complete
range of clothing from bikini to none.
I spoke to one girl who was a devotee of mamasang Miki and was
working to pay for university. She was good company and it made for
a pleasant visit.
There was not really enough customers in the bar to warrant a
Jacuzzi show a-la X-Zone but Miki says that some of her girls are up
for the required naughtiness.
It seemed a bit academic for the moment though, as a quiet bar
generally seems to be a coy affair. It's as if the girls are
communally shy until such a time as that they can all be naughty
together.
Anyway the bar looks as if it should do the biz. The only
question is whether enough customers will get to know it.
News October 2011: Re-opened
The bar was converted to Baron Club which opened on 28th October
2011.
Review September 2011: Too Soon to Tell
The bar has undergone something of a refit in its long lay off.
The current incarnation features a long thin stage with comfortable
bench seating running down each side. This is becoming a very common
design in Pattaya due mainly to just being sensible.
The bar has also fallen in line with a cheap beer to at least get
customers in on a look-see. At the moment there is no draft but the
bar is offering bottles of Chang at the very cheap price of 59 Baht.
On its second day the bar was quite lively with a fair few
customers. A Thai manager and mamasang were enthusiastically
coordinating the available resources.
The music is modern as per most bars, but is at levels that allow
it to be dominant for dancing, but not so that customers need ear
muffs.
It looks as if everything is more or less in place to have a
decent stab at being a GoGo, but just for the moment it is woefully
lacking ladies. There were just 6 on dance duty with 3 taking the
stage at a time. There were a couple that would turn a few heads
though. The dress code was bikini or topless.
It is way too soon to judge a bar on the dancers in the first few
days of opening. It is very tough to get girls before a bar is
established.
If the bar gets some good dancers, then it should do well, if it
doesn't, it wont.

Review January 2011: Improving in
Decline
I had a very enjoyable visit at a peak time on a January evening.
And one has to notice that the customer count must have been somewhat
disappointing for the connections. There was a fair bit of ebbing and
flowing but the ebbs were very sparse. However this situation was not
the slightest bit disappointing for customers. The girls were a bit more
keen than usual to get interactive and there were plenty of them
available.
There is a much wider range of girls now that a couple of years back
when the bar could command a little more exclusivity. But there were
still a fair few very attractive girls. In fact I think this more
pragmatic approach to recruitment may have helped the bar. One girl in
particular, that made my visit a treat, had learned her trade in a far
more generally friendly bar than Beach Club has ever been.
Actually having set yourself up with some good company the bar is
generally very customer friendly. There is cheap beer and the lady
drinks are great value at 105 Baht. There were no pestering mamasangs
and the service was polite and efficient.
And even better, the bar has an excellent rostering policy for girls
entertained by customers. The basic dance roster is ludicrously long for
girls without customers, but if the lady drinks are forthcoming then on
her next turn to dance, her roster is reduced to just 3 songs. And if
the drinks keep flowing, on her next turn she dances just one song.
Somehow the decline in exclusivity seems to have brought the bar down
to a far more customer friendly proposition than before.
Review June 2010: No Hassle
The bar has been a successful part of Pattaya nightlife for as long
as I can remember. In town of spirals, Beach Club gets top notch girls,
the customers follow and hence the bar can recruit the top girls.
The bar features table dancing, mostly at tables with a bay of
comfortable bench seating. There is also a slightly larger table
doubling up as a centre stage.
The girls do a very long and slow rotation around the tables. Not
really a bar where this is a big issue as most customers seem to be
content to watch the dancers, no doubt in anticipation of a takeaway
selection. There are also hostesses in evening gowns.
The bar is a no hassle bar in that girls generally only approach if
signaled to do so.
There's a cheap draft beer and prices are reasonable for a popular
bar. In common with the other bars of the Happy group, the wait staff is
mostly male.
Review from materialsman, October 2009:
A solid 9/10
I really like the
Beach Club, although I seldom look at the dancing girls displaying
their freshly shaven havens, not because I am shy or favour the
bushy bush look, I actually do prefer a bald or trimmed pussy,
it's just that I think this place has some of the most beautiful
hostesses in town so my gaze is always diverted to them, plus you can
actually sit quite comfortably on the sofas and enjoy the beer without
being hassled if that's what you prefer.
There was some pretty
fine looking girls dancing in actual fact, and although the Bar was
fairly busy, it doesn't seem to be popular amongst the locals doing
their nightly crawls, no problem with that, all the better for me, a
solid 9/10 in my humble opinion!
Review from materialsman, July 2009:
Hostesses
Into Beach Club, stepping through the curtain about 9 p.m. and perhaps
because it was a Friday night, quite a reasonable crowd in there.
I am not a
lover of the table dancing type places, but certainly this place doesn't seem to
be on many Board Members nightly perambulations, in fact I did a search for
reviews and got pretty much nothing by way of a recent reviews of the place.
Now, being a shy sort of chap, I find it hard to look the girls in the ahem, eye
so to speak, in this place, and frankly I have never seen much eye candy up on
the tables to make it worthwhile, what I have always found however, is that the
place has some of the most beautiful and smartly dressed hostesses in Pattaya,
and sure enough within about ten minutes we were hit upon by two beauties, one
that grabbed me was a real honey, and the one with my friend was gorgeous, slim,
sort of back combed hair, loosely modeled on Amy Winehouse, except without the
skanky tattoos and heavy drug problem, an assumption confirmed when one of her
songs was played on the sound system, that fact in itself must make the Beach
Club kind of unique.
Review Jan 2009: Never Changing
I have been popping by Beach Club for 4 years and I am sure that just
about nothing has changed. Maybe there is now a little less emphasis on
a 20 Baht tip for the girl to squat down. Presumably the novelty has
worn off somewhat.
The bar is always popular, the girls are consistently attractive and
there are always plenty in attendance.
Maybe the draft beer has gone up 5 Baht in the 4 years which shows
consistency in attractive pricing.
And for some reason I consistently fail to find any girl showing much
interest in your reviewer.
I guess it is more a bar for watching than playing but the management
of the bar consistently know what's best to get the customers in.
Truely a Pattaya success story.
Review April 2008: Watching
The bar always seems popular. There are plenty of pretty girls who
dance on a pretty long circuit. Most girls are knickerless under skirts
with open blouse. Some wear more and some wear less.
A few customers were being looked after by the girls, but mostly this
seems to be bar for watching rather than interacting.
Small beer glasses mean that the 55 Baht draft price tag is not quite
the bargain it appears. But nothing to complain about.
Tips are the usual order of the day to get a closer look at the
dancer. But saying that I didn't spot too many customers with a fistful
of 20's to give out.
Always good to see a popular but I left it for those that were
enjoying and moved on to a more interactive bar.

Byblos GoGo
Bar
Coyote dancing on the ground floor. The 1st floor is now a GoGo bar
as opposed to the previous bells
& whistles show and there is another on the 2nd
floor. Not sure whether this is just overflow when busy.
Review, October 2011: Reincarnated
Having heard that the pussy tricks shows had been given the push,
I thought it was time to take a look.
And indeed the upstairs bar now operates as a standard GoGo.
There were about 10 girls in the bar, enough for 2 shifts of
dancers. 4 girls were dancing on the centre stage and one girl was
soaping herself down in the Jacuzzi. The two teams would swap every
4 or 5 songs. For 1 or 2 of these songs two of the main stage girls
stripped off their bikinis for a bit of a lesbian show.
The girls were about average for Walking Street, which is pretty
good, and two of the girls would surely get plenty of barfines. At
least if a few more customers were to turn up. A few customers
turned up whilst I was there and they all got a pretty girl turn up
to politely ask if they would like company.
I spotted an old friend from Shark who would have told me a bit
more about the bar, had she been working there a bit longer. I may
have stayed a bit longer but for her request for another tequila the
moment she downed the previous one. Perhaps a temporary hang over
from the pussy show incarnation of the bar, but the service staff
were a bit pushy for tips, and there was a tip box on hand for the
rather lame lesbian show. It was nothing that couldn't be handled by
a stern 'no', and will probably subside if the bar gets popular with
the farangs.
There were reports that the bar may be targetting a hands on sort
of Jacuzzi show etc, but it was hard to tell on this visit as there
wasn't really enough customer momentum to get that sort of thing
going.
I suspect the bar bar will struggle to get people up the stairs.
It has been a pussy tricks bar way too long, and will be out of
consideration for a large portion of the target audience. Also any
assertive attempts by the welcome staff to get people upstairs will
probably just end up convincing people that it is still a bells and
whistles place. At least they are trying to entice customers in with
a 45 Baht draft beer.
I'll give another go though.
News from Ishi, October 2011: Returned to GoGo
The upstairs bar has changed format and ditched the bells and
whistles show. It is now a standard format GoGo complete with a
Jacuzzi.
The mamasang learnt her trade at Windmill, so there is a good
chance that the bar could follow a similar style. I do hope so.
The downstairs bar remains as a coyote bar, but the cheap 45 Baht
draft beer is available all night in both bars.
Review February 2010: A Little
Bit Different
At first glance the downstairs bar operates pretty much as per most
Walking Street GoGos. There is a small dancing area in the middle of the
bar were a few girls dance in the usual range of attire.
The remainder of the girls circulate amongst the customers in the
comfortable seating arranged in bays. And hands on fun is definitely
available at this bar.
There is usually a mix of girls with a similar range to nearby bars.
But there seems to be a different set of rules with regards to
interactions with the girls and tipping.
No doubt down to attracting more Asian customers than farangs, due to
its Pratamnak Road location. Perhaps understandably, the bar has adapted
to these changing needs.
My impression is that one has to be very quick to buy a lady drink,
lest you get categorised as a time waster.
Having made the upfront investment, things return pretty much to the
usual pattern for a while with the girls being good fun. However after
an unspecified while, I got asked for some outlandish requests for
hundreds of Baht tips. No problems in refusing these requests but time
to leave anyway.
Anyway a pleasant enough couple of visits, but not on my regular
circuit.
News June 2009: Re-opened
The bar re-opened on 27th June
News June 2009: Closed
The bar is reported to have closed. As yet unclear whether this is
down to lack of trade or maybe a police closure. The target audience for
bells & whistles shows though has been hard hit by economic, political
and flu woes.
Some of the ByBlos girls are now to be found at Club Boesché
Review June 2009: Pretty Girls
I heard rumours that some of the girls that had previously moved on
from Coyotee's A-GoGo had ended up in By-Blos. And indeed, the
downstairs bar is now boasting 10 or so very pretty girls. I can't say I
recognised any of them though.
They also have made a good improvement in that some of the girls now
dance naked.
I was also intrigued by the booth that was curtained off, surely
looks a promising idea.
I would have stayed longer but the girls didn't seem to be overly
interested in customers and the 65 Baht draft beer was a bit off. But
interesting enough to schedule in another visit.
Review December 2008: Bells and
More Bells
I was ushered in to the ground floor bar with half a dozen coyote
dancers. I am afraid I associate excess clothes with an excess of prices
and an excess of unfriendly attitude, so I back pedalled and opted to go
upstairs.
I did note that it seems strange to have different styles of
entertainment on different floors when none of the staff pointed out
available options. I didn't spot any signs suggesting that there was a
gogo upstairs either. One presumes that the welcome staff think they
know best where to guide people.
Upstairs the bar was well into a bells and whistles shows And if you
like that sort of thing, then this bar seems to do the complete works
with every variation on the theme that I have seen to date. It was
interminable with not a single act being anywhere near sexy.
There were dancers waiting in the wings but the tedium of the show
predictably got to me first.
Draft beer was a reasonable 65 Baht and the service was good. No
hassle from the girls either.

Review April 2011: Going Nowhere Fast
I have stopped by a couple of times and the bar has proved
consistently disappointing.
The bar is a little understaffed in terms of dancers and the
usual operation is that the bar just has two of three dancers on the
circulating stage. Then as soon as they finish there stint they go
and congregate at the doorway to try and give a busy impression to
anybody who may stick their head round the door.
The trouble is, once customers are inside the customers get to
drink a lonely drink before inevitably moving on. The girls just
seem to mostly ignore the customers.
On the plus side there have been a few good looking dancers in
attendance.
There's nothing about the bar that is particularly wrong, just
not quite friendly enough.
Review November 2010: Third Spin
I popped in at around midnight and the bar was doing a very good
trade. There were very few seats available, and those that were
left, were crammed in small uncomfortable stools. So I gave it a
miss and tried the next night at an earlier hour.
The outside of the bar now features lots of red, nicely
highlighting the Carousel logo. A few brownie points for the
designers are in order.
I found a more comfortable bench seat to survey the bar and sat
down with a 59 baht draft, politely served by a guy. Male service
never seems a good idea for the bar as it takes away an opportunity
for lady drinks and tips. And from the customers point of view,
service girls can be a good stand in for dancers, should there be
too few dancers in the bar.
Anyway, the overall atmosphere of the bar was lively and the
girls seemed to be having fun swarming around a generous newbie.
Actually there weren't many other girls sitting with customers, so
perhaps a negative point there.
The bar is pretty similar to what it was before the change of
ownership. There were about 8 girls on stage plus of course the
Carousel wooden horse. They were all slowly rotating, whilst dancing
in bikinis or less (and just body paint for the horse). A pretty
good selection of girls for the early days of a bar.
There was also a newly installed Jacuzzi with just one naked
soaped up naked bather. Its not really well placed to be much of a
spectacle for the majority of the bar though, but there are few
stools with a poolside view.
For the moment the bar is lively and buoyed up with early days
enthusiasm. There wasn't quite the sense of fun and boisterousness
that suggests the bar will complete with the likes of Airport and
Iron, but it made a good early impression.
Review November 2010: Second Spin
Checked out carousel last night. Vodka was 130 Baht, not 120 as
previously noted.
Owner is not the Happy/Peppermint group, as previously reported,
but actually owned Super Models way back when. The main mamasan
(there are 4!) worked for that owner, who has been out of the gogo
biz since Supermodels fell off the runway.
Another mamasan most recently of Misty's was there with about 4
girls brought from there.
They did a nice spruce up. Looks more modern. They need more
girls, but the mamas know, and are working at it
Review by Ishi, November 2010: First

few dancers put on see through mini skirt), were dancing on the main

News from Ishi January 2012: Showered Out
The Jacuzzi features have been removed and replaced by table dancing
stages.
News December 2011: Waiting for High Season
Casnovy has occasionally flattered and has been up there with the
most popular bars on Walking Street. It seems to have dropped off the
radar a bit in recent times, but it is still a loud and lively venue
that may better suit partying visitors, rather than seasoned expats.
My last visit was pretty much as normal, with a fair amount of
attractive dancers amongst the three rows of dancers. Two of which are
made up of table dancing positions and the middle row is the centre
stage where the girls seem a little less inhibited about clothes.
The dancers are a pretty mixed bunch in terms of being friendly, some
were hiding away just awaiting their white knight, whilst others were
playing the crowds.
I was looked after by a very friendly service girl on my last visit.
She was playing some strange game of keeping one foot on the floor and
never quite sitting down. Something to do with house rules that service
girls aren't allowed to sit with customers. She did a good job of
sitting with this customer, even though it wasn't quite legally sitting.
On the whole the bar made for a decent visit. But I think it is
rather waiting for the high season crowds so as to realise the
true spirit of the bar.
News August 2010: Small Beer
Casnovy have replaced their large draft beer glasses with small
glasses, still the same price.
News from Ishi Aug 2010: Water Works
They've made 2 small bath-tubs (1 meter square, no head shower) on
the left hand of the entrance. There are sofa-seats around the bath-tub.
Review July 2010: Shown the Door
I'm not out much these days due to shitty business and no money and,
apparently, I'm not the only ones. I did go for 2 of the big beers at
Casnovy last night and noticed there were no shows being offered.
Chatted with one of the longtime mamasans and said all the showgirls
had been shown the door. No more shows at Casnovy. The owner decided
that the showgirl salaries were just too expensive given the shit
economy.
They've been supplanted by 2 rotations of nude girls who, when not
dancing, sit with customers, smile on stage, have a good attitude and
only a notch below the showgirls on the looks scale. As opposed to
showgirls, who look down their own noses on stage then go sit in the
back afterward.
I, for one, would hugely applaud more bars – particularly
farang-owned ones – following suit, knocking the showgirls they elevated
to such lofty perches, down a couple pegs. Dancers? You can stay.
Showgirls? You're fired.
Loved it!
Review February 2010:
Consistent
The bar was one of the market leaders in setting up a loud and lively
environment inside and a large team of very attractive welcome girls
outside. The same spirit is now most popularly exploited by Airport and
Iron Club but Casnovy is still pretty good.
The bar employs way too many dancers, hostesses and wait staff for
the amount of customers but it gives the bar an illusion of being
continually busy, even when it's not.
The bar usually has about a dozen dancers on the go spread across the
3 rows of stages. The less inhibited girls generally stay on the centre
stage. The dancing is punctuated by naked shows that are not really so
different from the standard dancing.
I've usually found some good, attractive and friendly company from
amongst the dancers but it is not really a 100% guaranteed deal.
The draft beer is cheap and served in bigger glasses than most bars.
Usually this all adds up to a good time.
Review June 2009: With a Little
Help from my Friends
I had read a couple of forum postings that Casnovy had declined a
little. The bar still seemed to be doing fine to me but saying that the
dancers that I know there were nowhere to be seen.
But all was not lost, I know service girls there too, and I was soon
set up with an attractive replacement. She proved good company and so I
had a good session.
The bar has plenty of girls both dancing and on hostess duty.
Chatting to my service friend it seems that service staff aren't allowed
to sit with customers. I thought this was a bit strange as there well
enough servers to cover for a couple staff taking time out to sit with
the customers.
Beer prices are reasonable and the music wasn't quite so loud as
during previous visits.
So still on my list of gogos well worth a visit.
Review Jan 2009: Upward Path
The mix of very loud music, a massive staff and reasonable drinks
prices put Casnovy on the top tier, especially over the busy season. The
bar seems very lively at the moment.
Maybe they have so many staff and girls that it would still seem
lively with no customers.
The pattern is table dancing on the 2 side rows of tables and dancers
alternating with naked showgirls on the central stage.
Perhaps the music volume is set a bit high for a long visit but it is
an integral part of the bars atmosphere, so it is surely here to stay. I
did meet one girl who left the bar as it made her ears ache though.
I've sometimes thought that the showgirls are a little fussy about
sitting with customers but after getting to know them I get well looked
after now.
And you still get the cheeriest good bye in all of Pattaya's bars.

Review October 2011: What Goes
Around, Comes Around
This was my first visit since the introduction of the centre
stage. And it is immediately clear that it is a big improvement.
There is now a lot more comfortable seating, and it all comes with a
good and closer view of the central stage. A win-win improvement
that also looks good and seems to generate a far better atmosphere
for interaction with the girls. Presumably the dancers are now
better aware of customers that are signalling interest.
Perhaps a little ironically, the bar is now a similar layout to
when it was Honey A-GoGo many years ago. Since then Sisterz had 2
major refits and after that Cavern has now had its second. The bar
fitters have done really well at this location and perhaps are also
smiling at its reversion to the original design.
There was still the long slow march of girls through the 9 or so
dancing points on the central stage. There were some good looking
girls, and most (but not all) were topless.
The side stage dancers were a little disappointing though, as
most were also topless. They were all nude on previous visits.
News from Ishi, July 2011: Stage
Centre
The Cavern re-opened on the 30th July after renovations. The
former main stage is changed to the seats except the palm part which
has become a sub stage.
There were 9 dancers on the new center stage which has 9 poles.
The existing small stages have been retained, so there are no 3 sub
stages and a larger central stage.
Review October 2010: 3rd out of 3
Of the three Happy group bars visited on a roll, Cavern was least
enjoyable compared with Happy and Baccara.
The bar is pretty close in the way that it works to Happy (and
Peppermint). It has a long main stage with a very slow procession of
plenty of dancing girls.
There is a small near-naked stage that had 2 girls entertaining the
customers to good effect. There is also a 2nd small stage but there
wasn't much of naughtiness going down there and it was pretty much
ignored.
The main stage dancing line-up was about average for Walking Street,
which is pretty good, just not as good as Happy and Baccara.
There was a melee of hostesses and girls waiting to dance hanging
around in the corridor seating by the door. But they weren't making much
of an effort to find someone to hostess for.
The bar seems quite popular but somehow it doesn't quite gel for me.
It neither has the required top notch girls for a 'watching' bar nor
does it have the fun of the more 'interactive' bars.
Review by Ishi June 2010: Cool!
I visited The Cavern on the opening day and the next day. The air
conditioner was too strong for me, so I put off the third visit. I
visited on the 3rd of June, the air conditioner was now under control.
The dancers on the 2 small sub stages were naked all the time.
The bar now has a show time on the main stage just like Peppermint (ie
bikini dancers or coyotees taking off their clothes song by song until
naked).
There was a crack on the glass floor which was made by a big Farang.
Review May 2010: Theme Bar
It is fascinating to see such a strongly themed bar arrive on Walking Street.
From my corner of Farangland, everything seems totally wrong about the theme bar
concept, at least for my particular middle aged demographic.
Theme bars are a plain and clear signal that they don't don't want traditional
middle aged drinkers to visit. There's the touristy Camelot Castle type bar that
are just for tourists. There's the trendy bars that are clearly pitched at up
market customers with money to burn. Then there's the theme bars targeting the
binge drinking ladies, knowing that if they can attract the ladies, then the
young lads will soon follow. The only anti-theme that attracts the older
drinkers is the traditional pub. Especially those with reasonably priced beer,
proper pub decor and a juke box that has been kicked into touch. (This last
theme has become a massive success for the Wetherspoon chain).
Anyway back to The Cavern Theme. The bar is immediately obvious as a show bar
where the customer is held at arms length. The stage is enormous and decorated
as if for a cabaret rather than GoGo dancers. The dancers in the giant hand are
particularly well 'protected' from the audience. Surely not the most obvious
psychology for a Walking Street GoGo Bar.
There are a couple of side stages with two girls in each, but again, the
Peppermint cage feel keeps the audience psychologically at bay.
This rather hands off approach sort of fits in with the rest of the chain (apart
from upstairs at Baccara where the low down dancers are actually let of the
usual pedestal and it feels like they 'invited' to get personal with the
customers, which they do).
On my visit there were plenty of girls in the bar, but they weren't the top
notch quality needed for an arms length show bar. The whole concept of the bar
was therefore pointless. No interaction because of the ethos of the bar and not
really worth staying in terms of a show.
But as always, it is never fair to jump to quick judgments during the early days
of a bar. A good bar concept will soon attract the lookers. And of course the
Cavern connections have the best track record in town for employing attractive
girls.
Returning to the theme of traditional bar, Cavern has adopted the reasonable
price drinks of Happy, Peppermint and Baccara. The music was also at about the
right volume, which was a welcome relief after a visit to the Sapphire Club.
There are a few comfortable seats along the back wall, rather badly laid out
with a long table and no entry exit points. Most of the customers are probably
expected to use the stage side stools as per Happy or Peppermint. These are
about the only bars in town where stage side stools are popular, but again this
emphasises the need for top notch talent on stage.
I have a feeling that the Happy Peppermint chain may have opened one bar too
many, all relying on employing the most attractive girls in town. There simply
may not be enough suitable girls to go round. But if there are enough, then this
will surely be another success.
News May 2010: Thunder Mountain
The
Thai-Anxiety team got a private preview tour of the new The Cavern A-GoGo
last night (May 14). The bar is now officially set to open May 19 and the only
real work left to be done is on the electrical wiring.
For a space that offers the second-largest amount of floorspace of
any Walking Street go-go (with Peppermint being the largest), The
Cavern now seems markedly less cavernous than Sisterz before it.
The configuration is surprising.
Entering The Cavern, it's hard not to think of a Disney attraction.
Perhaps Thunder Mountain. The owners have bought big into the theme,
with faux rock boulders lining the walls and forming lower doorway
overhangs and false ceiling in the main bar.
The next thing you notice is that they've moved the stage out of the
center and now runs along most of the right side. Comfy elevated bench
seating with long table, runs down the left side. Close is not
the adjective you'd use for the distance between the two.
The bar does feature a couple of extra showcase stages. On the
left side front corner, adjacent to the bench seating, is a small stage
for 2-3 girls. At the far end of the bar, in the spot where Sisterz had
its showers, is another waterfall stage with running water.
Finally, on the right side in the back is The Hand a showcase
stage that will give the appearance the naked dancing damsel with
wriggling in the palm of a giant rock hand.
As mentioned, the wiring is still being done, so no idea about the
lighting, but it better be a bit on the strong side. The bar, with all
it's dark brown rocks, dark leopard-like upholstered seats, dark
tabletops and dark floor is makes for a, well, dark bar.
The lineup is said to be all new girls and I can confirm no
Peppermint will be used in the casting of the initial lineup. No word
whether it will include any Happy, Beach Club or
Baccara talent. Will simply have to show up opening night in your
best Flintstones get-up to find out.

News from Ishi November 2011: Less
Happy Monday
The 'Monday night is happy all night' promotion has ended.
News from Ishi August 2011: Shower
A couple of weeks ago, Champion installed a shower room. It's at the
far end of the bar. Two naked ladies take a shower together.
Review March 2011: Scaling Down
Apart from the cheap drinks the bar doesn't seem to have an awful lot
to offer at the moment.
The onset of low season has meant something of a slowdown in this
bar. There are still plenty of bars that attract a good trade but
Champion hasn't really been one of them for quite a while. It's not
really a high energy sort of place and the girls are on the wrong side
of average.
The bar is hardly stylish and the facilities leave something to be
desired.
At times gone by the girls generally danced nude but now topless is
the norm. And the low season reduction in the number of girls means that
they are hard pressed to fill the bar's many dancing stations.
This ends up with the girls dancing too much and not really having
enough time to take care of their customers.
So it rather ends up a bar with not enough below average girls with
not really enough time to take of customers. Hardly the recipe for
Walking Street success.
Review August 2010: Improved a Bit
First of all it is was good to feel that the aircon has been fixed
since my last visit although maybe they are still economising somewhat.
And whilst thinking of improvements it was also good see a handful of
very attractive girls on the dancing team. Still plenty of old stagers
though. The bar has decided that knickers are now required whereas on a
previous visit, these were considered as overdressing.
The drinks prices are still more or less the cheapest on Walking
Street.
In fact the bar seems well run and a decent place for a beer.
It never seems to warrant more than a beer though, primarily because
the girls seem to be always dancing with little time left to sit with
customers. This seems to have been an almost permanent failing ever
since the bar introduced the table dancing tables. Just too many dance
positions to fill for the amount of girls sustainable by the customer
base.
Review March 2010: Old Times
and Old Timers
First, the good news. There was a very pretty girl showing her
all in a Jacuzzi, recently installed in the centre of the main stage.
Secondly, the bad news. The rest! To be fair though, this is the same
as always and regular customers will have gotten used to it by now.
The girls are generally below average but that doesn't mean that it's
bad, the Walking Street average is pretty high. Most of the girls dance
naked in Champion, but somehow this is not the highlight of the bar.
But being a regular, then I can be quite forgiving, particularly as the
beer is cheap and the girls are friendly.
The toilet has needed an upgrade for as long as I can remember and now
the aircon seems to be added to the knackered list.
But I still enjoyed the visit though, the downsides don't really matter
much if one has enjoyable company.
Review July 2009: Lots of
Dancers
The summer low season seemed to have taken its toll a bit and the
very cheap beer was no longer packing in the customers.
There were some attractive girls dancing but there weren't really
enough girls in the bar to cover the large number they now have dancing
at any one time. At the end of their spell they only have a couple of
songs before have to mount the stage for another dance stint. The poor
ratio of hostessing girls to dancing girls is always a cue for me to
leave pronto. But if you like to watch, and don't want to be pestered by
the girls then perhaps it is OK.
The toilets could do with a refurb.
I always have a soft spot for the bar, as I fondly recall the old
days when it was the best hands-on bar in town. Now I just stay long
enough to reminisce old times before it is time to move on to the latest
best hands-on bars in Pattaya
Review January 2009: Busy
The cheap beer policy and a recent refurb seem to be working well for
the bar and it has been busy for the last few months.
Table dancing stages have been added in amongst the bench seating
along the sides of the bar. The central stage has been slimmed down and
is also a bit more stylish now.
There is a lot of emphasis on dancing nude. and just for tradition
the bar have also retained the TVs showing blue movies. The music is
still oldie farang friendly.
The bar has always been notable for ladies who been around awhile,
and true to form, many familiar faces were still in attendance. However
the popularity of the bar has allowed them to supplement their dancers
with a fair amount of pretty girls.
I rather suspect that the girls get a good deal from the bar as they
do tend to stay a long time.
The bar is well run with good service and no undue hassle. So it is
good to see that they have established a good customer base. So much so
that they have recently been able to increase their main draft beer
price up to 50 Baht. Still amongst the best in town.
I still hanker after the long lost old days though, the bar used to
be one of the seediest and naughtiest in town.

Review January 2011: Disappointing
On the face of it, the bar has many good things going for it.
It is a large, modern, nicely styled bar with comfortable seating
around the edge of the bar, just in front of that are large table
dancing stages and there is the main stage in the centre.
There are usually plenty of attractive girls on show with about
half dancing at any one time.
In addition the bar has a well liked host and good support on
Pattaya forums. Presumably these two points are linked.
But for all of this the bar is generally very quiet. I for one
find it a very lonely bar and I suspect that the overall lack of
customers is probably down to other people having the same
experience. I don't think there is any particular discouragement
from girls hooking up with the guys because there are usually a
couple of customers being well looked after.
I put it down to perhaps just the layout of the bar not being
very conducive to the usual smiles, body language and proximity that
usually do the biz in other bars.
Possibly the bar is just a little too large and the guys in the
comfy seating are just out of range of the girls dancing on the
central stage. There are table dancers a bit closer, but it is
usually more comfortable and less awkward to watch the centre stage
girls at normal eye level than try and watch someone towering nearly
directly above.
Even when the girls are walking around the bar they are still a
fair way away from customers and it is not easy to catch their
glance.
Anyway, just a guess, trying to wonder why the bar is not as good
as it really should be.
Review July 2010: More Girls
The bar has enjoyed a recent surge in the numbers of girls dancing
in the bar. And to add to the attraction, there are quite a few that
are very pleasing on the eye.
This means that the bar is quite busy in terms of dancing. there
is a circuit of girls for the tables around the outside of the bar.
There is a circuit of dancers on the central stage and a couple more
doing a play mat show with the usual thwack foam sticks, again on
the central stage.
Plenty of girls left over for hostessing duty too. But to be
honest, this does not seem one of their favourite occupations. They
seem to prefer to chat amongst themselves.
Perhaps the best bet for a bit of interaction is to sit stage
side and play with the girls with the thwack sticks.
Review February 2010: Elusive
The bar is still one of Pattaya's more impressive GoGo designs. The
mix of neon, chrome, spiral staircase, balcony, table dancing stages
and centre stage looks the Biz.
On my last visit there were plenty of girls and there were several
that were well attractive.
There's a reasonably priced draft beer and the rest of the prices
are typical of many competing bars.
There's an affable host who seems to be a centre of attention.
And yet with all these good thing in place, the bar is pretty near
a 100% guaranteed failure for me to attract the attention of a
drinking partner. And looking around the bar I am not the only abject
failure in town. The bar rarely seems busy in terms of customer count
and a fair few fellow customers are usually sharing my Mr Lonely
posture.
Probably just me, but maybe the girls need a nudge to become a
little bit more pro-active about taking care of customers.
Review June 2009: Ratios
I still drop by for the occasional look see but never stay long
because the dancing ratio doesn't really give the customers a fair
chance for much time with the girls. Whenever I have dropped by there
are many more girls dancing than hostessing such that the girls were
only hanging around for 3 dances before starting on another 6 dance
stint.
Just a personal taste thing, and I did see a large party who were
clearly enjoying themselves. The trick being to be able to have a good
banter with your mates whilst the girls are away for the majority of
their time. Then you can spoil the girls rotten for the short time
that they are at your side.
There's an affable host on hand for a chat should you not bring
your mates with you.
Most things are spot on about the bar. It looks good, there are
some good looking girls and they take off plenty of clothes when
dancing. Drinks are reasonable with a plenty of happy hour options
too.
Review December 2008: Close
Competition
A good looking bar that has not quite made it on to my list of
favourite bars.
There are a fair amount of girls employed and there are some who
are pretty indeed. Plenty on show in terms of dress code too.
The happy hour offer is a very good deal at 2 for 1, and draft beer
later is a reasonable 65 Baht.
The upstairs loos have been mentioned in the past in terms of
caution of the spiral stairs when drunk. The stairs are wide enough
that this isn't really an issue.
The only real reason why I haven't become a regular is that on most
visits, I have been simply been ignored by the girls. Not a big issue,
but Misty's is located tantalisingly close to Baby Dolls where good
hostessing is assured. So impatience usually gets the better of
me, perhaps a little bit before it should.
Review June 2008: Spoilt
A generally pleasant subsequent visit was spoilt by an offer of a
lady drink (110 Baht) which ended up as a lady cocktail (150 Baht)
without anyone asking or pointing out the uninvited upgrade.
It is a waste of time informing the mamasang as she simply blamed
the girl and did nothing to put the matter right. The advice is to
take it up with the farang management.
The bar has measures in place to try and prevent this happening,
but the very existence of the dual price temptation means that this
problem will inevitably recur.

Review September 2010: Pants!
The bar was pretty quiet at about a 10pm visit.
There were 7 or 8 girls on stage all in bikinis and wearing two pairs
of panties. The girls were about average which means that a fair few
would be up for barfines if ever customers turn up. The girls were
putting a decent effort into dancing, perhaps spurred on by the loud
music that shakes the bar fittings There was another team of dancers
waiting for their turn to dance but they showed very little signs
of interacting with the handful of customers in attendance. The bar is
a bit old hat with traditional bikini clad dancing and the girls
seemingly waiting for their number to be called. Perhaps nobody on their
management has noticed that things have moved on and that most
successful bars now have to be sexy, fun and interactive (or else have
jaw droppingly pretty girls to hold the audience entranced without the
need for the fun and interaction).
Review from Pattaya Secrets, March 2010:
A Little Bit Happy
Diamond has never done much for me so maybe the review would be best
left to someone who appreciates the bar. But for some reason Diamond
rarely crops up in conversation except to say how expensive it is to
barfine Bangkok showgirls. I always think of Diamond as small version
of Happy A-GoGo. It generally has a good selection of girls, the drinks
are reasonably priced, and most of the customers are here to watch
pretty girls rather than do much in the way of interaction. That's not
to say the girls are unfriendly, they seem approachable enough. But they
do not pro-actively seek out customers. Only my last visit there was a
team of about 8 dancers who were a bit coy with their dress sense. After
a while they gave way to another team, presumably the showgirls, who
weren't so coy. But it was hardly a riveting performance. The music is
on the loud side but maybe not quite so extreme as days of old.
Review from Pattaya Secrets, March 2009:
No Barfine Bangkok Girls
I could not believe the level of talent on stage.
It turns out they have more Bangkok girls down for 10 days. I was told
they get paid 1200 baht per night and is only here for 10 nights. She
gets 50 baht per lady drink but has to achieve at least 10 per night or
her money is cut by 50 baht for each.
Barfine for the Bangkok visiting girls is set at a suitably discouraging
3500 with the likelihood of a fee for the girl to match. It also seems
that the girls aren't from the farang P4P scene. Some wont go with
customers, some will, some are basically party girls, some may well be
used to being in high class Thai places where they charge 3000k ST.
Review March 2009: Revival
Suddenly Diamond was back to where it was a few years ago.
The bar was three quarters full, there were show girls on stage that
were capturing the attention of the audience and the music was too loud.
Good to see that the import of a team of dancers from Bangkok seems to
have sparked a revival. I'm not sure if it is like this everyday but I
think I may have stumbled in during a dance contest. Things look
hopeful for the bar as there were plenty of attractive girls around and
the beer was still the same cheap price as before. It made a good
change to leave after one drink on the grounds that the bar was too
full. I usually leave after one drink because the bar was too empty.
Review Nov 2008: Little Sparkle
Diamond is not really getting the customers in at the moment. I
stopped by at 10pm and I was one of two.
Perhaps one of the reasons is a lack of enthusiasm by the welcome
staff. They seem to ignore passers by but will of course respond if you
step towards the door. The door itself is not really inviting, its like
stepping into a vault.
Inside there were 3 bikini clad girls dancing on the central stage
and there were another 4 or 5 sitting around waiting for their turn. An
average bunch but that still means there are some attractive girls.
There wasn't much doing in the bar but a couple of the waiting girls
popped over to see if I was interested. But as I never really appreciate
being double teamed I fended them off.
I thought about these double teaming tactics for a while and came to
a conclusion. There probably not many regulars of the bar, so the
chances are that any customers are newbies and therefore can be easily
persuaded to buy multiple lady drinks.
Probably just being cynical though, there were no other signs of
hassle. But then again, I didn't hang round very long.
Review Jan 2008: Reasonable
Diamond is a very straightforward gogo which is pretty conservative
in terms of entertainment.
It seems to have a good customer base probably from reputations from
maybe slightly better times of old. It seems to cater for guys on
holiday rather than expats.
It seems to give a good package of reasonably priced drinks, a
reasonable show and a reasonable bunch of girls who tend to keep
themselves to themselves.
I guess it does the business in terms of entertainment and so keeps
customers returning for occasional visits. It misses out on regulars as
they simply get to know the bars where the entertainment is a little
more sexy.
Or perhaps just where the music is not played quite so loud!

Review October 2010:
Never
Quite Hits the Mark
The plus side of the bar is that there are usually some good looking
girls amongst the dancers.
Plenty of girls, maybe half in the bar dance on the slowly revolving
central stage in a dress code ranging from bikinis to nothing. They
dance for an awfully long time if you are waiting for a particular girl
to finish her stint.
The girls don't seem very interactive after they finish dancing.
Usually huddled amongst themselves. The only times I have noticed much
animation is when a newbie is detected. Plenty of attention then.
The service girls seem the best bet for a bit of company. Several on
my last visit were filling in for the lack of dancers plying the floor.
On a previous visit there were a couple of Jacuzzi girls that I
thought would prove to be a good ice breaker for the bar. But on my last
visit there was no activity there, perhaps just bad timing.
The drinks are generally expensive but at least there is a small
draft beer available for 60 Baht. The 135 Baht for a lady drink shifts
the bar into very poor value territory, or it would if any ladies were
to ever show any interest in getting one.
Review June 2010: A High Season Bar
I find that first impressions about the bar always seem a lot better
than what you actually get.
The bar has a fair few ladies packed onto the revolving stage. They
always seem to be dancing with more energy than in most bars in Pattaya
and there are usually a few good lookers too.
There are also a couple of girls dancing on small tables and a couple
of Jacuzzi girls at the back of the bar.
It all seems quite lively, but as one settles into a beer, one
realises that it's not the most interactive bar in town. The girls
waiting to dance seem happiest chatting amongst themselves rather than
chatting to customers.
Also a bit of downer are the generally high drinks prices, although
the bar now relents for a cheap low season draft beer. Lady drinks are
poor value at 135 Baht and barfines are very high.
The bar usually seems to be a bit quiet in terms of customers, but
the liveliness gives the impression that maybe the crowds will turn up
soon. Probably better as a high season bar when people are a little less
cost conscious.
Review October 2009: Little
Interaction
The bar has improved for installing a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht but
otherwise it seems to operate pretty much as normal.
The were quite a few girls rotating around the central carousel
stage. There were some good looking girls and there was a complete range
of dress from none to bikini. There were also a couple of girls
ineffectively dancing on small stages in amongst the audience.
There was very little interaction between the girls and the
customers. I have a theory that may be total bollox, but I reckon that
response to the ping pong balls is used to differentiate between ex-pats
and visitors. Only ping pong friendly customers are likely to get
company.
Still there are plenty of bars that are prefer to be show/watching
bars rather than being interactive, and this is a decent enough example
to watch a bit of gogo dancing.
Review from Pattaya Talk,
April 2009: Improved
The bar introduced a cheap draft and at least one forum poster
reported a good improvement in the bar:
The most improved gogo of my recent trip, after a couple of years in
the doldrums, they seem back to their best with a high number of
lookers, many of whom are interactive in the bar (with excessive
pressure for ladydrinks).
Review December 2008: Visitors Bar
The bar was very quiet at what should have been a prime time. I
presume this rather reflects the lack of holiday makers in town. It has
always struck me that this bar is not really a hit with Pattaya
residents and appeals more to visitors.
The bar had about 15 dancers in attendance and a few showgirls hiding
away in their changing room. 5 or 6 girls were dancing either in bikinis
or topless on the revolving central stage.. The girls were generally
average which of course means there are a few that appeal.
The girls seemed a little lack lustre in terms of hostess duties, and
a couple of newbies behind me were getting a bit of a hard sell about
ping pong balls.
There were a couple of shows that were not particularly sexy. One was
traditional Thai dancing, and in the other, the girls only got down to
their knickers.
I'd rather guess that not many expats use the bar as the drinks
prices are on the high end whilst the entertainment is on the low end.
Nothing inherently bad about the bar, just poor value.
Review March 2008: Ping Pong
Heaven
At a prime time visit, the bar was very lively. Plenty of whooping
and holloring as the guys were lining up to throw ping pong balls and
cash at the girls.
It was clear that most of the high spirits were down to holiday fun
and the novelty value of a gogo.
From an expat point of view I don't really see why it should be so
popular. The girls were distinctly average (that's not to say that there
aren't pretty girls, the Walking Street average is pretty good). The
drinks prices are on the high side too.
My only theory as to why the bar attracts holiday makers is simply
down to the rather good name, particularly as Thee Dollhouse is a well
known chain of lap dancing bars in USA.
The girls were not being friendly to me though. They probably spotted
the micro gesture of disdain towards the frequent attempts to sell me
ping pong balls.
Still you can't knock a bar where everyone is laughing and having
fun...you just have to quietly go somewhere else.

Review September 2011: Old Friends
My first visit since the change of management revealed a fair
improvement since the days of Toyz.
The bar has added a little bit more variety to proceeding with
the addition of a small Jacuzzi and a necessarily small cage for a
dancer.
The bar has also ended the boringly long dance roster that Toyz
used to employ. Now the dancing is split into two teams which swap
over every few songs. At least the girls can then spend half their
time entertaining the customers by sitting at their side (or maybe
on their lap), rather than remotely from the stage.
The bar has also added a few more girls to the line up. This has
help far more than just the quantity of girls. Several of the new
girls that have been employed, have learned their trade in far more
lively bars than ever Toyz was.
And of course it was these fun girls that made my visit well
enjoyable.
The bar hasn't made a massive impact in terms of customer numbers
yet, but it is an awful lot better than it was before.

News from Durian Doug, July 2011:

Review March 2011: Traditional No
Hassle GoGo
Toyz is an old school, small traditional GoGo. It has comfortable
bench seating overlooking a long and narrow central stage.
It has not so many girls on show, but they are an attractive team. On
my latest visit there were a couple of naked girls on stage. The bar has
been topless for as long as I can remember so perhaps they are making an
effort.
The bar is traditional in that there is nothing going apart from the
gogo dancing. The girls don't seem very proactive in hunting out lady
drinks. Maybe just a characteristic of a small bar with few girls and
fewer customers. There seems to be something of an inertia problem,
maybe like shyness in making the first move. Once a bar gets over a
critical mass of people enjoying themselves then it seems to suck
everyone else into the fun.
For the moment the bar is probably best for those seeking out an
attractive girl for a rapid takeaway. Customers after a few drinks worth
of entertainment will probably be better off heading on over to Relaxxx,
for a bit of interaction, or upstairs to X-Zone for a naughty show.

News from Ishi, August 2011: A Change of

around the stage.
From December, the pattern changed a little. The teams still dance
for 20 minutes, but half way through their set, the girls at the
front and back switch their position to the opposite end of the
stage.
I enjoyed this change because I was able to get a look at more of
the dancers.

News from Ishi, March 2011: Show
Fahrenheit has started a simple show with five dancers starting
in bikinis and string-skirt. Just one show at 10pm for the moment
Review November 2010: Manic
I visited on a very busy Friday night and the bar seemed pretty
packed with customers.
The bar is smaller on the inside than perhaps you would expect
from the outside. There is comfortable bench seating around the
sides of the bar and stools at stage side. And for future expansion
there is an upstairs area not in use on my visit.
There is a narrowish central stage running the length of the bar
and it had plenty of decent looking dancers amongst the 15 on stage.
12 out of the 15 were bikini clad but 3 girls at the front were
baring all, perhaps they were show girls.
At a change of shift all of the dancers departed the stage and
were replaced by another team. So plenty of girls on hand.
Several girls were entertaining customers so it looks quite a
friendly place too.
I found it a rather manic atmosphere lots of girls milling round
being shooed out of seats as customers were piling in.
Actually at a toilet break I realised that the bar was not as
crowded as it first appeared as the bank end of the bar was
deserted. There were a couple of reasons for this, all of the naked
girls were strictly pinned to the front end of the stage, no doubt
to give a good impressions as customers stepped through the door.
Views from the back end of the bar were strictly bikini clad.
Also the stage side seating seems to block the passage ways a bit
(like Iron) so it is a little bothersome to push past everyone to
the seats at the back.
The drinks prices are in the reasonable range for a lively bar
and there is the traditional cheap draft.
Anyway the bar has worked up quite a lively atmosphere in a
relatively short space of time so all bodes well.

Review December 2011: Constant
I visited at midnight, on a weekday, a couple of weeks before
Christmas.
And it was pretty much the same successful looking GoGo that it
has always been.
The stage was pretty well packed with dancers, most of them being
topless. Surely an above average crew, but not quite the top notch.
That accolade is reserved for Baccara these days.
There were a couple of coyote dancers on the centre stage and
disappointingly the small corner stage, once knickerless, is now
well overdressed. At some point in the last couple of years it has
been hijacked by coyotes.
The crowd was a mixture of guys gawping at the girls, a few
sitting with girls, and there were even a few farang couples
converting a corner of the bar into an impromptu disco.
Perhaps not quite the packed audiences of old, but that's fine by
me. In fact the bar was probably about 2/3rds full.
As always, the male service is spot on in terms of efficiency,
but way off mark in terms of an opportunity for a chat.
All seems well at Happy.
Review October 2010: Not Quite Number
One
It wasn't so long ago that Happy and Peppermint had a nice niche
sown up of being the top falang bars operating a pick a number and
go. Customers would watch the top notch girls dancing for a few
drinks hile pondering their options for a takeway.
More recently the group have added Baccara and The Cavern to
their list of similarly run bars.
It is therefore interesting to note how the extra two venues has
impacted Happy.
There simply aren't enough top notch girls in Pattaya to maintain
a totally jaw dropping line up in each of the 4 bars.
In fact Baccara is now easily the number one of the group. It is
the only one of the 4 that has a near complete set of very
attractive girls.
Happy and Peppermint are now a very good 2nd tier. But the line
up is no longer exclusively top notch, there are a significant
proportion of average girls. (the Walking Street average is pretty
good though).
I wonder if this will change the dynamics of the bar. Generally
average girls are not going to be picked off stage by the ruminating
customers. Usually they have to take a more interactive approach to
obtaining barfines, by adding their sweet personalities to their
list of attractions.
Also having more average girls may rather challenge the premium
prices commanded by dictat at Happy.
Review April 2010: Happy as a Coyote
As you'd expect with an ever popular bar, they mostly stick with
their formula and changes are rare.
So indeed there was the usual stage full of pretty girls doing a
reasonable stab at energetic dancing. And as usual, they were not
really making much effort to play the audience. There's no need for
the girls to be pro-active at Happy, the guys soon do the requesting.
But there was one recent change though, coyote dancers had joined
the bikini clad and topless gogo girls. The coyotes were wearing big
bras and the usual short denim shorts with the fly half undone.
It will be interesting to see if the idea works at Happy. For me,
coyote dancing is nothing but negative, and most bars offering coyote
dancing as the main spectator sports seem to founder. There
seems to be a fundamental correlation between girls who would rather
not take off their clothes to girls who are choosy, offish or pricey
when it comes to customer care. Best avoided in my book.
Otherwise things still seemed good in Happy. Customers were still
calling down pretty ladies and the watchers seemed happy enough to
bide their time whilst sipping alone. Perhaps the bar was a little
less crowded than on previous visits but probably just the low season
norm.
News January 2010: Sign of the
Times
Happy is now sporting a flashy new sign
Review April 2009: Personal
Space
I'd make a lousy bar owner. If I fashioned a bar according to my
own likes and dislikes, I'd end up losing out on some of the most
popular bars in Pattaya, and Happy is one of them.
I often pop by Happy early evening for one drink whilst planning an
itinerary for the rest of the evening. It is perfect for a quick
drink, as it has very good looking dancers, reasonable drinks prices
and no hassle from the girls (not that hassle is a bad thing mind you,
I do particularly like being hassled by a girl jumping on to my lap).
There are plenty of girls on stage and they have a very long dance
roster, but that's ok, not many of them have drinking partners waiting
for their return.
The girls on the main stage dance topless and it must be said that
the basic gogo dancing is some of the more energetic in town.
All well and good, and maybe too good. Later on the crowds come to
enjoy the entertainment. At this time the bar is everything that I
don't want from a bar. More than likely you will get ushered to one of
the last remaining seats in the bar, usually a stage side stool jammed
between 2 other occupied stools.
Now then its a question of priorities, do you want to watch some of
the prettiest girls in town? or do you want to have a comfortable seat
and the space for a girl at your side? (even if getting a girl is as
yet, just a hope). Call me strange but I prefer the comfortable seat
and a bit of room to breathe. But at least I can see the point of view
of those jammed into the small stage-side stools enjoying the pretty
dancers.
Review Sept 2008: Still Happy
Nothing much had changed since my last visit. In fact nothing had
changed since my last visit. The bar is simply supremely consistent.
Still pretty girls on the popular main stage and naked girls around
on the side stage which isn't so popular.
Most guys seem to come to look rather than interact with the girls
much.
The shows are simple with just a little added enthusiasm to the
dancing and a few less clothes.
The beer is reasonably priced but it is not given away as the
glasses are small.
On the whole I find the lack of interaction makes the bar pretty
sterile but that is personal taste rather than a criticism of the bar.
Many would say how pleasant it is to be able to sit ad watch without
being hassled.

Heaven Above A-GoGo
Lively bar packed with pretty girls who are often criticised for

luxurious convenient rooms at the Galaxy Suites above the bar.
There is a pre-pay card to keep drinks at 90 Baht each if you buy
10. Also card to keep track barfines then buy 6, get 1 free. Over peak
season girls are not allowed to be barfined in their first 2 hours at
work. The welcome staff have free drinks vouchers to give away.
Review June 2010: Specialist
Heaven Above is perhaps a little different to most Pattaya GoGos and
has developed its own style.
It features a central stage full of attractive girls. They operate in
two teams. There's the GoGo dancers who do a very long and slow advance
round the stage. They wear their own choice of dance attire ranging from
quite a lot to not much at all.
There's also a second team of negligee clad girls who occupy one end
of the stage, the low brick wall around the stage, and a couple of small
side stages.
The main stage is low and the bar is not large, so most seats get a
good show.
The subtle difference though, is more to do with the interaction
between the girls and customers. Customers who sit quietly will probably
get left well alone. Even customers signaling over a girl may well get
short shrift too. The trick seems to get into more of a party frame of
mind. The chances are that the girls will pick up on the vibe and take
it from there.
Not a bar for everyone but it has enough fans to keep it lively late
at night. Can be very slow earlier in the evening.
Review from Materialsman, Oct 2009:
Marxist Mindset
One of my favourites is Heavens Above. Once more it didn't disappoint
me, some honey's here as always, they seemed to be having some sort of
Daisy Duke thing going amongst the staff, you know the look, tiny
denim shorts, check shirts tied at the waist, straw hats etc. and very
nice it looked too!
I know some of the show girls here have a reputation
of bad attitude, but frankly I have never had a problem with any
girl from here, maybe through my very persona, I dress reasonably well,
I'm not a complete 'fugly', and I treat the girls in my company well.
Hey, maybe I have become a member of the Heavens Above clique
that some guys whisper darkly of, that's an amusing thought, I've always
held on to the Groucho Marx mindset towards belonging to clubs and
cliques.
Review October 2009: Pretty in
Heaven
I tend to visit the bar for a hassle free beer that makes for a
pleasant backdrop whilst planning the evening.
The bar is attractive with a white theme. There is a fair sized
central stage and also a play mat area towards the back of the bar.
There are always a goodly amount of girls on the stage and they are
an above average crew. The dancing girls choose their own attire and how
much or how little they are happy with.
There are also a few girls, maybe classed as showgirls, who wear
negligees. They seem to hold dominion over the raised step around the
edge of the stage.
The girls have a very long dance roster rather suggesting that the
bar is for watching the girls rather than interacting with them. Well
that's my excuse anyway, the girls never seem very interested in me.
Review by Pattaya Today: Night March,
April 2009: Tight Butts
For me, and others I know, Heaven Above has the number one position
as far as sheer number of small-bodied, tight-butt dancing damsels is
concerned.
The den has also introduced a theme-style night as far as clothing
goes, with girls in schoolgirl-style uniforms one evening and then
cowgirl tops, shorts and hats the next, and so on.
Review from Pattaya Talk,
April 2009: Interaction
Has always provided a great breed of fare for the eye but an
improvement has been made in recent times; that improvement is in terms
of interaction, the ladies seem much more willing to gyrate in your
direction
Review from Materialsman, Dec 2008:
Stunning Girls
Always one of my favourite Pattaya spots, and one that recently had
come in for a little criticism on another Pattaya Forum.
Again the Bar was busy. I think my Heineken was again 120 baht, could
have been 110, not really sure.
I did however have a brief chat with the Manager, an affable enough
young Aussie chap, who was desperately trying to sell me on the idea of
purchasing a special discount drink card for the minimal sum of 850
Baht, which was guaranteed to eventually save me money on my drinks.
Sorry, I’m sure it is a good deal but not one I am going to go for while
out having a good time and in a fairly incapacitated state, seemed a bit
like a Time Share sort of deal.
As for the eye candy on view, well again recently there has been
criticism of the line up, but I have to say I thought there were some
stunners on show, whether or not they have pussies made of gold that pee
pure Pinot Noir, and a stuck up attitude to match, I can’t really say,
they certainly seemed friendly enough to my advances, and when I walked
out of the club at around midnight there were fifteen very attractive
hard bodied girls lined up totally buck naked on stage, and more
circling the stage, what’s wrong with that scenario, I mean what more
could you desire? The service staff were attentive, and some comely
wenches amongst them too.
All in all, still one of the top go-go’s in Pattaya with some
stunning girls, in my humble opinion.

Review April 2009: Asians Agog
The gogo still tries to be both farang friendly and Asian coach party
friendly. But on my last visit the bar was pretty near full of Asians
looking agog at the razor blades being drawn from a girl's pussy.
One is tempted to be a bit dismissive of such non-erotic shows but
the bar surely had more customers than some of the farang oriented gogos
in town.
Whilst the bells and whistles shows continue on one stage there is a
girl soaping herself in the Jacuzzi. Its not geared up to allow for much
customer interaction though.
The beer prices are kept at reasonable levels for the pay as you go
farangs with draft at 55 Baht.
It is very much like its sister bar, Playgirls, just down the street
but this one is probably the better due to having a few more attractive
girls.
Review Oct 2008: Pretty Hot
The bar is pitched at Asian tourists in that there are no drinks
prices advertised by the welcome staff who are also there to charge
unsuspecting visitors an entrance charge. As always the bar is free to
farangs.
But the strange thing is that it is a perfectly good bar for farang
customers too. There is a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht albeit in a small
glass. The lady drinks are also in line with other bars at 110 Baht.
There are some pretty dancing girls and they are happy to pop over
for a chat. No undue hassle and I had a perfectly pleasant stay.
There is a bells and whistles show but it is at least simultaneous
with a pretty girl soaping herself in a Jacuzzi. The shows alternate
with dancing and the girls just dance 2 songs. No sooner did my drinking
partners say I go dance, and she was back by my side.
Probably mostly down to my pretty hostess, but I well enjoyed my
visit.
Review Jan 2008: Not
Recommended
Entrance 600 baht + 1 drink free. Girls were taller and more
beautiful, only topless. but the girls were more demanding and ripped
off about 1000 baht from us. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
seating arrangements too were poor.
Review Dec 2007: Schizophrenic
The new layout of the bar is the fashionable white theme complete
with Jacuzzi. The bar have recruited a few pretty girls to take good
advantage of the shower show.
However the bar is still persisting with the bells and whistle show.
But the focus of this is a stage towards the back of the bar.
On my visit though, the bar had not yet succeeded in attracting
people to watch the shower show. There was just me enjoying the pretty
girls of the front stages. A coach party of people were crowded around
the old stagers doing their bells and whistles thing on the back stage.
It was fine by me!
Update from Ray, Nov 2007:
Renovated Hot Girls
The bar's had a makeover rather similar to Noi's and is much
improved.
The front stage has replaced by seating which has all been upgraded
to comfortable white benches and there are now two smaller stages in the
middle of the bar, one for dancers, one for the shower show.
The rear stage still has the occasional bells and whistles show.
Worth a look.
Review May 2007:
Off the Radar
The bar seems to warrant hardy a mention in the
Pattaya forums so it was time to go and take a look for myself.
The bar is long and very narrow with a couple of side
stages on opposite sides. Some seating affords very poor viewing of the
stage.
There were about 20 girls of which at least one was
katoey. They weren't a bad looking crew. Three were dancing on the first
stage and more dance on the second stage if there are enough customers
to move down into the seats overlooking that stage.
Perhaps the most striking reason for the lack of
farang comments is that most of the customers are Asian. It seems that
bells and whistles shows identify that a bar is targeting Asian
customers.
There is a menu card on the tables that advertises
fixed rates for bar fines, rooms and short time rates for the girls.
Didn't spot anything bad about the bar...it is just
that there are so many better bars nearby.

News December 2010: Bangkok Models
Iron Club have added Bangkok models to their line up for the last few
months. However from December (running until next February), things have
changed a little.
An Iron-Mama confirmed that the previous stable of models has been
replaced with higher-end models. For typical Western-born Pattaya
visitors, the upgrade is really a downgrade.
While the previous models danced topless, the new dancer wear pasties
on their breasts. And, unlike the previous models, these ones positively
do not go with customers, at any price. You can, of course, buy one a
Super Model drink, but it will cost you 250 baht for a small Coke.
Following the Walking Street trend, these new high-end models
are aimed at the Russian couples, Koreans in pajamas and those content
to just look and not touch.
Review July 2010: Pumping
I've been meaning to take another look for a while now but, for
obviously good reasons, the bar has always simply been too full for my
tastes.
But for my latest visit I tried earlier about 10ish and it was about
a third full. I sat in the middle of the bar so as to report on all the
stages.
The front stage was filled with about a dozen girls in a very square
military formation. They were all bikini clad except when the got to the
last position, they would generally take off their tops. There were some
good looking dancers but not exclusively so.
The middle Jacuzzi had a couple of girls doing the Jacuzzi thing
enjoyed by a couple of ringsiders. This was not the most popular
spectacle. The star stage seemed to be the back stage where the lookers
were. There were usually 4 girls half dancing and half doing the usual
play stage antics. They were rotating through clothing from bikinis to
none.
I was well looked after by a front stage dancer who proved very
diverting company. All totally hassle free and without stupidities like
lady cocktails. We did have to shoo away an old mamasang who bizarrely
thought she may be able to contribute something to our private
proceedings.
Actually for the price of the 120 Baht lady drink or two, the girl
was excused dancing duties for quite a while, at least until the bar
filled and their weren't enough spare ladies to take up the slack.
All in all the visit was a complete success with the only minor gripe
being the music volume making verbal conversation a bit of a strain.
Still my drinking partner had gotten used to this, and developed an easy
to understand tactile body language that got most necessary messages
across.
Warning from Pattaya Forums:
Expensive Lady Drinks
Rapid success seems to have been too much of a temptation and there
have been a fair amount of complaints about the bar appearing on Pattaya
forums.
Particularly prevalent are very expensive lady drinks turning up
without the customer asking for them or being told about how expensive
the drink being asked for (up to 240 Baht!).
Review by Materialsman October 2009:
No Iron Hoofs
Next to the popular Airport and has a
similar layout and some smartly dressed Hello girls outside, although
they don't really maintain the concept throughout the staff like
Airport. As discussed on various forums, the Club is unfortunately named
for some London based Brits, Irons being a word associated with
gays, in Cocker'nee rhyming slang, iron hoofs = poofs,
fortunately there are only women dancing here.
I have read that the layout is not conducive to sitting in comfort,
and I have to agree, having been trodden on a couple of times while
people passed by, but it makes good use of the limited space and sort of
opens out the further back you go near to the now standard Jacuzzi areas
where girls were soaping each other and whipping buttocks with gay
abandon. It's pretty smart inside the Club, though the quality of
dancing girls left a little to be desired, but it is early days and
there is time for it to get better, a sprinkling of beauties though, not
all farm fresh awkward shufflers, and the Tequila girl was to die for.
I had a girl target me pretty quickly, I put that down to my
beautiful new Hawaiian shirt rather than my visage, so I humoured her
for a while until she went to dance/shuffle and finished my beer and
made my escape, as her conversation was sadly lacking, must have been
new to the scene. Can't remember the drink price, I think around 125
Baht for the bottle, reasonable enough for Walking Street, but currently
I could only award a 7/10 due to the standard of girls, but I will give
it another try next time, I liked the décor.
Review October 2009: Iron Awe
An impressive looking venue with a surprisingly large, high ceiling
interior. There is bench seating down both sides of the bar.
The iron theme is perhaps a little cold, but it looks pretty good.
The bar is basically long and narrow with 3 stages. Nearest the
door is a gogo stage for 9 dancers. The dancers were wearing a uniform
with a futuristic theme and a short blouse garment covering the
shoulders. The uniform allows options for either a bra or topless.
The girls were a pretty good selection considering the early days of
the bar. But they were dancing an extremely long dance stint of 9 songs.
Obviously the bar is hoping for a Happy style audience with watchers
rather than those wanting the company of a girl. The trouble is of
course, that not many bars can command the quality of Happy, and this
bar is not yet one of those select few.
The dancing girls weren't being the slightest bit friendly in terms
of seeking out lady drinks and the like.
The middle of the bar has the now inevitable Jacuzzi with 2 girls at
a time soaping themselves down. There are stools surrounding the action.
The back stage is quite elaborate with a raised platform and maybe a
small rotating platform. The stage was occupied by 2 girls performing a
more energetic dance than the standard gogo fare.
The service staff were also wearing smart uniforms, perhaps Air Port
Club have set a new trend in motion.
It is early days and the bar wasn't working too well on my visit.
Customers were only staying for a single drink. I rather think the
dancers uniform will soon be dispensed with as, whatever people claim,
less clothes is best. No reason why uniforms for service staff shouldn't
continue though.
And if the bar does take off though there is an issue with the
layout. There is not really enough space to have stools down the side of
the main stage as well as it being a major thoroughfare to he back
stages of the bar. There's likely to be all sorts of bumping and
barging, surely not a good idea for somewhere where people are likely to
be a little drunk after a few beers.

Review January 2012: Sardines A-GoGo
The connections of this bar must be well happy. It was pretty near
full and yet there were hardly any girls. There must have been about 4
guys for every girl.
The bar is quite small with a narrow central stage nestling between
two sides of bench seating. There are also a few stage stools down one
side.
There were 5 girls dancing and just 3 hostessing whilst waiting to
dance. There were a couple of very attractive girls amongst them and the
whole crew would qualify for a fair few barfines each month. Most girls
were topless and the rest were wearing bikinis. Thankfully no coyotes.
But it was amazing that there was a steady stream of customers coming
in to jammed into the few available bench seats by the bar ushers. To be
fair though there was an equally rapid stream of customers departing
after one drink.
I assume the bar has somehow tapped into the market of the multitude
of passers by who are not really into gogos, but would like a quick look
see.
The drinks prices are similar to sister bars Tiger/Shark/Fahrenheit
but the draft beer is 10 Baht more expensive at 80 Baht (70 Baht in
happy hour).

Review from Pattaya-Addicts
May 2010: Soft Soapy
They had some soapy show going on the stage but the girls kept their
pants on, so it didn't do that much for me to be honest.
In the past Showcase had some attractive show girls, so this helps to
justify high drink prices, but none of the girls on stage at the time I
was there were particularly outstanding.
Review from Pattaya Secrets
December 2009: Some Beauties
Living Dolls Showcase had some beauties both on show and walking
around, no mystery why there are so many bums on seats in that place,
some stunners but not half as many as there were in Happy a Go-Go.
Review March 2009: Friendly
Reception
I visited the bar at a prime time of about 11pm. The bar was enjoying
a sizeable crowd who seemed to be enjoying the shows.
The format was for a few show numbers on the central stage, and then
a few numbers of when all the gogo dancers would take the stage. The
stints were not too long which is always good in my opinion.
I have a feeling that the bar doesn't really target hardened Pattaya
gogo fans though. The shows are choreographed but not outrageously sexy.
In the few numbers I saw the girls were a bit shy and kept their
knickers on throughout. Good looking girls, but their reputation of
being not so keen to go with customers diminishes the attraction
somewhat.
The gogo dancers were average (which of course is pretty good in
Walking Street). Again they were a bit shy, with only a couple of the
dozen on stage, taking their tops off.
The bar seemed to excel in meeting and greeting, lots of happy long
lost friends seem to be re-uniting with girls and staff from previous
visits. My service girl was well friendly too.
I can't say I was impressed by the dancing girls hunting lady drinks
in twos though. It always telegraphs to me a money grabbing attitude
rather than the desire for a one to one hook up.
I would suggest that this is one of the better bars in Pattaya for
farang couples. They can enjoy the friendly reception along with the
cabaret style show without it being too outrageous.
As a rather hardened pleasure seeker though, I found the
entertainment to be marginally sexy, and the drinks prices way too
expensive at 135 Baht for a bottled beer.
Review from
Pattaya Ghost, June 2008:
Ridiculously Priced
There were plenty of silicone-enhanced showgirls still left after 1
am, although they seemed content to play among themselves, leaving the
handful of customer in the bar to sip as slowly as possible on the
ridiculously priced 150-baht shorts.
Shows or not, LDS has to be the biggest clip joint in Pattaya. Even
Angelwitch, with shows and an environment five times better than
Showcase, prices their drinks at 145 baht. Remind me not ever to go back
there.
Review by polleke, Nov 2007:
Beautiful Girls
Visited the bar several times this week and really loved it.
There is a central stage crowded by more than average looking girls.
They have some shows but they can't compete with the ones in Angelwitch.
There was one girl though that was an outstanding dancer. However there
are so many lovely dancing girls, my eyes were caught by a gorgeous
hostess (barfine 600 Baht, 2000 LT)
Note: there are a couple of very beautiful girls, that have big
sponsors. I was told they ask 10,000 bath ST ( discount when they like
you). They actually get barfined 3-4 times a week. Certainly not by me.
Review July 2007:
Closely Packed
The bar may be a very popular show bar but I find the
drinks prices way too high to justify more than an occasional visit.
So given the new happy hour I thought I would give it
a go.
For the life of me I could not suss what they are up
to. Every single dancing girl in the bar was packed on the stage. There
were about 15 but as late comers rolled in they would get changed and
then add to the pack.
The girls were slightly above average with just a
couple revealing their tops. The stage was a bit too packed to really
allow for much in the way of dancing.
Certainly not worth watching, nor were there any girls
that were free to sit at your side for a chat.
I was totally baffled by the lack of entertainment
value in the the proceedings and my visits will surely remain
occasional.

Review March 2011: Good but No
Lollipop
As mentioned below Lollipop is a pretty sound bar with a couple of
drawbacks. There are often more girls dancing than those on hostess
duties. Not that this matters much as the girls aren't very pro-active
in looking for lady drinks. The norm for the bar is that mamasang
organises the girls to sit with customers.
This tends to make the bar more of a 'watching bar' than an
interactive bar, and it therefore hasn't really made much of an impact
with farangs.
However all is not lost, on my last visit the bar was doing quite
well with a fair few customers from various parts of Asia. Presumably
they prefer watching some of the very good looking dancers that are the
norm at Lollipop.
A perfectly good bar for a reasonably priced drink. deserving the
rather doubled edge adjective of 'no hassle'.
Review August 2010: Dance Too Much
Lollipop is one of the bars that has many of the features in place
that makes for a good bar.
It is tightly run and plays it straight. There's no hassle and the
staff and management are friendly and able.
There usually a fair amount of attractive girls and they have the
full range of dress codes from over dressed coyote to very little.
The drinks prices are reasonable too.
All sounds good bar one design flaw. The bar has nearly all the girls
dancing and the dance stint is overlong too.
The few girls on hostess duty, waiting their turn to dance, aren't
particularly pro-active in searching out lady drinks either. Perhaps
because their turn to dance will come around too quickly to make it
worthwhile.
One contributor to a Pattaya forum suggested that they have worked
around the over-dancing problem by sitting at the play table stage. It
seems that the girls there can take good care of nearby customers whilst
still nominally on their dancing turn.
Other than that, the bar is still worth a visit for those that prefer
watching over interacting.
Review by jj, April 2010: Nice
Experience
Lollipop seems to be a bar in decline, but one that has found a
comfortable plateau. Changes from earlier reviews are evident. Having
once employed 3-4 dozen girls, it is now down to a dozen-plus. Outside
hostesses/hello girls were apparently available for back-up if needed.
It seemed a bit strange to see coyote dancers, topless and nekkid
ladies all on the stage at one time. I suppose they are trying to appeal
to all tastes.
The Jacuzzi area in the back of the bar is now curtained off and the
play mat only seems to be used by request but the manager and the
girls seemed quite willing to do so if asked. The dozen girls were more
than enough for the 9pm customer demand. Those few customers were
generally experiencing an up-close-and-personal interaction. They also
seemed to be resident expats returning to the bar -- given the reaction
of the staff -- rather than first time tourists.
Comfortable seating, Walking Street prices, hands-on interaction,
reasonable volume of the music, all make for a very nice experience. One
added feature is that the katoey mamasan seemed to exempt the girls on
customer's laps or on the play mat from their normal dance rotation.
Review, October 2009: Worth a
Pop
The bar seems to have evolved a strange little characteristic that it
seems to be the mamasang and even the service girls who do the
connecting between girls and customers. If left to their own devices the
girls seem to like sitting together in distant recesses of the bar.
The bar is pretty traditional with the main focus of attention being
a fair amount of girls dancing on the central stage. There are usually a
few pretty girls and there is the full range of bikini or not on
display.
The play mat and Jacuzzi haven't been a big draw during my visits to
the bar. The play mat stage seems to have become just another dancing
stage.
All in all, a generally pleasant place for a drink that could improve
a little if the dancers were a little more pro-active in taking care of
customers.
Review, April 2009: Plateau
The gogo is pretty sound with good looking girls dancing on the
central stage with little in the way of clothing. Then there is a play
mat stage and a Jacuzzi at the back of the bar.
Drinks prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
Somehow I have drifted away from making this a regular stop on my
circuit. A couple of times it has been a bit depleted of girls and
another couple of times the girls have been bagged by younger and more
attractive customers.
Maybe I get the impression that they prefer the customers who like to
sit back and watch the dancing rather than those that prefer one on one
company. Just a matter of the available ratio of girls.
But still worth a try, I think I have just been unlucky.
Review by Ray, March 2008:
Moving up the League
Bit tricky to find, this bar, it's tucked under the Polo
Entertainment Centre and its entrance is permanently obstructed by the
crowd of rubberneckers gawking up at the gyrating Natasha in the Galaxy
Cabaret window.
Once you do manage to locate it you will find a bar that's deeper than
it's wide with the front section set up as a standard go-go and the rear
section fitted out with a jacuzzi and a sexy show table.
I've visited this bar a few times now and I think I'm getting the hang
of it. I picked out a dancer that caught my eye on the way through and
went back to check out the show. To my surprise the showgirl and my
dancer seemed to hit it off and as there weren't too many other
customers around we soon had a nice three way going.
When the show was over the showgirl leant over and whispered to me that
she was really pleased I had brought that particular dancer over as she
fancied her herself but hadn't had an excuse to get her hands on her
before!
Lollipop is rapidly moving up my personal league table.

Review December 2011: Gone to Moon Dust
I stopped by at prime time during the week before Christmas. The
welcome girl sounded a little desperate calling out the line: draft
beer only 65 baht.
Anyway I stepped inside expecting to be swooped upon by hoards of
tequila hunting agency models, but something was strangely awry...there
weren't any.
There were about four customers totally unhassled by anyone. There
was a perfectly friendly service girl who wanted immediate payment for
my drink, but pointed out that I could have a bin if I wanted.
On stage were a handful of unimpressive GoGo dancers in complicated
bikinis that were almost one piece costumes, and weren't really very
sexy at all.
After a few songs, there was a change of entertainment when a couple
of cabaret style showgirls took to the stage. But as they didn't quite
tick enough boxes of being young, pretty and female I took my leave.
So there you have it, a trip to the moon without being hassled in any
way whatsoever; and experiencing only a brief interaction with a
pleasant service girl; and enjoying a decent cheap beer. Better than I
ever thought possible. But I suspect that this is not the way it should
be, and something is up at Moon Club.
Review from pattaya-addicts.com September 2011:
Tequila Girl Hassle
Beware of the unwelcome hassle from tequila girls hunting in pairs.
They are way too aggressive in their demands to be bought an expensive
lady drink.
Review July 2011: A Wholesome GoGo
First a couple of corrections from the previous comments:
- There IS draft beer. San Miguel Light, tall glass, for 65 baht.
First time I've seen SML on tap. Mixed house drinks were 130.
- You CAN run a checkbin. I did, at least. Perhaps it depends on
circumstances as yet unidentified.
My impression of Moon Club was, at once, extremely favorable yet such
that I'm certain that I will never go back, or at least not more than 1
more time.
The club is extremely well done out. Curvy panels of LED lighting run
across the ceilings and down the walls. Most of the de'cor is white, but
not quite all done yet. A podium in the corner was still missing paint
and the cocktail tables are not fully functional yet (missing lights).
Still a work in progress.
It is, however, so small you have to go outside to change your mind.
It seats, comfortably at least, about 25 --- girls and customers total.
Very busy in its early days, I saw just as many people walk in, sit down
and then get up and leave before being served because of the
overcrowding. Staff were pulling up stools in the aisles in front of the
bench seating blocking the view of those behind. Left with no table,
however, the seats were quickly vacated as customers simply left.
The music system, on the other hand, is terrific and the DJ very
talented. It's loud, but not in the way that hurts your ears. You can
talk with the girl sitting next to you, but not much further away. The
music is all very danceable pop --- Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Pussycat Girls,
etc. -- and mixed well. Very enjoyable if that's your taste in tunes.
The staff seemed mostly comprised of contract girls --- some of whom
have worked for, in order, Sapphire Club, What's Up, Insomnia Club, and
Club Blu --- they seems to work 10 days at any one place.
Additional, surgically enhanced showgirls with pasties livened up the
looks. Tall, but no ladyboys that I could spot.
The bar is very, very much aimed at the Asian tourist and couples.
The lack of nudity, (half-hearted) choreography and Angelwitch show
tunes makes it very clear this bar is for the casual tourist on holiday.
For that, you cannot fault the owner who, of course, has been running
Rocket Club upstairs, aimed at the same market. With a door two steps
off of Walking Street, it's not only the expected move, but the smart
one, both from a business and police standpoint.
So, while the look, sound and (at least for now) talent are all very
positive, its tiny size and emphasis on the wholesome side of
go-go bars will mean it will be worth at most one follow-up visit.
Review from Pattaya forums, July 2011:
Expensive Show Bar
The bar has opened with very attractive agency coyote dancers. There
are also slightly more appropriately dressed show girls that are a bit
shy and hide their bits behind pasties.
The bars seems to be modelling itself more as a no take away show bar
rather than most bars and have set extremely high barfines to maintain a
full cast of dancers.
The show has yet to impress.
There's talk also of lady boys but this is unconfirmed.
Drinks prices are suitably high with no draft, 130-135 baht bottled
beers, 120 baht soft drinks and 150 baht lady drinks. Customers have to
settle the bill as soon as they receive a drink.
The decor seems to have impressed. It has a the theme of spaceships
and is mostly white. the girls are dressed in costumes alluding to space
suits.
Presumably the bar is targetting tourist couples rather than western
guys.

Naughty Girls
Renamed from Vixens in Jun 2006. Convenient rooms
Review January 2012: Low Key
This GoGo must be the most low key in walking Street. It hardly ever
gets a mention on the forums.
It's certainly not a high energy bar, nor is it hand's on, it hasn't
got the prettiest girls in town, nor has it a show, there's no sign of a
Jacuzzi, no play area, and there's certainly nothing to complain about
with the drink's prices. In short there's little to say about the bar.
It has a traditional centre stage, with girls in traditional gogo
attire, doing the traditional Isaan shuffle.
At least there's usually a few decent looking girls in attendance.
Not bad, not good, not naughty, just misunderstood.
Review January 2011: Sanctuary
If life is getting a little hectic at Walking Street's high energy
GoGos, and you fancy a moment of quiet reflection then Naughty Girls is
the place to go.
You can enjoy a relaxing beer in your own company, secure in the
knowledge that nobody will do anything that could possibly impinge on
your personal space.
And there is an attractive setting for your quiet contemplation. The
venue features modern, nicely styled decor and there are several
attractive dancers on the central stage. The girls provide a pleasant
background, but thankfully they never attempt to move into your
foreground, lest they disturb your peace.
So having supped your beer, you can emerge from the venue, relaxed
and composed, ready to head back into the high energy fun of Pattaya
nightlife.
Review July 2010: Moderate
Naughty Girls continues its very traditional approach to GoGo.
The bar has a narrow central stage featuring maybe be 10 girls
dancing at a time. They do a very slow rotation of one girl per song
making for a way too long 10 song dance session. There are generally
some attractive girls and they dance either topless or bikini clad.
There is comfortable bench seating around 3 sides of the square bar.
There is a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht.
The bars main drawback is that it does not seem to have a found a
good way to hook the girls up with customers.
Perhaps they seek to emulate Super Girls next door, where the girls
don't make the first move and wait for their number to be called by a
customer. Most customers in Super Girls are happy to bide their time
over a few beers whilst making their choice. But Naughty does not quite
attract the top notch level of girls required to make this mode of
operation work. Naughty ends up with a very moderate mix of an
uninspired show and not very interactive girls.
Review February 2010: Symmetry
There's a certain symmetry to Soi Diamond, with the two centre bars
on either side of the beer bar isle being somewhat bereft of ideas. (And
often, customers)
Naughty Girls is not too far off the mark. It is an attractive bar
with a central stage. There is comfortable bench seating around the
sides of the bar. There are table dancing positions set amongst this
seating, but it is rarely used these days.
On my last couple of visits there have been some very attractive
dancers on show too.
There's a 55 Baht draft beer and other drink prices are in line with
Pattaya norms.
The flaws that I see are that the girls dance a very long stint,
which is usually a cue to depart for anyone waiting for a particular
girl.
Secondly in common with neighbours, The Sea and New Star, the bar
seems to think that the most attractive girls should be given the
onerous job of sitting by the door. If it were my bar, I would assign
them the job of sitting with customers instead. Better to get at least a
few customers with as smile on their face, rather than concentrating on
getting people into the bar only to leave them lonely and bored.
Review June 2009: Middling
Now a very traditional gogo with not really much going on except the
stage full of girls. The bar still seems to err by having too many girls
dancing and not really enough on hostess duty. But better ratios then
about a year ago.
There are about 10 girls on stage and most are bikini clad with a few
topless. Probably about average for Pattaya but that means there are
several that are attractive. The dance roster is too long and if your
girls says I go dance, then the best reply is: ok I go check
bin.
From what I have seen recently the bar is struggling for customers.
I've not really helped out much by staying for a second drink, I have
been ignored, double teamed and targeted by the bar oldie.
The draft beer is reasonably priced.
The bar is not a million miles away from getting it right but at the
moment is does not seem a roaring success.
Review Jan 2009: Naughtier and
Better
Things seem to have improved at Naughty Girls. The bars has recently
abandoned its policy of making all available girls dance and there are
now a few that available for a chat.
Also a general air of happier girls may also have led to a few more
of them taking their tops off for dancing. The unrevealing black boob
tube that they used to wear has mostly been left in the changing room
where it belongs, and small standard bikinis are now the norm.
I am told that the lady drinks are now more tightly controlled and
customers are no longer stung for the expensive cocktail. It is hard to
check this out though as I make such a point of ordering a standard lady
drink that I am unlikely to get the girls trying it on.
In fact I was very well looked after by a friendly hands on dancer
and would have been tempted to stay longer if it wasn't for the still
overly long dance roster of about 7 songs.

Review October 2011: Body Paint
New Living Dolls is a long running and successful GoGo, that in style
and popularity, sits a notch just below the Happy group GoGos.
It is farang run and is therefore aware that the best customers are
repeat customers. The drinks & barfine prices are reasonable and the bar
is well run ensuring that there are no worries about hassles and other
silly tricks that some other bars get up to.
There are enough girls in the bar to have about 10 girls on stage at
any one time. The slow procession of GoGo dancing is punctuated by
frequent shows. The shows aren't choreographed, just girls making a bit
more of an effort than the usual dancers, with a few variations such as
body painting.
In terms of interaction with the girls, the bar is similar to the
Happy group. Customers won't get asked unless they signal their interest
to a girl. Then the girls are more than willing to oblige in partaking
in a lady drink or more.
The bar was doing a good trade without being particularly full.
Perhaps better than most given the low season visit.
Review August 2010: Business as Usual
The bar seems to be marking time nicely perhaps to be ready for a
good high season when the perennial visitors will flock back.
The basics of plenty of attractive girls and an efficient staff,
along with friendly managers should hold them in good stead.
The drinks prices seem to be creeping up though, but there's a good
happy hour and the cheap draft beer is retained for the whole evening.
My main low season gripe is that the show is a bit insipid,
especially compared with the 'good old days' a couple of years ago.
But on the whole the bar is pretty much business as usual.
Review April 2010: Better than
Ever
Thanks also to Pattaya Ghost
I stopped by at a prime time on a weekday evening and the bar seemed
better than ever. I seated my self down on the comfortable bench
seating, and before I knew it, a beautiful showgirl was bouncing on my
lap. Actually I've know her for a long time so it was hardly an
accident.
Whilst I was enjoying myself immensely, I rather think that my good
fortune was not exactly perfect for the bar. The reason I say its
better than ever, is that it is not quite so jam packed as it was a
year ago. Then I would have had to put up with a stool and would have
had little chance of finding an unoccupied girl free to lavish such
considerate care.
The bar is still doing well though, with a good amount of customers
and plenty of girls.
The shows have taken a bit of a strange twist. The popular full-on
lesbian shows have been dropped. Replacements seem to be mostly fully
clothed affairs. Even more bizarrely, the girls were taking off their
clothes just as soon as they de-staged, returning to rejoin their
drinking partners in the more traditional gogo attire of very little.
I picked up a little bit of gossip there too. Apparently the managers
have been trying to keep a log of girls and their monthlies. Whilst
being entirely sympathetic with the umbrage taken by the girls, one has
to wonder if perhaps days off weren't being sneaked in a little too
often.
Anyway enough of the tittle tattle, there were plenty of other more
sensual pleasures awaiting to be enjoyed by the obliging girls.
Review October 2009: Not So New
The bar has had a little time to settle down after a change of
management so time for a quick review.
There have been a few changes to the bar. The unused Jacuzzi has been
removed in favour of a small dancing podium. The seats have been
reupholstered but in essence the bar looks more or less the same as
before.
I also heard that the new owners has dropped the new prefix and refer
to the bar as Living Dolls One.
There were the usual extensive team of gogo dancers with about 12 on
stage at any one time for a dance roster of 6 songs. There is also a
team of showgirls who take to the stage for various lesbian antics and
the like. There are plenty of attractive girls on show.
Unsurprisingly the new management have made few changes to the
operation of the bar. If anything the bar has improved for me, as a
couple of girls bounded over for a bit of good taking care.
I am anticipating a return visit to the bar more than I have for a
long time.
News July 2009: Dolled Off
The bar has been sold and the new owners George and Simon will be at
the helm from the 1st August 2009.
Review May 2009: Dolls Indeed
After having found a comfortable seat I looked up at the stage to see
a dozen good looking girls with few clothes to share between them.
I relaxed to drink my free first beer and all was well.
I glanced round at the bar to find that it was well crowded with
appreciative customers enjoying the show.
There are plenty of service girls and there are plenty of managers
and owners and the like if you would like a chat.
The drinks are reasonable and the barfines are competitive.
The bar is also a no hassle bar where the girls leave you alone
unless called over.
Not really my sort of bar though, the no hassle policy coupled with a
high ratio of customers to girls usually ends up in the visit being a lonely drink.

Review January 2012: Playing the Odds
The small bar has a few old stagers that have been hanging around for
ages. But otherwise the bar has a rapid turnover amongst the younger
dancers.
So every time I go there is more a less a new dancing cast on
display. The bar is pretty good for dancing with short dance rosters and
often more attractive dancers than you would expect in a small bar.
In terms of interaction it is very hit or miss. It just depends on
the current crops of girls whether they are interested in socialising or
not.
It is one of those bars where the cheap draft is important, as it
makes it worthwhile for just a look see. If the dancing team is a bit
offish then nothing lost, but if it is a good day it can be fun to stay
for a few.
A totally inconsistent bar, but the odds of a good time are good
enough to make it worthwhile to at least take a look.
Review February 2011: Afternoon Fun
The afternoon GoGo scene seems to be in something of decline ate the
moment with some pretty disappointing customer/girls counts,
particularly in Sois 13.
But New Star is one of the better bets for afternoon fun. It usually
has a fair few girls with some of them being decent looking. The bar
works well for the afternoon audience with minimal numbers set to
dancing whilst the majority are assigned to customer care duties. The
dance roster is proportionally short too.
In fact the bar seems better in the afternoon than at night. In the
evening it can take on a harder edge. It particularly targets customers
that the touts can aggressively snag on the way to Super Girls. Then all
the best girls in the bar seem attached to the entrance to form part of
this snagging team.
No such nonsense in the day time and the bar provides a good hangout
for the afternoon trade. Not so sure about the short time rates though.
The charges are well uncompetitive. But a good place for a beer or two.
Review July 2010: Knowing the Ropes
The bar can be a bit of a mixed bag but there is always a chance of
hands on fun with a pretty girl.
The bar has a fair few girls for a small bar but there is usually
quite a range with some well pretty and some well past it.
There are usually just 3 or 4 dancing girls in the full range of
bikini to none. The star turns of the team does a play stage stint at
the front of the bar with thwack sticks and the like.
As there are few girls dancing at any one time this leaves a good
amount pf girls available for hands on customer care.
There's a cheap 55 Baht draft and lady drinks are ok at 110 Baht.
All seems pretty good in terms of the way the bar operates, but there
are a few things more that customers need to know.
Firstly the pretty girls are anchored to the seats around the front
door. They are available for hostessing, its just that when they
haven't got a customer, they have to sit near the door ready to impress
customers who poke their head inside for a look see.
The trick is just to select a seat near the front door so that you
are close enough to take a look, and be within smile/signal range to ask
a girl over. Sitting at the back of the bar tends to result in the old
stagers having first dibs.
The second thing customers need to know is that the girls will prey
ruthlessly on any newbies they detect. They can swarm around in seconds.
And one last thing to note is that the bar runs 2 shifts changing at
8pm. Both shifts can have some pretty girls, making the bar well above
average for daytime fun. Most other bars seem to have more of a 'second'
team on the daytime shift.
Review by Ishi Jan 2010: Merged
Stage
The smallest foam Jacuzzi in Pattaya is no longer used. It's a part
of the dance stage now.
The problem is that the bar runs out of water. It happens often,
there's no water in the toilet or in the kitchen. I'll never order
Draught Beer again!
Reader review Dec 2009: Worth a
visit
This bar is quite small but it's worth a visit.
Some of the girls are very beautiful, most of them in topless and
with very pretty breasts.
The staff are friendly and drinks are not too expensive.
Review by Ishi Nov 2009: Split
Stage
The stage is mow divided into 3, each one is less than 2 meters long.
The first stage from the entrance is a play mat where one naked lady is
dancing.
The center oval-shape stage is the smallest Jacuzzi in Pattaya. It
has almost 6cm high wall. Of course there is no water but just foam and
one naked lady is taking a foam bath.
The 3rd stage has 2 poles and 3 dancers.
Bar Fine, dancers are B600 but show girls are B700.

Review October 2011: Too Small
The bar has a good location and gets a good throughput of customers.
However the bar does not really have enough girls or enough space to
capitalise on this.
Sitting in the bar for an hour reveals how it rapidly fills up and
equally quickly empties again. There simply isn't enough good seating to
provide for many customers at a time. There's just a single bench seat
for 5 or 6 people. After that, there are a few seats around the front
stage that has no view of the main stage and a lack lustre dancer rarely
doing her best to entertain customers on the 'lonely benches'.
The girls are a mixed bunch, with usually a couple that attract
attention. And if the situation allows then they can be quite hands on
and fun.
It is a bar that is worth a look, but one must always be ready to
make a quick getaway if the best seats are taken.
Review September 2010: Minor Bar
The bar continues its minor bar existence. It is worth the occasional
pit stop as it usually has a few attractive girls and can get quite
hands on friendly when the mood is right.
There are usually 4 or 5 girls on the main stage and another 2 or 3
dancing on the tables and secondary stage.
One of these is designated as a show girl, partaking in the soapy
stage antics. There are no ring side seats so this adds very little to
the bar.
The dance roster is a bit too long for a small bar, so I guess if a
customer is being looked after by a dancer, "I go dance" often
correlates to "check bin".
As mentioned before, there are too many girls dancing on the main
stage which offers a good view to only a few seats in the bar. Perhaps
the bar could get a few useful tips from a psychologist.
Review May 2010: Half Full or
Half Empty?
The bar has had a reasonable crowd on my last couple of visits with
half the seats filled and the bar probably having a full quota of girls.
The girls dance in the full range of gogo attire. The girls are
probably an average crew which is pretty good for a small bar.
The arrangement of the bar probably means that half full is about as
good as it gets. All the dancing action is confined to the main stage
which is only visible for half the bar. The other half have to make do
with a lack lustre single girl on the secondary stage. Not really up to
much there.
Maybe a redesign of the bar could improve it from its current
middling status. After all the location is very good.
Review July 2009: Low Season
The bar had a low season feel to it with a rather underwhelming urge
to entertain.
There were about a dozen girls on duty of which 7 or 8 were dancing.
They were doing a 7 or 8 song rotation around all the various dancing
stages in the bar. The dress code is ether topless or bikini clad
depending on the girl's wishes. The girls were average, which is not to
say there weren't a couple of pretty girls.
There is also a single naked girl who was preening herself in a quasi
show in the middle of the main stage. She was on for quite a long stint.
As soon as the girls were finishing, they were reaching for dressing
gowns and departing out the front door. Either eating or supplementing
the welcome staff. Either way there weren't may girls looking after
customers in the bar, so it all seemed something of a dead loss to me.
Review Jan 2009: Unbalanced
Nui's 2 has never been a very successful bar for me and I put a lot
of the failings down to the layout of the bar.
There are just a couple of bench seats facing the main stage and
these seem to be the only area of the bar where customers get much
attention. It is also the only place where you can see the nude showgirl
who performs at the centre of the main stage.
The rest of the seating only gets a side view of the main stage and a
view of a shuffler or 2 on the secondary stage. Somehow this gives a
vibe of 'second best' and I guess that few guys stay long when seated
there. And hence they get ignored by the girls.
The girls are not particularly noteworthy but there usually a couple
of pretty girls on the evening shift.
The music is strictly for the girls.
Beer price is reasonable at 55 Baht for a small draft beer, but there
are no other bargains.
Review April 2008: Lucky Dip
Very much a lucky dip this bar, but with the odds stacked against
wining.
The bar tends to attract below average girls but this does not
preclude a few pretty girls in attendance.
There is a fairly long dance rotation with not really much in the way
of naughty stuff. Most of the girls are bikini clad but a couple go
topless.
Some of the girls provide hands on fun on your lap but most tend to
ignore customers.
Newbies should be very wary. Last time I visited, the mamasang was
trying to push a very expensive all-in fee on a besotted newbie.

Review January 2011: Still Pepped Up
Not much changes at Peppermint. They have a formula and stick to
it. It has cheap beer and reasonable lady drinks but the
takeaway prices are very top end. But within this ranges it
offers something for everyone, and hence maintains a perpetual
busy state.
Now there are 5 bars in the chain (Peppermint, Happy, Baccara,
Cavern and Beach Club), it is always tempting to speculate about
how they are running off against each other. On my last couple
of visits I think it is clear that the top notch girls have
moved on to Baccara, but there are still plenty of girls at
Peppermint to please most customers. If anything, the bar in the
chain that has suffered most from the ascendancy of Baccara is
Happy. This was pretty much a pick a number and go bar, but now
the best girls are gone, it is a little lacking.
Peppermint however has always had a bit more in the way of
interaction between girls and customers, and the lively
atmosphere has persisted better.
Anyway for all intents and purposes the bar is the same
successful GoGo bar that it has been for years.
News from Ishi, August 2010: Shows
Peppermint has now introduced a balloons and darts show
Review June 2010: The 2nd night at
Junior Mint
When they first announced that Peppermint Palace would be relocating
downstairs, owners of one of Pattaya's most popular go-go bars took
pains to assure fans the bar would remain the same in both style and
size.
It's not, a fact immediately obvious when you step through the door.
While it's laid out almost identically – and seats arguably the same
number of people – Peppermint has lost that cavernous feel that strikes awe
into first-time patrons. Upstairs it was Peppermint. Downstairs they
should consider renaming it Junior Mint.
But what Peppermint lost in size, it may have made up for in
atmosphere and comfort. A bar that always felt open and even a bit cool
now feels noticeably more intimate. Ceilings are lower, tables are
closer to the stage and – thankfully – there's much less floor space for
dozens of girls to gather, squeal and scramble for ping pong balls.
Design-wise, it's almost as if you're wandering into the alternate
universe Peppermint. It looks the same, but with subtle differences.
There are now just 2 table dance stations, instead of 4. The stage has
the same shape, but is just smaller. The Peppermint Beach sofa
seating has moved to the left and The Cage is still there, but is
smaller and tucked far back in the corner with less of a view.
Both customers and staff reported that Thursday's grand opening was
packed to the rafters. As noted, the bar does seat close to as many
people in a more confined space. So crowding – which often was a problem
during high season upstairs – now could be a permanent condition when
(if?) the tourists return to Pattaya.
Friday, thanks to a torrential downpour, saw the bar back to more
customary customer levels for low season and while parts of the bar are
indeed narrower than before, the back section of the bar is about the
same width and at no point felt claustrophobic.
Peppermint also feels fresher. The barstools were all reupholstered
before being taken downstairs and the transplanted tables also got a bit
of an upgrade. The stage-side bars are lit and look as if they came from
the same supplier as those in Baccara. And the air conditioning is
obviously new: Once customers cleared out after 11, it got positively
frigid.
The only drawback in the look at this point is the lighting, which
uses the same fixtures as in Baccara and The Cavern and makes the bar a
bit darker than Peppermint. But management said lighting work is not yet
complete and more illumination is being added.
After an extended visit, it was hard to find fault with Peppermint
2.0. The smaller size may end up being a plus, as the upstairs bar has
faded in recent years amid tougher competition and smaller tourist
crowds. It certainly will draw more trade being on the street level and
the cozier confines put customers closer to the action.
Review June 2010: Sitting Pretty
Peppermint has been around a long time and is one of the proven
success stories of Walking Street. And yet I always consider the
design/layout to be poor.
The main area of comfortable seating as you first enter the bar has a
very restricted view of the entertainment, the majority of which is
going on at the back end of the bar.
And in the well entertained back section there is mostly only
uncomfortable stool seating that usually drives me out after a single
beer.
The theory must be therefore that customers will put up with a bit of
discomfort if the girls make it worth their while. And of course
Peppermint can command some of the best. Saying that though on my last
visit the bar had plentiful good looking girls but maybe not quite the
top notch standard needed to make people put up with uncomfortable
seats.
This time I opted for the restricted viewing area, and enjoyed the
company of a friendly and non-pushy girl over the course of a few
reasonably priced drinks. All was well with the world and I wondered if
the new downstairs version of Peppermint will have a better seating
layout.
News from Peppermint, January 2010:
Re-locating
Lets clear the confusion. Peppermint will not close, in the not too
distant future it will be re-located to the ground floor of the marine
complex, and something I have always wanted as it will off street access
to many new customers. An area has already been allocated and the size
will be the same as it is now and the same concept will be used. This
will happen sooner than later but will result in no closure of
Peppermint.
Review September 2009: Longer
Lasting Mint
I made quite an early evening visit and everything seemed pretty much
as it has been for as long as I can remember.
The only change that was immediately apparent was the bar has
dispensed with the topless bar idea. I guess it hasn't really made any
difference as the bar was at the poorest viewing point of the whole
venue.
There are still naked cage dancers, topless gogo dancers, negligee
clad side stage dancers and a few table dancers on top.
I got a friendly reception from one of the girls who remembered me
from a quick beer at Club Oasis.
The drinks prices are still reasonable and they are still served by
male service staff.
But most importantly, there is still a very large contingent of
attractive girls.

Review April 2009: Playaway
The bar targets Asians and East Europeans with a mix of gogo and
unerotic shows with darts and whistles etc.
There are no welcome signs suggesting prices as no doubt there is a
cover charge including first drink for some whilst farangs breeze in
unmolested for the normal pay as you go price structure. The draft beer
was reasonable at 65 Baht.
The bar is narrow with central stages, two dancing stages and a
Jacuzzi. The naked girl was soaping herself throughout and the dancers
were bikini clad.
The girls were friendly enough and would pop over to inquire of your
birthplace. But they weren't hasslesome if you preferred to be left
alone.
In fact a perfectly decent sort of small bar with many of the usual
gogo entertainments.
There was one tiny little almost insignificant problem though...the
girls were well below Walking Street average.
Review Sept 2008: Pleasantly
Surprised
I was rather suspecting a bar that was a bit more hardened to
fleecing the bells and whistles crowd but the bar was not such a lost
cause.
The steep steps up to the first floor bar wouldn't survive health and
safety rules in Farangland. They are pretty unattractive as
aesthetically too.
But inside the bar is bright and attractive along similar lines to
Airport below.
There are 3 stages, 1 is for gogo, the other alternates between gogo
and bells and whistles shows for the tourists. In the centre is a
Jacuzzi complete with a a suitably soapy girl. There are no seats near,
so no chance of any hands on fun.
All drinks prices are reasonable and the standard for the Nui's group
bars. So no premium to watch a show you didn't want to see in the first
place.
The gogo girls were a little reluctant to take their tops off and
there are none of the the cuties that are reserved for downstairs duty
at Airport Club.
I spoke to a couple of the dancing girls and it made for a very
pleasant couple of drinks. They were not pushy and were charming
hostesses with plenty of tales from a longish gogo careers.
The service was also good.

Review October 2011: Trying Hard
The bar features the currently fashionable centre stage layout.
In fact there is a small variation, in that the centre stage is
split in two. There is comfortable bench seating down one side and
stools down the other.
There is also a Jacuzzi feature towards the back of the bar
featuring a naked lady trying to entice a few customers to her
bathside.
The dancing stages were filled with half a dozen girls in
traditional gogo wear. They were probably a little below walking
Street average, but there were a couple who would turn a few eyes.
There was quite a busy mamasang working hard to conjure up a bit
of life from the dancers, and also trying to hook up customers with
girls.
It seems that the bar is trying hard, but really the sprinkling
of customers didn't give the impression that the efforts were
succeeding. For my own little contribution I stayed, just for a one
drink look, as I heard that the lady drinks are on the high side at
150 Baht. But the offerings on show weren't worth paying the premium
pricing for.
The bar seems modelled on Airport or Iron, but hasn't built up
the necessary momentum yet to make it work. Possibly the location is
working against them. But at least they seemed to be trying hard to
make it a lively venue.
News from Pattaya forums, June 2011:
Open
The bar features two centre stages with about half a dozen dancers on
each. The dress code is mixed from bikini to very little.
There's a water feature with dancers in wet t-shirts.
The decor is dark with mirrors.
An average line up for the opening day but that is often the case as
a bar has to gain momentum before being able to attract top notch girls.
There was no draft beer at opening leaving an unattractively
expensive 120 Baht option for bottled beer. However the bar has stated
that a cheap draft beer will be laid on shortly.

News March 2009: Bells & Whistles
Shows
Rocket A-GoGo upstairs on Soi Diamond seems to have taken a change of
direction. The previous manager Kuhn Artit has moved on to Gamebird 2 on
Soi 15. The bar has now become a bells and whistles show targeting
Asians and East European couples.
The welcome staff signs for cheap drinks have vanished so presumably
the drinks prices have inflated somewhat. Draft beer is 110 Baht and
bottled beers are 130 Baht.
The bar seemed to have more customers than in its previous
incarnation so must be doing something right.
Review by Mr Mats Oct 2008:
Rocket Play
I found a new place for me, Rocket GoGo.
Seated beside the jacuzzi I found two pretty girls and I could play
with them too. Very friendly and the service staff were nice to me - an
old man from Europe.
Draft bear 40 bath before 22:00 and 55 after.
Review Sept 2008: One Fatal Flaw
There are many good things to say about the bar, particularly for a
Thai run bar.
Drinks prices are good and there is a little hassle from the girls or
staff. All the usual gogo entertainments are there including the almost
inevitable Jacuzzi.
There seems just one thing missing, pretty girls!
Getting customers to upstairs bars is always difficult but its seems
that getting the girls to climb the stairs is nigh on impossible.
Review by Fontok, Feb 2008:
Nicely Laid Out
Rocket Club A-GoGo is situated upstairs on Soi Diamond
Access: They have chopped off the last few
yards of the beer bar below to make an entrance lobby. Go upstairs
(usual steep thai steps). The gogo is on the first landing. If you go
further up, you could find the room(s) for gogo girls that are too tired
and need to take a rest...
The Bar: Nicely laid out with good bench
seats round the edge and tables with chairs. About 8 girls on stages,
while two girls were washing in the Jacuzzi. Appears the changing rooms
must be small, so they had to wash in public!
Drink prices were sensible and sticky signs round the top of the
mirrored walls with the "price list". Draught Chang was 55 Baht.
Smokers: They have realised bout the new No
Smoking Ban and have converted one of the men's toilet cubicles into a
Smoking Room (or so the sign on the door says).--- quick thinking that!
Well done, even though I am not a smoker.
Yes, I will go back and give it another go. May not be many girls there
yet, but some friendly and I am willing to follow up their approaches...
I think the BF was 600 Baht, which is pretty standard these days. Did
not have the time to find of what the girls wanted... Most seem fresh
from the countryside, or so their dancing skills told me (I was taught
about reading dance skills a long time ago from an ex-gogo girl in
Bangkok).
Review from Bob, Feb 2008: More
of the Usual
Entrance is narrow staircase right before Paris a Go Go. The,
what has become usual, interior for new go go's - stage for 4-6 girls,
jacuzzi, comfortable seats, etc., etc., etc.
Line up was less then spectacular.
You really have to question the wisdom of someone opening a new go go on
the second floor as the season winds down. Even many of the ground floor
go go's can barely get more then a handful of customers these days.
Not yet worth the climb up the steps.

Review February 2012: Off the Radar
My recent visits at ever declining frequency have not really been
very successful. There's nothing whatsoever that's strikingly
obvious as to why, its just a bunch of little things that add up.
There's usually a sprinkling of good looking girls on hand but
they are a little bit choosy as who they approach, if anyone at all.
The high seating to the left of the bar as you walk in is a
little too far from the action, and the moment you sit down you know
that you will be ignored.
Best to sit on the right where you are closer to the stage and
the main foot traffic that passes by.
It's one of those bars that would be so much better if the girls
were just a little bit more interactive.
Review March 2011: Always a Chance
The bar has cut back on its previously large team of welcome
staff. It used to compete with the likes of Iron and Casnovy, but
now just a couple of girls outside in the usual check patterned
dresses.
Inside is a bit hit and miss in terms of interaction, but there's
usually a fair few good looking girls for those who enjoy watching
the dancing. They usually cram the stage with girls and perhaps
don't leave enough on hostess duty. There is also a show segment to
the stage entertainment. Perhaps more an excuse to raise the
barfines of the prettiest girls rather than any serious competition
for Angelwitch.
Its really then just about how many customers there are in the
bar. If you can get hold of a pretty girl for company most things
seem good about the bar. If not, then it is all a bit middling.
Last time I was sitting between two tables of free spending
farangs and they were having a great time cornering more or less all
the non-dancing girls in the bar.
If one had asked them, then they would surely say it was the best
bar in town. I on the other hand, found it to be a bit naff due to
the lack of available girls. The truth must lie somewhere in
between.
Comment January 2011: Naff
In agreement with a couple posters on Pattaya forums it seems
that the girls don't appear to approaching the customers of late,
perhaps some new bar policy.
The side stages seem pretty naff with girls being bored and
overdressed, so consequently being ignored by customers, and so the
reason for the girl's boredom. And so defines a downward spiral.
Update from Ishi December 2010:
Show's Off
Roxy have ended their long running stage shows. The central stage
is now limited to the usual gogo dancing.
However the bar has installed a substage behind a window along
the lines of the shower shows in Sisterz & Champagne. 3 girls do a
15 minute strip show once an hour
There is also another substage with either topless dancers or
coyotes.
Update from Ishi December 2010:
Roxy restarted their shows on the main stage again. But for the
moment the show time is just five minutes. The show is very simple,
three dancers strip while sucking bananas.
It seems that the temporary end of shows was down to showgirls
quitting rather than a change of direction form the bar.
Review August 2010: Strong Showing
For those that like a bit of a show, then Roxy is one of the best
on Walking Street. It features very attractive girls, a generally
fun atmosphere and also a cheap beer option.
In fact a few months ago it was also starting to capture a share
of the market of those customers who prefer to interact with the
girls. I may have been unlucky on my last couple of visits, but
there were few girls on hostess duties whilst the stage was packed
with dancers. A late night visit had to be a quick U turn as every
single available girl was set to dancing with none to take care of
customers.
But returning to those that like the show, then the bar offers
alternate shifts of a stage packed with lively dancers and then show
girls in a choreographed erotic presentation. Not quite as
professional as Angelwitch, but not bad. Not quite as naughty as
certain 'specialist' bars, but not bad.
Male service staff is a bit of a downer though.
There are also many attractive welcome girls that can be enticed
in, but the lady drinks have to flow freely otherwise they soon have
to depart back to welcome duty.
Review November 2009:
Opportunity Knocks
With Polo closed as a show bar and with Angelwitch developing
something of a reputation for hassle, then surely Roxy has a good
chance to capture some of the trade for shows.
The bar has a much friendlier drinks price policy than Angelwitch
and there are plenty of good looking girls participating in the shows.
Perhaps the shows are a little less impressive but the more easy
going bar atmosphere makes up for the difference.
Hopefully the bar can therefore attract a few more show going
customers. But it is not really the sort of bar for customers seeking
company, the girls don't generally circulate the bar in search of lady
drinks and the likes.

Review December 2011: A Remake Not as Good as the
Original
It is always exciting to see what's new when a major upgrade takes
place. And indeed the newly enlarged bar makes a good visual impression.
The bar has expanded into 2 next door units so maybe is about twice as
big. The bar is now rectangular as opposed to the more square shape
before. there is a long central-ish running lengthways down the bar. It
is surrounded by Baccara style sofa seating. And most impressive of all,
the stage was jam packed with dancers.
My visit started with a niggle though, the 65 Baht draft beer displayed
so prominently on the welcome boards does not exist. Presumably it's on
its way, but why display the signs when it isn't yet available? Having
spent a good packet on the refurbishment why not invest a tiny amount
more on correctly priced signs. After all the bottled beer is perfectly
reasonably priced and a 75 Baht happy hour beer price would be a
perfectly attractive promotion on a sign.
Sitting down to survey the bar, I started to think that the new design
wasn't all that ideal. Bigger does not necessarily mean better for a
GoGo bar. The distance to the stage is all important, there is something
very sexual about proximity. Also greater distance can make signals of
interest such as smiles, gestures and gaze that little bit harder to
pick up. I felt that Sapphire has the bench seating around the sides of
the bar just that little bit too far away. This is especially true on
the shorter sides of the bar which have a poor viewing angle on the long
thin stage. At the worst seats, one just sees the couple of
dancers at the end of the stage.
There is also a Jacuzzi at the back of the bar. It is not located
for general viewing though, so is basically entertainment for those
sitting directly at the bath side. Something to try on the next visit.
And then there is the issue of coyote dancers. It seems to be that 2/3rd
of the dancers are coyotes wearing shorts, bras and tops. Admittedly the
shorts were about as small as they could possibly be. But I for one find
coyote dancing unappealing. Firstly nudity is so much more attractive,
and secondly coyote dancers are on average for more likely to be
'unavailable' due to personal choice, sponsorship, price, or just being
selective. And of course their barfines are higher for no reason that I
can fathom (beyond them being supplied by an agency).
It was also strange how the bar has organised the shifts. The girls were
split into 3 teams and every so often the teams change. This seems a
perfectly good idea, but what I couldn't understand, is why two of the
teams were entirely made up of coyotes. So for the majority of the time
there is no nudity on display. Wouldn't it be a better idea to
distribute the gogo dancers amongst all the teams so that there are
always some nude dancers on stage for those that like that sort of
thing.
On the positive side, the bar has built up a very good customer base in
a relatively short time and the sheer popularity of Sapphire brings with
it a very lively atmosphere. The Thursday parties have traditionally
been a great success and I don't suppose minor niggles about coyote
dancers will be much of an issue then.
Review by Ishi November 2011: Mostly Coyote
Sapphire
Club re-opened a few nights ago. It has expanded into 2 next doors units
and is to be found at the centre of Soi 15.
The bar now features the almost inevitable Jacuzzi. There are now
single sofas around the stage like Baccara.
The dancers are divided into 3 teams. Each team having 13-17
dancers.
The 1st team is made up of coyote dancers, topless and bottomless
gogo dancers.
The 2nd and 3rd teams are disappointingly all coyote.
There are no shows or similar to break the pattern.
The bar has ratcheted up the bar fines somewhat with the
traditional counter intuitive higher fees for the less entertaining
coyote dancers.
1st rate gogo dancers have an 800 Baht bar fine before midnight,
and 600 after.
2nd rate coyote dancers have an 1000 Baht all night bar fine.
3rd rate coyote dancers have the same bar fines as the GoGo
dancers
News September 2011: Expansion
From the 1st of October the Sapphire Club will be closed for
renovations. It will be expanding and and will open with a new look.
The work is expected to be complete for a re-opening on 25th
November 2011. And it duly opened as expected to large crowds.
Review September 2010: Progressing Well
The bar seems to have established itself rapidly and now boasts a
large dancing team and a fair amount of customers too. There were a
fair few good looking girls amongst the dancers.
The girls are not shy to take good care of customers who in turn
seem to be enjoying the bar.
On a recent visit, Steve, previously a large presence at New
Living Dolls One, was on meet and greet duties.
On my last visit there were 8 girls dancing and maybe another
dozen or so on customer care duty whilst waiting their turn to
dance. The girls were dancing mostly topless but to an overlong
dance roster of 8 songs.
The bars that can hire the prettiest girls in town tend to get
away with longer dance rosters as they can attract guys who are
happy to watch pretty girls dance. Bars that target more hands-on
customers really need get the girls back to their lady drinking a
bit quicker. It's notable that the bars that are most successful in
this genre, Windmill and Baby Dolls, keep the dance roster down to 4
songs.
But saying that, on one occasion, girls with lady drinks in front
of them were excused dancing duties, so then there was no issue with
the 8 songs. On another occasion, there weren't enough girls in the
bar, and so no dancing exemptions. Then I am afraid: I go dance,
gets the response: OK, see you next time, check bin.
I also had to shoo away a mamasang on drinks begging duty. She
was more aggressive than most, and she pushed me a bit close to
annoyance levels before giving up the hassle. But I was with a very
accommodating girl so this minor annoyance was soon forgotten.
The drinks prices are in the reasonable band.
On balance, the vibe seems very good, and things look very
promising for the bar.
Review May 2010: Dazzling
I stopped by at the opening party and I am sure that this will
prove somewhat atypical and a more realistic review will soon
follow.
I was greeted with a lively bar full of girls and half full with
customers, who seemed to be fellow countrymen of the bar's Irish
ownership. In fact I was then personally greeted by the owner,
always a nice touch.
There are plenty of pointers that this will be a well run Farang
bar with a good attitude to customer care. The drinks prices have
started at a reasonable level with a 65 Baht draft beer and bottled
beer at 100-110 Baht. There is a comprehensive drinks menus on each
table, always a good idea.
There were plenty of girls with the main team dancing on the
central stage. They were an above average team, especially good for
an opening night. They were making a fair effort in dancing too.
They were all bikini clad though, but you can never read much into
the opening party as perhaps there were dignitaries or wives etc on
the guest list.
On the downside the bar has adopted the recent trend for very
loud music, not quite the loudest but too loud for a comfortable
conversation. (The Cavern was later notable for not following the
trend and keeping the volume down).
Oh and the great looking lighting was a real pain. They had some
sort of manic light robot out of Terminator 2, with a pre-programmed
mission to dazzle the customers with blasts of amplified light. I
got well pissed off with it very quickly. No doubt it will be
re-programmed or re-booted very soon.
Perhaps feeling a bit sensitive after being attacked by the light
robot, I found the main stage lighting badly placed too. It was hard
to see the girls as lights at the opposite side of the stage were
also shining in my eyes and a little bright too.
Still the bar looks good and the owners seemed to have a good
attitude so hopefully Sapphire Club will be a welcome addition to
the hot competition of Soi 15.

The Sea
Walking Street: Soi Diamond From 8pm
 |
 |
The
Sea
Understated gogo with plenty of attractive girls but very little
extra entertainment to make it stand out from the rest.
Review January 2011: Swell
There seems to have been something of a shift in foot traffic over
the last year. Highly successful gogos on Walking Street and Soi 15
seem to have taken some of their trade at the expense of those on
Soi Diamond. The basic gogos of Paris (now closed), Carousel, The
Sea and Naughty Girls are probably most in the firing line. The
others have various specialities that are diverting enough for
customers to make an effort.
Anyway of the four mentioned, the Sea has been the most
successful at upping their game to keep hold of customers.
In fact on my last couple of visits, there have been quite a few
girls keen to get a bit interactive. And consequently there have
been quite a few happy looking customers enjoying the bar.
The Sea has always had a goodly amount of dancers for a small bar
and the bar has consistently maintained a good quota of attractive
girls.
It doesn't really compete with the new breed of high energy bars,
but it is a good example of a more traditional format GoGo.
The draft beer is cheap at 55 Baht, but the music is a bit too
noisy, verging on uncomfortable.
Review June 2010: Lively
As only an occasional visitor to the Sea I was pleased to see that
the bar seems to have loosened up a little on my last visit.
There was the usual gaggle of attractive girls but they seemed to
be having more fun than usual and actually interacting with the
customers. I looked around and noticed that the previously noted
officious mamasang wasn't marching around the bar trying to
implement her rather aggressive band of match making.
And lo and behold, the girls were doing a better job for
themselves. Otherwise the bar was pretty much the same as before
with plenty of girls on stage wearing less than an average amount of
bikini bits.
The beer is still cheap and the music is still dance, Now the
question is, whether my unfavourite mamasang has departed or was she
just having the night off.
Report September 2009:
Matriarchy
Still a bar that doesn't appeal to me at all.
There are always plenty of girls, many of them well attractive.
They have a fair few on stage and are generally topless or less.
The trouble is that the girls seem uninterested in finding a
drinking partner. The more attractive they are, the more they have a
stern resolve to march off the stage to their seat crowding around the
door.
It seems to be the job of the mamasang to try and match up the girls with
the customers. But this method leaves some seemingly unfriendly body
language interaction with the girls who have just marched past all the
potentially interested customers ignoring them.
The matriarchal controls also extend to negotiating with the
customers for the girls offsite fees. Again the higher than average
demands adds to the unfriendly atmosphere of the bar.
But if you just want to have a beer and watch some pretty girls on
stage, then the bar is sound enough.
There's also a good 55 Baht draft beer in a decent sized glass.
Report August 2009: Up Front
Afront
Reports that the mamasang is demanding an unrealistic 2500 fee (bar
fine not included) for
long time for the girl to be paid up front
Review April 2009: Non-Committal
A very basic smallish gogo that usually fails to get me to stay
beyond the first drink. The bar is generally blessed with a large
team of dancers several of whom are very attractive. They mostly dance
topless with a light skirt affair. The drinks prices are reasonable
with a 55 Baht draft beer. I am not keen on the way the girl
selection works though. It is one of those bars where the girls ignore
the customers unless the customer makes an effort to flag her down via
the mamasang. What's more, the prettier girls seem to have the
important job of sitting near the door and cannot be disturbed from
this critical work except at the command of the mamasang. The
trouble is with the system, is that having made the choice via the
mamasang, then the staff all seem to get pushy as if you had committed
to a barfine choice. But if you're happy with the way the bar works
then most other aspects are fine.
Review Sept 2008: Drifting
A perfectly good GoGo bar that has rarely persuaded me to stay for
a second beer. There are always plenty of girls on hand, of which
there are always a few pleasing on the eye.
Without studying it for long, I have a feeling that one of the
failings of the bar is that the cutest girls are given the job of
hanging around the door. Their job is attract in newcomers rather than
socialise with the oldie customers. Sometimes I have visited and the
girls have been very slow to glance around at the customers let along
stop by for a chat. This is not a hard and fast rule, it just seems
the average. Otherwise beer prices are good, the music is slightly
loud dance and the girls dress in the range of bikinis to nothing.
Perhaps unusually these days, there are no signs of Jacuzzis, showers
or play stages.

Shark Club
A-GoGo

Lounge & Fahrenheit are in the same ownership.
Review January 2012: Clone
I have stopped by a couple of times and never really had much
luck in the bar. The bar is perfectly decent with its central stage
being well populated with dancers of which several are well
attractive enough.
Perhaps there are too many girls on the stage and not enough on
hostess duty. There always seems to be a smattering of
customers many of which look a bit lonely. Several of the girls were
being friendly sitting with customers but just not enough. The basic
dancing show is not quite exciting enough just to sit and watch, and
and the girls aren't quite top notch enough to stun guys into
passive watching mode.
The bar seems to have traded up from its previous incarnation
that had lots of rough edges but also a lot of character. Now it is
a lot more professional and slick, but it seems to exist as a rather
unexciting clone of several other bars following the same theme. The
upstairs location is probably enough to ensure that Shark stays
second fiddle to similar downstairs bars.
Perhaps upstairs bars would be better advised to target a niche
rather than become a clone.
Maybe a bit overly critical as the bar is quite fine. It's just
that I rather miss the old Shark Club which was one of my favourites.
Review March 2011: Renovated
The bar has now re-opened after a month of renovation.
The bar is totally restyled, changing from table dancing to a
gogo with a central stage. Perhaps taking a cue from the successful
launch of sister bar Fahrenheit, the bar is laid out similarly with
a long thin central stage packed with girls. There are also a couple
of small podiums at the end. There is plenty of comfortable bench
seating and it is a little more spacious than Fahrenheit.
The bar has actually decreased in size overall with some space
being given to an open walkway to the adjoining Tiger A-GoGo.
The bar has some good looking girls dancing, but on my visit the
fashion for cramming the stage with dancers means a vey long dance
roster of 30 minutes. Hopefully just a teething problem whilst they
get act together. The girls were dancing in a range of not much to
very little. The standard issue bikinis are very revealing.
The bar has kept the generally reasonable drinks prices but the
bar seems to have dropped the happy hour.
But it all looks pretty good. Hopefully they won't lose Shark's
emphasis on good hands on fun in trying to recreate the high energy
'watching' bar of Fahrenheit.
News October 2010: A Tale of Two Ends
The difference between the 2 ends of the bar seems to be
maintained.
Easily the best end is the old Shark Club end, accessed from Soi
Diamond. The girls are friendly, hands on, and are dressed in a
negligee affair.
At the old Shark GoGo end, accessed from Soi 15, the girls simply
aren't as friendly and certainly not so keen on the lap dancing
stuff. The dress code is a sometimes knickerless short skirt and
almost mandatory bikini top.
Given the high end drinks prices, the GoGo end offers poor value
compared with many better options. But the Club end is at least
competitive in terms of fun and atmosphere and so is worth a try.
News April 2010: Prices
The bar has generally been a success in the Thai-Anxiety rankings.
It scores well in terms of having a decent number of good looking
girls who are often quite hands-on friendly.
Perhaps the biggest long term draw back is that the girls are sent
on a long dance circuit of usually 7 tables. 7 songs is a little too
much especially when they can be very long dance music tunes.
But there are usually enough girls that one usually gets a decent
amount of hostess time before the girls go dance.
More recently though the bar seems to have had a bit of a charge on
drinks prices leaving soft drinks and lady drinks amongst the most
expensive of all gogos in town. Perhaps the latest hike was a little
too much though, as there was a rapid rethink and the introduction of
a decent happy hour of 70 Baht on nearly all customer drinks.
One of the better GoGos in town, but now on my semi boycott list of
bars where I don't want to encourage spiralling prices.
News June 2009: Club or GoGo
The recently merged Shark A-GoGo/Shark Club still seems to be
finding its feet with a pretty variable experience depending on the
day of the week.
Although the bar is knocked through the, two ends of the bar still
have a different feel, presumably down to having a mamasang for each
end of the bar.
I very much recommend the Club end of the bar (ie above Super
Girl). For some reason the girls are far more likely to seek out a few
tips and hands on fun at that end of the bar. The girls at Soi 15
entrance end seem to be solitary creatures.
Both ends of the bar suffer from an over long dance roster of at
least 7 dance songs. I tend to take this is a cue to move on.
The music is always of the dance variety but wildly random volume
levels make for very different experiences. Sometimes it is very loud,
similar to Casnovy and sometimes the music is kept down. One has to
suspect that it's something to do with the boss being present or not.
Anyway I have certainly had a few good sessions mostly at the Club
end of the bar and it is definitely on my regular circuit.
News Dec 2008: Merged into
Shark Club
Shark Club and Shark A-GoGo have now been merged into one with the
name Shark Club A-GoGo. There are still separate teams of girls with
mamasang at each end of the enormous bar area, but the dividing walls
have been removed.
The Shark A-GoGo end of the bar now seems to have taken on the
procedures of Shark Club.
This include the girls being hands on friendly. I surely enjoyed my
stay in the bar. Seems a big improvement on the old Shark A-GoGo
Review Dec 2008: Enjoyable
The bar seems to have calmed down a bit from when I first stopped
by when it seemed one of the most lawless bars on the circuit. I now
enjoy the bar and nearly always seem to find a pretty girl to play
with. It is surely a hands on bar but not quite as raunchy as Windmill
or Babydolls. But by way of a compromises they have a regular supply
of very pretty girls.
There are usually about 20 girls in the bar of which 7 are dancing
a circuit of 7 tables. This leaves a fair amount of time for the girls
to get busy on their potential customers, but when they go dance 7
songs is too long and is often a cue to depart. The dancing dress code
is generally well revealing. The drinks are a little pricey but just
about within range. It seems strange that this bar is so much better
than Tiger A-GoGo and Tiger Lounge in the same ownership.
Review March 2008: Suck It and
See
I have never quite got the hang of this bar. It seems just a matter
of luck whether the girls are feeling naughty or demure. There are a
fair few pretty girls and perhaps not quite enough customers. So the
girls can get a little bored. But if you catch them at the right time,
they can be a lot of fun. The table dancers used to look for tips
but the excess of table dancing venues tended to put a stop to this
style of operation. The chances of bagging a pretty girl for a bit
of fun on your lap make this bar worth a visit, but one should be
ready to make a quick departure when there is nothing doing.

Beware of mamasangs asking for girls fees upfront. Not only is it very

up the oh too common excuse to turn long time into short time.
Review October 2010: Jam Packed
The bar hasn't really sorted out the design issues of the front
section of the bar feeling a little more like a corridor than part of
the bar. Dancing cages have now appeared rather than the simple table
dancing positions that were there before.
It was not attracting many customers and most were quickly moving on
to the very busy back section.
The main stage was packed with girls dressed in a range of bikini to
nothing. Plenty of attractive girls on show. and lots of customers seem
to like the format of the bar. There was also a show which is basically
the same as usual just with less clothes.
The sheer number of people makes for quite a lively atmosphere. But I
wasn't entirely convinced by the plus points as the downside of the
number of girls dancing, is that they don't get much time with customers
before they are called up for another session of adding to the dancing
scrum.
Review March 2010: Dance Too
Long
I have never really found much to attract me to Silver Star, so it
has been year since my last visit.
The 'good' news was that high end drinks prices have been frozen for
a year, and the draft beer is still 'just' 95 Baht.
I didn't get far into the bar though, as I was recognised by several
girls dancing on the tables in the corridor area. It seems that half a
dozen of the Blue Lagoon girls have made this their new home.
Strangely the sofas in this section of the bar are already
dilapidated and it has only been open for a little over a year. It
didn't seem to be due to over-use, as I was about the only customer
sitting in the corridor section.
The inner section of the bar seemed to be doing good business though,
with plenty of girls and customers.
Anyway I didn't stay long as the girls dance for too many songs with
too short a break to make it worthwhile buying then a drink. Pretty much
the same as a year ago.
Review March 2009: Lonely
Corridor
The bar has now extended with a new section of the bar at the front
nearest Walking Street. Several table dancing stages have been added.
Perhaps a little bit early to judge, but it seemed a very lonely
entertainment area. There were dancers for each table but there were no
spare girls available for chatting with customers. As other customers
are continually passing through to the main area of the bar it felt a
little bit like sitting in a lonely corridor and missing out on more
interesting entertainment inside.
Certainly not worth the expensive 95 Baht for a draft beer. But no
doubt things will change, they'll have to.
Review Nov 2008: Location
Location Location
Expensive beers and hassle on previous visits makes for a rare review
for this bar. It also doesn't capture much interest from reviewers on
other Pattaya websites and in particular, on the forums.
But the bar was doing very well at a mid evening visit. Perhaps
comfortably half full.
There are also plenty of girls employed in the bar covering the whole
range of pretty to not. They had a naked dancing show for the prettiest
half of the staff and the stage was packed. Lots of eye candy. The
pretty girls suddenly vanished out of sight at the end of the show
though. Presumably there is an upstairs changing room and dancing area.
Nobody hassled me either which was a good job as the pretty girls
were upstairs.
I didn't stay beyond a beer, but I'll just let the number of
customers let it be a testament that the bar must be doing something
right...(Beyond being the first bar in Walking Street that is)
Review from Steve Feb 2008:
Unimpressed
I’ve been frequenting the Silver Star GoGo on Walking Street
recently, and have not been too impressed. In fact, after my last visit,
I don’t think I will ever go back there.
The drinks in this bar are over-priced. I can live with 120 Baht for a
gin & tonic, or 130 Baht for a lady tequila, but it’s the persistent
pressure from the service staff to buy then drinks that bugs me.
I can live with that, too, after all you can just say no. But then on my
last visit some nonsense started, with the mamasan telling the dancer I
was sitting with that she had to come and clean the bar instead of sit
with me between dances. Never mind the fact that the dancer was on her
third or fourth tequila on my bin! The girl told me it’s no problem,
just buy mamasan a drink and she won’t have to go clean the bar. What a
load of bollox!
The girl went back dancing, and I went to the hong nahm for a leak. When
I came back, some guy and his girl had settled themselves down in my
seat. Never mind the fact that it had two drinks on the table. Never
mind the fact that it had my bin full of receipts on it. Obviously,
after the ‘bar cleaning’ episode, this was just another way to show
their displeasure that I hadn’t bought a drink for any of the service
staff that night.
OK, I can take a hint, I checked bin and left and will not be going
back. And that’s another thing that annoys me about this place, the
bills are all poorly hand-written and it’s difficult to check the total
in the dim light.
There’s nothing wrong with the dancers in this bar, but the ‘service’
staff seems to inhabit a parallel dimension and the ‘shows’ are a waste
of time.
I met the same dancer from Silver Star in one of the more
reasonably-priced Walking Street GoGo’s. She told me that in Silver
Star, it seems, to stop the ladies leaving, they will only pay them for
the month after they have worked six weeks or more, so the lady will
always lose at least 2 weeks of pay if she changes bar.
So my advice is to avoid the place. Oh, and it’s Thai-owned, so don’t
bother complaining.
Review May 2007:
Quickly Established
The bar seems to have established itself quickly. I
visited it at peak time and it was more crowded than most Walking Street
bars at this time. And the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves.
There were about 10 attractive dancing girls on stage,
half a dozen were in a circuit that dances topless and the others were
in another rota and danced naked. There were the same number on hostess
duty whilst waiting there turn to dance
There were a couple of girls frolicking in a Jacuzzi
but past experience suggested that they can be bothersome on hassling
for tips.
The bar offers as much fun as many of the top names on
Walking Street. The only reason I don't visit more often is that the
drink prices are higher than average and that the bar allows too much
hassle for tips including a toilet jockey.

Review July 2010: Smile...Not
Smile Girls A-GoGo is a tiny bar with bench seating down ether side
of a central narrow stage. This leaves little space for the walkways
down either side of the stage.
There's usually 3 girls on stage, 2 dancing, and the other soaping
herself down in the Jacuzzi embedded in the centre of the stage. The
girls are distinctly below average but the bar at least tries to get a
couple of decent looking girls for Jacuzzi duty.
There's a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht.
Some of the girls can be quite hands on, and I've seen a few
customers enjoying the attention.
But unfortunately the overall attitude towards customers is that of
hassle. Some of the girls try to bully for tips way beyond the level
acceptable in other Walking Street GoGos. I've found it an unpleasant
bar to drink in on a couple of occasions.
Review November 2009: Play Stage
Smile Girls A-GoGo recently had a quick re-fit. They have installed a
Jacuzzi/play stage replacing part of the central dancing stage.
Perhaps even better, they have re-fitted some of the girls ensuring that
there are now a few that are pleasing on the eye.
The very small size is surely very restrictive on the bar, as there is
nowhere for a play area with ringside seating. I am sure the girls would
be up for it. They seem quite hands on friendly.
The beer is still cheap albeit a smallish glass.
Anyway a good improvement at the moment.
Review September 2009:
Friendly Enough
A very small gogo that perhaps has done well to keep going.
On my visit there were 6 dancers of which 3 were dancing at anyone
time. The dress code was topless. Of the 6, only one would have been on
most customer's barfine list.
To give them their due though, the dancers were friendly enough and a
couple of customers were enjoying themselves.
Review March 2009:
Show and a Half
The dancing girls are not really up to scratch but seem friendly
enough if you want to be take care of. However there were a couple of
attractive showgirls.
They were pretty enough to get my interest but their show seemed
never ending so I gave up the notion. I was told that the show goes on
for an hour.
Review from Pattaya Polecat,
August 2008: Spoiled Regular
A narrow little bar with a dozen dancers, a handful of whom are as
pretty and playful as any you’ll meet in Pattaya.
One lady drink gets you a lot of attention – a 100-baht note gets you
some very intimate attention, I noticed last night – and it doesn’t take
long to become a spoiled regular.
Soapy/lesbian show around midnight.
News June 2008: A Challenge
It seems a Pattaya tradition to totally re-develop a bar each time it
changes hands. Perhaps it is psychologically easier to blame the layout
of a bar for its ills rather than the bar management or policies.
Anyway the change over from Rock Girls to Smile Girls breaks the
trend and has been implemented in a somewhat minimalist (read cheapest)
way possible.
The bar is somewhat aesthetically challenged in both decor and girls.
The bar is surely not going to attract any that pop their head around
the door for a look see.
I stayed for a drink and sort of watched the 3 or 4 dancing girls,
mostly bikini clad but one girl took offer her top.
The girls were making an effort to come and say hello but I was a
little ruthless and fended them off somewhat brusquely. At least they
kept trying rather than usual assumption that if you reject the first
girl then you are not after company.
There were a couple of attractive girls in the bar but as soon I
showed the vaguest flicker of interest, the mamasang was over like
lightening to hassle to buy the girl a lady drink.
All this did was hassle me out the door.

Review December 2011: The Wallet Takes a Spanking
The bar has had a pretty low key opening with most early visitors
reporting very few girls working in the bar.
On my visit there were 6 dancers on stage on 2 waiting in the wings.
They were an attractive crew and were putting a fair amount of effort
into their dancing. The girls were nicely dressed in mostly not very
much. Thankfully no sign of coyotes here.
The small team of girls made for a pretty impossible situation. By my
observation they were dancing 75% of their time and if you offered a
lady drink, the girl would be back on stage barely before she had time
to drink it.
The bar is pretty small, with the now almost mandatory central stage
surround by a couple of tiers of comfortable bench seating. There's a
Jacuzzi feature but it wasn't being used on my visit. And as a bit of
nod to Angelwitch, the bar has an upper gallery from which the girls can
slide down poles to the stage.
However there was no sign of a show. Maybe this is something for the
future for when the bar gains momentum. After all the Bangkok branch is
known for shows. I suspect the bar may prove a little small though to
become a show venue. Maybe the small size will mean not enough customers
to share the overheads of a show.
The staff were friendly and the mamasang was particularly personable.
I don't think I'll be rushing back though. Especially with a coke
being a very expensive 130 Baht. I was a bit gob smacked being asked to
pay such a premium price when the bar was operating at such a minimal
level. I think they need an opening promotion to keep the drinks prices
down until such a times as there is a premium product to justify them.
Its always tricky for bars to start up, it it very tough to get girls
until the bar is up and running for the girls to see a good prospective
employment. But for the moment the bar offers very poor value indeed, at
least for coke drinkers.

Super Baby A-GoGo
One of the most consistent bars with one of the
prettiest line ups in Pattaya. Not really a bar for chatting to the
girls. More like pick a number and go.
Review from RickG, March 2010:
Super Excuses
I
got there about 11:30 pm, and the club was not very busy. About 10 or 11
girls on the centre stage and the shower / bath area at the back was
populated by four attractive girls, but no one seemed to notice. There
were some very cute girls on stage, some of the hottest on the street,
hardly a bad egg amongst them. A couple of 9's a bunch of 8's and the
rest better looking than the girls at an average go-go bar.
As I sat
down, I looked into the eyes of one of the hottest girls in the club, I
smiled at her. To my astonishment, she smiled back. I offered to buy her a drink, she didn't respond at
first. I repeated my request and she agreed.
I had
just established that she was a local girl from Chonburi, pale skinned
and exquisite, she had worked at SuperBaby for four months and had a 3
year old son. I was just about to enquire whether her magnificent
breasts were completely real, when she started to clutch her stomach and
say she was hungry. She indicated she had her
own food, and she disappeared to go fill up, leaving her drink almost
untouched.
She reappeared just in time to start her dance cycle on stage. I
counted the songs, .. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Ten songs! this is ridiculous! I
am not a patient man, but this girl seemed worth waiting for. She had
been on stage for over 30 mins. Finally she collected her bikini top,
and headed off stage. But she disappeared in the crowd. I was surprised
to see she was sitting with some other guys.
I called
over the mamasang, and explained the story. She spoke to her and got
some story about thinking I didn't want her to sit with me. I protested
that I was not going to pay for a lady drink for less than 5 mins of
companionship, even with a hot girl, then kept waiting for 40 mins just
to be dumped. Without a moments hesitation she pulled the second slip
from the bin and told me I didn't have to pay for the lady drink. I paid
up and made a hasty exit.
This behaviour is very unusual. There is a kind of agreement that the
girl will sit with you till she has finished her drink. To walk away
without finishing a drink is a broken promise, that gets go-go dancers
and the club a bad name.
Review from Ishi, Jan 2010: The
Show Must Go On
Super Baby and Super Girl have show time again but just for Jacuzzi
girls.
The difference between normal time and show time is just brightness
(darker for show) and music (slower for show). The dancers on the stages
no longer change their costumes.
Of course the Jacuzzi girls are naked all time, so it's impossible to
change costumes for them. And the Jacuzzi girls dance as usual.
I happened to hear that the DJ said, Show Time. so I could
tell which is which. But I was not sure so I confirmed with a service
girl: Is this show time? She said: Yes. For the Shower Girls.
Review from materialsman, July 2009:
Faded Glory
Considering this was a Friday night, albeit in a supposed low, low season, I
have to admit I have never seen Baby so devoid of customers, shocking to me
really, considering the line up of lithe limbed young ‘hotties’ that is the norm
for a Bar catering to the discerning Asian gentleman.
The line up was pretty
reasonable, but they looked fairly bored by the lack of the 4-4-4 customers on
this particular evening, and I feel that as much as I like the ‘Japanese’ look
of the ladies, being an aficionado of their style of perverted pornography, it
didn’t suit some of the girls on stage, I think that sort of curly, back combed
hair look only works if the girl has the right facial features. So again we only
had a couple of beers in the place, and frankly without the customer base they
are famed for, the place is starting to look like a bit of a ‘faded glory’ Bar
at present. Still a fairly good line up on stage though, so they are forgiven
and I will always go back there.
Review from Pattaya Secrets,
Jan 2009: Super Market?
More like a meat market than any other gogo in Pattaya. I visit at
least once per trip, but one drink is enough.
Pretty girls, many slim, but after awhile the girls start to look the
same. Dress the same, dance the same, many with light coloured hair.
The music is crap.
Seen many guys (and not only Asians) call a girl down, she has no
more than a sip of her drink before she is off to the changing room. To
each their own and good luck to them.
Review July 2007: Pretty Much the Same
I sat down and ordered a coke and the service girl kindly pointed out
that it would be 100 Baht. The service is always spot on at Super Baby
with a high ratio of servers to customers.
As always there were mostly pretty girls upon stage although a couple
were a bit tubbier than I would have expected. The girls dance a
ludicrously long dance stint, but then again, they never have customers
who are waiting for them to return.
The girls were all dancing topless with a semi transparent skirt.
When they finish their dancing they wear a bra as opposed to a lighter
bikini top. The girls dance without expression or smiles or much eye
contact. This is under instruction rather than out of unfriendliness.
'Pick a number and go' bars are not really my thing but if that is
what you prefer this bar is still number one.

Review November 2010: The Sun Never
Sets
Pretty much the same as always.
The stage is full of very good looking girls doing a very slow
rotation of about 10 songs. Mostly dancing with a vacant look and an
unsmiling face, but friendly enough if you catch their attention.
The girls tends to have overtly styled hairdos presumably as these
appeal to the Japanese customers usually forming the majority in the
bar. Note that the bar is in no way exclusive, everyone is equally
welcome.
There is also a Jacuzzi with some equally good looking girls but
they don't do much beyond soaping themselves down.
There is no interaction in this bar unless customers make a
specific request for a girl.
The drinks and girls prices in the bar have been traditionally on
the high end. But these have been held for quite a while and other
bars have caught up.
Not really a very animated bar, and there are many bars that are
a lot more fun. But if you want to partake in quietly watching girls
dance for a couple of beers while choosing a pretty girl, then there
are few better.

Review November 2009: Sudsy
Bikini
A quick look around the rapidly revealed that not much is changing in
Super Girls.
There were still plenty of good looking girls coiffed up with Japan
pleasing hair styles. They were dancing a long spell on the central
stage followed by another song on a table dancing stage..
They were all dancing topless. But perhaps a subtle change is that
the girls were smiling compare with rather blank faces that seem to have
been mandated in the bar up until this visit.
A Jacuzzi has been installed in the bar a fair few months ago and I
was fascinated by the pointlessness of this particular attraction. There
were 3 girls partaking but there was no interaction between them. They
were all simply doing an insipid dance as per the rest of the girls on
stage. One may argue that the attraction is that the girls are naked but
as far as I could see the girls were busy forming the soap suds into a
replacement bikini bottom. Nothing to see of interest there then.
But as always, the bar seemed to be doing well with a decent amount
of customers appreciating the pick 'n' go style of the bar.
Review Feb 2009: Super
Lookers
The bar is sticking with a well tried and tested policy of very good
looking girls and a pick a number and go selection method.
Maybe even the prettiest line up in town at the moment. Strange that
it doesn't really attract so many farangs as Happy and Peppermint and
several others. Well not so strange really, as perhaps the way the bar
works is more targetted towards Japanese and Korean visitors. There is
nothing exclusive about this bar though, all visitors are welcomed here.
Maybe something to bear in mind for anyone thinking that Pattaya gogos
are all members only.
Anyway there are usually about a dozen girls dancing on the central
stage with another couple at small podiums next to the main stage. The
dress code is topless with slightly see through skirts and no knickers.
There is also a Jacuzzi featuring 3 naked girls but I didn't see
anything naughty that you may come to expect from a Pattaya Jacuzzi.
Could have been down to a lack of tips though.
The music keeps the girls entranced to the point of being zombiefied
when dancing. By all accounts the girls are perfectly friendly if you
call them down from the stage. It is just the stage that is a smile free
environment. Saying that I did spot a few more smiles than I
remember from previous visits.
The drinks prices are on the high end of the scale but not our of
order.
Review June 2008: Super
Friendly
I generally avoid the Super bars as I don't really go for the vacant
unsmiling expressions and the general onus on the customers to select a
girl by number.
It is rumoured that the glum stare whist dancing is a nod to Japanese
guys preferring it that way.
Anyway I paid a rare visit to Super Girl and I caught the attention
of a happy smiling dancer who acknowledged a gesture with a big smile
back.
As soon as her dance stint was over she bounded over for a chat. She
was a bubbly girl and made for good company.
Surely out of character for the bar but I soon found out the reason
why. It was her first day there.
I promised to go back in a few days and check whether she has learnt
the zombie expression yet. I told her that it would be perfectly alright
if she decided to blank me out totally. I would put it down to a
successful induction into the Super Girl ethos.
Review from polleke, Oct 2007:
Nothing special

Review from Pattaya Secrets,
May 2007: Super Suds
The bar seems to have changed its extremely
conservative policy and bowed to pressures to move with the times. The
bar has installed a Jacuzzi and a table dancing stage.
Some of the girls who preferred the original format
have now moved across to Super Baby.
However the girls still seem pretty emotionless and do
little to circulate amongst the customers. It is sometimes good to have
a hassle free environment but it makes for rather a spiritless
environment
Review Dec 2006:
Is It Hot Or Is It Not
I reserve this gogo to visit when I am showing round older friends or
relatives who would like to see what goes on in Walking Street.
The bar seems happy to cater for customers who clearly have no
interest in barfines and the like. So it is welcoming from that view
point. Also there is nothing overly naughty going on. Just a few topless
marking time or slightly swaying to the music. There a few shows to
break the monotony. They are nude but hardly likely to shock my up
country aunts.
The girls are young and pretty but dance with dance with a vacant
stare that simply does not engage or encourage the audience.
If a customer is into whispering a number into a waitresses ear, then
surely a pretty smiling face will appear that is hot and ready to trot.
The bored looking faces seem restricted to the dance floor. The girls
seem happy enough when supping on lady drinks.
If you don't whisper a number to a waitress then it is unlikely that
the girls will bother you off their own accord.
As a seasoned campaigner I prefer a bar where the sex is a little
more in your face. But those preferring a 'pick a number and go' type
bar seem to enjoy the offerings of this bar.
Similar style to the associated Super Baby, but this bar is the much
quieter of the two.

Sweetheart's
A-GoGo
Table dancing opened 12th March 2007. The venue was

Review December 2011: Steady
I popped in for my very occasional beer and everything is about the
same as usual. Except that the drinks prices have edged up. They are
still within the very reasonable range, but are now more
psychologically expensive than major bars with prettier girls and
less clothes.
The friendly greeter made his welcome, leaving me to scan the
bar. There were plenty of girls with 6 dancing at any one time. They
were doing an excellently short dancing roster of just 3 songs. That
would be great for customers awaiting their drinking partner to
return from her dance shift.
But actually there weren't any customers that I could see sitting
with girls. Most seemed to have been attracted in by the open door
policy. Other bars just don't seem quite so welcoming to tourists
with just a passing interest in GoGos. This rather left groups of
customers, several of them ladies, chatting amongst themselves
rather than being interested in the girls.
The bar still is designed around table dancing which is not a
comfortable viewing position, too much neck craning and the likes.
Also there's no fun if the girls are all respectably clad in full
bikinis.
So as usual, I left everybody in the bar enjoying doing their own
thing and moved on. A traditional and perfectly pleasant, but
unexciting, one beer visit.
Review May 2010: Narrow
Minded
The combination of cheap prices and an 'all welcome' policy
continue to keep the bar busy.
Thereafter things seem to drift for me a little. The bikini clad
table dancing does not really hit the mark for me, and does not
offer the right opportunity to catch the eye of a dancer.
There are usually a good number of girls, especially for
the smallish size of the bar. (Thinking about narrow bars, this must
be one of the most successful in dealing with what is usually quite
a handicap of a layout). The girls are about average, but average is
not a negative term on Walking Street.
There's often a few customers enjoying a bit of 'in yer lap' fun
too.
The music is oldie farang friendly and there are plenty of
service girls on hand to keep the drinks flowing steadily.
A well sound bar then, makes me wonder why I never stay for more
than a beer. Perhaps I have a deep psychological issue with the lack
of nudity.
Review August 2009: Open Door
The bar still seems to be doing quite well in drawing in some of
the passing foot trade that would otherwise give gogos a miss.
The bar has about 20 dancers of which 8 are dancing a 4 song shift
on 4 tables. The girls are all strictly bikini clad which is related
to the open door policy of the bar. Some if the girls can be quite
hands on, perhaps beyond what one may expect from an open door bar.
The bar features very reasonable prices for more or less everything
on the menu. The dancers and the staff are quite friendly and the
owner makes a point of a personal welcome too.
Review Feb 2009: Warm Welcome
Sweethearts still seems to be doing well. The open door policy
coupled with reasonable drinks prices seems to attract a wider range
of customers than most gogos.
The owner makes an effort to welcome customers which came as
something of a shock as I am not used to being sought out. I usually
try and hide away from farangs behind a lap full of girls.
The girls are strictly bikini clad and I guess this is coupled with
the open door policy. The girls are not quite top notch but there are
plenty who I would entertain on my lap. In fact I stayed single on my
last visit. I was coveting my neighbour's hostess, she was lovely.
Of the bars without shows or naughty stuff, this is one of the more
successful. Probably down to the cheap drinks and warm welcome.
Review May 2008: Open to the
World
The bar seems to have carved out a niche that is attracting a good
crowd.
It is just a little bit more inviting than most gogos. It leaves
the front door open so that passers by can see the table dancing
within.
The open door policy probably provides a little encouragement for
inquisitive tourists who maybe a little shy to venture into the
unknown of a closed door bar.
The bar is more friendly than most to South Asian and Middle
Eastern tourists too.
The downside for the more hardened gogo addict, is that the open
door policy means that there is no nudity or naughty shows for passers
by to see (or customers for that matter)
The girls are average but that still means that there are some good
looking girls.
The music is oldie farang and the drinks prices are very
reasonable.
Good to see a bar catering for a wider audience than most. There's
plenty of room in Pattaya for a bit of variety.
Review Sep 2007:
Still One Beer
The bar has policies in place to make this a
successful GoGo. The drinks prices are competitive and the barfines
are amongst the cheapest in Pattaya's gogos. There are always managers
on hand for a chat, or to sort out problems.
As a result the bar has now built up a large team of
dancing girls of which many are attractive.
The good policies enable a good bar, but actual fun
is still down to individually how one hits it off with the girls.
Unfortunately on my visits, the girls have been a little standoffish
and so I have rarely stayed long. There is no reason why others
shouldn't be luckier.
Another recent negative is that the bar seemed to
react more cautiously than most to the worries about a police visit.
The girls were distinctly overdressed when other bars were still
taking risks.

Review September 2011: Roaring trade
Another first visit after recent renovations. And it seems to have
followed a bit of a trend that the bar is improved after renovation. I
don't suppose that the improvement is much to do with the physical
changes, but more to do with making an effort by employing more staff so
as to get more from the changes.
The bar has been cut down in size by partitioning off the back
section. Surely this makes the main section of the bar feel busier, not
to see a cavernous empty space.
Also the new Jacuzzi adds to the sights to watch. It wasn't really
dragging down any customers to sit close by, but it adds to the overall
atmosphere as there are plenty of things going on.
The bar was actually as lively as I have seen it in recent times,
with lots of girls dancing, but still lots of girls sitting with
customers and generally being quite interactive.
Long time Pattaya mamasang Jesse (looks a bit like Tina Turner) was
doing a good job ensuring that the girls were approaching customers.
All in all a lively venue which is worth a visit.
News from Ishi, July 2011: Re-opened
after Renovation
The bar re-opened on 22nd July after a month or so of renovations.
The main stage (with 4 dancers) has not changed, but the remainder of
the bar has been down sized using a curtain.
The bar counter has moved next to the entrance up from Walking
Street.
A Jacuzzi with 3 dancers has been installed close to the main stage.
Review January 2011: A Change of Stripes
The Tiger/Shark bars have often made for enjoyable visits. They
feature that rare mix of good looking AND hands on friendly girls.
However the bars have also been somewhat flawed by long dance rosters
and expensive drinks (with the gimmick of discounts hardly worth
having).
In the last couple of months the bars have seen a change of approach
which has put Tiger back on my favourites list. Drinks prices have been
reduced and are now on the cheaper half of the Pattaya scale. Lady
drinks are 120 and draft beer is 60 Baht (45 Baht in Happy Hour).
Also the bar has changed the dance rostering so that the girls dance
for a fxed amount of time (15 or 20 minutes). The girls are in 2 teams
which swap over at the ends of each shift.
I guess that these changes are related to the new sister bar at
Fahrenheit which seems to be doing very good business on these terms.
Anyway Tiger has been a good place to visit in the last few weeks
Review May 2010: Vestigial Features
Tiger still seems to be the weaker link of the three areas of the
Tiger/Shark bars.
The bar runs more or less the same as the others but somehow seems to
retain the least interactive girls of the three.
The bar has loads of table dancing stages and they are brought into
play according to the number of girls. Whenever I have been in there
have been far too many girls set to dancing with not really enough set
to work hostessing. This leaves the bar being a little less fun than
Shark, particularly the old Shark Club end.
I think that the difference is simply down to vestigial differences
from when the bars were separate entities. Shark Club was easily best
then, so people who still remember these times tend to gravitate there.
No doubt this will fade with time.
That's not to say fun isn't available in Tiger, it's just less
likely.
The girls are generally good looking and so there's no problems on
that front.
The music is strictly of the dance variety and the volume tends to be
a bit inconsistent.
The drinks prices have been pushed up to the top end and offer a
little less value than some of the bar's competitors. Same ball park
though, not a massive difference.
Review August 2009: Tiger Stirs
Tiger Lounge is in the same ownership as Shark Club A-GoGo and on
previous visits was very much the poor relation despite operating nearly
exactly the same as Shark.
The difference previously was that there were simply too many dancers
dancing and not enough left to look after the customers. On my last
visit they had recruited enough girls to provide some individual
entertainment for the customers.
And sure enough, the girls had a good hands on attitude to customer
service and indeed a good time ensured.
The dance circuit is very long though, so as per Shark Bar, when your
girl 'go dance, then it is often a cue to move on.
The draft beer prices have recently crept up 10 Baht to 85 Baht for a
decent sized glass.
Review March 2009: A Long
Safari
Tiger A-GoGo has now been extended so that the open space between the
bar and the stairs has been incorporated into the bar. It somehow makes
for neater and more enticing entrance.
No doubt it will have to change soon but the extended operation is a
disaster.
About half a dozen new table dancing positions have been created in
the new front section of the bar. The bar seemed to have just added
these new positions into the dance rotation such that the girls now have
to dance 8 songs. Way too long for the girl, and way too long for any
customer waiting for their return.
In fact 13 girls were dancing out of the 19 names on the white board.
Too much dancing and not enough taking care of the customers.
If you do try the bar it is best to sit in the back section. The
girls start their long stint in the front section and tend to congregate
there just when they are about to start on their dance marathon. Better
to watch from the back section to catch them as they are finishing their
dancing.

Review, December 2011: Good Start
ToyZ is easily the best of the recent GoGo openings. The bar has
near instantly established a lively and fun filled atmosphere with
not an agency coyote girl in sight.
The mamasang is from the original ToyZ in Covent Garden, and
reportedly has rounded up a fair few girls from the old bar.
There was plenty of interaction between the girls and the
customers and many of the girls seemed quite hands on friendly.
The bar itself is pretty much the same layout as it has been for
a long time with the square centre stage surrounded by 3 walls of
bench seating.
The Jacuzzi has been shifted out from its previously badly tucked
away location but it still has a limited viewing arc. Perhaps it
will be hands on friendly and command its own little audience of
waterside devotees.
The centre stage was filled with dancers in all stages of
undress, and definitely no coyotes. They were all putting a
reasonable effort into their dancing.
The drinks are reasonably priced too.
In fact the only downside is the on-going ToyZ policy of long
dance rosters. The current system is for a 9 song stint. Way too
long! As soon I spotted that my drinking partner would be away for
so long, my mind started to drift towards the delights of Babydolls
next door.
Actually there were always many good things about the old ToyZ,
but when the bar wasn't buzzing, and the dancers weren't quite so
enthusiastic, then the long dance rosters made the bar boring. I
hope they don't make the same mistake here. They have to bear in
mind that Babydolls is right next door and they have an excellently
brief 4 song dance sequence.
But for the moment ToyZ is lively and fun and so this is not
really so much of an issue.
News from Ishi, December 2011: First Impressions
The bar opened on 16th December 2011.
The bar looks pretty much like it did as Climax but there is now

There were 30 dancers in the bar. Of these 9 dancers were on the
stage at a time. Some were bottomless (Bar Fine: 800B) and others
were topless (Bar Fine : 600B). Thankfully there were no
coyotes.

Review January 2012: Not Quite Utopia
I visited at prime time and the bar seemed to be doing OK.
There were half a dozen girls dancing on the stage in a wide
range of dress from coyote down to very little. There were a couple
of very attractive dancers and they were making quite an effort on
the dancing front.
The layout of the bar looks a bit of challenge. The U shaped bar
gives no central place for the dancers. They use just one leg of the
'u' and it does not have enough comfortable seating. So mostly they
are expecting customers to use stools.
There were a fair few customers but there seemed to be a pretty
rapid turnover. Perhaps not enough girls to keep more than a handful
of customers amused by on the hostessing front.
The girls were being friendly enough though, and they were
approaching customers.
The bar seems a pleasant place for a drink, but is not quite
convincing enough to stay for two.
Review February 2011: New Management
Utopia A-GoGo re-opened after a short break on 26th February with
a new management team in place.
I didn't spot anything drastic changing in the layout. The main
stage is in front section of the bar where there is just a little
bench seating but mostly stools. There's more comfortable seating at
the back of the bar but it is way too far from the stage.
It takes a while for a bar to gain momentum in recruiting girls,
so not really very valid to comment in the first few days. There
were perhaps too few girls but some were attractive enough.
The dress code was bikini or semi transparent skirts like at
Super Baby with not much else underneath. Some girls danced topless.
The drinks prices follow Pattaya norms at 65 Baht for a decent
sized draft beer, 120 Baht for bottled beer, 90 Baht for soft drinks
and 120 Baht for lady drinks. There is an opening offer of 20% off
all these prices making 52 Baht for draft, 96 Baht for bottled beer
& lady drinks, 72 Baht for soft drinks.
There was a mamasang doing a good job in circulating around the
customers to check that all was well.
The bar is farang managed and seems set to progress. I would
guess the biggest challenges will be the southerly location and the
lack of comfortable seating with a view.
Review June 2010: Showing Effort
The bar seems to be trying a bit of everything to try and carve a
niche for a GoGo in the wrong end of town.
And in terms of a GoGo bar with a bit of a show it is worth a look.
There were 7 or 8 girls dancing on the main stage and a couple on tables
around the corner. They were dancing in various stages of undress and
there were a few decent looking girls on the team.
The bar also have an erotic show that is the usual taking off of
clothes song by song.
The bar wasn't succeeding in getting the girls very interactive with
the customers though. The usual too many dancing girls and a bar layout
allowing off duty girls to hide round the corner, so avoiding signals
and smiles.
Also the bar has a broader than usual range of customer
nationalities, so perhaps the show idea works better than barfines and
lady drinks approach.
News, October 2009: I Don't Go to
GoGo's to Watch Pretty Girls Dance!
The upstairs gogo has made a few alterations since it closed a few
months ago. Sensibly it has created a new flight of stairs directly up
from Walking Street. This provides a much clearer focus for the welcome
staff to usher people in.
Once inside, the entrance has shifted a bit but the bar is still
rather dissected in two the same as before. The Jacuzzi has been taken
out and the regained area has been filled with backless stools arranged
around small tables.
I opted for the couple of comfortable bench seats still remaining.
There is still bench seating along the side of the long stage at the
other side of the bar but this wasn't being used.
There were 5 very pretty girls dancing, being coaxed into quite an
energetic effort by one of the extensive management team. The girls were
dancing in bikinis or topless depending on their wishes.
The music is DJ selected and is more heavily into dance tunes than
most gogos in Pattaya.
There were another half dozen girls waiting their turn to dance but
they were hidden away around the corner.
There was no interaction between the dancers and customers.
Presumably the bar is being targeted as a watching bar with energetic
dancing as the main draw.
Me, I don't go to GoGo's to watch pretty girls dance, I go for a
little more in the way of personal interaction. But a bit of variety is
always welcome for those with different tastes.
Draft beer was 55 Baht but I am not sure whether that is the happy
hour price or for all night.

Review from Pattaya-Addicts
October 2010: Las Vegas Showgirls
What's Up has transformed into something of a cabaret show bar. Like
something from Las Vegas with prices to match.
Some will say Angelwitch still rules the standard for shows, but they
have not replaced their shows for a while and same-same tends to
get stale after a while. This is was my first time at What's Up for a
while, so I enjoyed the shows quite a bit.
The shows are choreographed with up to 8 girls but they still
remember their roots and the shows feature lots of lesbian fun.
And still the showgirls find the time to entertain customers by
sitting on their laps.
News July 2010: Out of Order
An argument over taking pictures in the bar escalated out of control
and ended up with customers being bottled by What's Up staff.
Review by Rick G of
pattaya-discover, May 2010: Gyrations
What's Up has always been a fun experience for me.
A small central
stage, with 4 girls dancing, a play area and a shower area, plus a small
exercise area where girls swing on those chains that hang from the
ceiling. It's one of What's Up's unique features. The more skilled girls
swing on these chains, in acrobatic fashion, engaging in all kinds of
gyrations, and offering every part of their curvacious bodies for
inspection and interaction. Girls are keen to interact, and constantly
make eye contact. They're perhaps a little pushy, but there's lots of
cute girls willing to interact with you, in any way you can think of.
It's still a great club, and well worth a visit.
News from Ishi, Dec 2009: What's

What's Up (Officially What's Up Play Girls) is set to
open its upstairs floor.
It will be called What's Up Imagine and will open on 15th

can't guess.
Reader review Nov 2009: Jacuzzi
Tips
The performance at the Jacuzzi is quite interactive and enjoyable.
Although there is a girl, the pretty one who she thinks is the queen of
the town and she is a bit rude.
They don’t ask for a drink at the Jacuzzi, but a tip is very welcome. A
20 Baht note is enough, although you will need more than one tip if you
continue.
The performance at the stage didn’t interest me at all, just the
Jacuzzi.
Beer Singha costs 115 Baht, a little expensive.
News May 2009: What's Up
The bar is expanding into the upper floors (last used as Fantasia
Bar). The first floor will be an expansion to the gogo complete with
Jacuzzis and the second floor will be short time rooms
Review April 2009: Bar Owner's
Dream
What's Up must be every bar owner's dream. The bar charges top dollar
for more or less everything and at the same time is more less packed
out.
Over recent years the put some good sexy policies in place with their
Jacuzzi and mattress play areas. They also had the idea of getting the
showgirls to go clambering amongst the customers in the nearby seats.
All good stuff but for me the bar has simply got too expensive. The
beer has gone up from the 60 Baht draft level to no draft and 125 Baht
bottles. And the bar fines seem to be more or less set at the top end of
unreasonable and can be doubled should a temporary opportunity arise.
Whilst I appreciate the entertainment talent of the show girls, I am
not sure what the rest of the audience are enjoying. The girls on the
main dancing stage seem somewhat demurely dressed and most of them seem
to sit by the door rather than go out mingling.
On my last visit I had a beer and a brief chat with a showgirl I
know. As a gesture to the inflated drinks prices I offered the odd 20
Baht note change to my friend rather than leave it on the tray. Another
girl spotted the tip and made a surly remark about it being 20 rather
than 100. Just about sums up What's Up.

Review February 2011: Popular...
Whenever I have popped by Windmill over the last couple of months it
has been pretty well packed out. There was a time earlier in the year
when things weren't looking quite up to scratch, but then the managerial
boot was forcibly applied and now the bar is back to peak popularity.
There seem to be three routes to being a popular GoGo in Pattaya. The
first is to employ the prettiest girls in Pattaya. Never fails to
attract hoards of customers. Another route is to provide a good quality,
professionally produced, sexy show. The third is to get hands on girls
to jump onto customers' laps. And Windmill is one of the best examples
of the third way.
The bar has dancers on a central stage, a few on tables in front of
the audience, and there are also 3 naughty show areas. This is where
bananas and other props play an integral part in the sexy shows that
abound there.
The Windmill girls are very proactive in seeking out partners for an
intimate chat featuring plenty of body language. And this goes down very
well with customers indeed. And for services beyond the call of duty,
lady drinks and tips are most definitely required.
Seeing so many customers, and so many lady drinks, makes me wonder
why a few more bars don't follow suit. There's only one and a half
others that partake in the same idea, Baby Dolls + a show table in
X-Zone. Probably it is down to being difficult to get the obliging girls
necessary for the concept to work.
And work it does. I am just waiting for high season to dampen
down a bit. Perhaps then I can find a space to squeeze into, and hence
to enjoy the happy benches of Windmill.
Review February 2011: Still
Good...But...
There seems to be a bit of a consensus of commentators on the Pattaya
forums that Windmill has declined a little. And I tend to concur.
Nothing major has changed to the format of the bar. It is still a
very hands-on bar with very obliging girls. It is still very popular and
there are plenty of girls there.
But the probability of having a good time seems to have dropped from
the near 100% chance a year ago.
Perhaps there are a few clues, but I don't know if anything major has
changed in the bar's organisation. A few months ago a fair girls I knew
shipped across to Baby Dolls so perhaps a little decline at that point.
Since then I have noted a slightly hard edge to the bar. One girl turned
out to be a tequila monster demanding another almost as soon as she had
downed the first. Another time I got shifted out of a show side seat in
favour of apparently more deserving customers. And also it now seems a
bar policy that girls rapidly down their drinks just as they 'go dance'
to ensure that they are not obligated to return after the dance. this
Allows the girls to change customer if they see someone better. Nothing
much really to worry about much but it tends to add up.
But saying that Windmill is still naughtier fun than most bars in
town.
Review July 2010: Likely Fun
Windmill gets the Thai-Anxiety award for the bar where it is most
likely that an agreeable girl will jump on my lap and make the visit a
success.
Down mainly to the dedicated entertainment committee of the girls and
the management, but perhaps the small size of the bar assists too. The
bar simply can't squeeze in too many customers for the amount of girls
available, which is quite a lot anyway.
So the girls make for great hands on hostesses, there's naughty
shows in the Jacuzzi and on play mat stages. The drinks prices are good
and the happy hour is very cheap with 45 Baht drinks.
But really its that nearly 100% likelihood of fun that makes Windmill
one of Pattaya's outstanding gogos.
News from Ichi, May 2010: Reds Away
The bars recent dalliance with red knickers seems to have come to an
end and the bar is back to its au naturel norms.
Review from RickG, March 2010:
Super Fun
I stepped inside, and felt like I was intruding on someone else's
orgy. Windmill re-defined raunchy and interactive some years ago, and
most other clubs have been trying to catch up ever since. Well tonight
Windmill was clearly way out in front again. This was friendly, raunchy
and interactive like you have never seen before. Girls were running
around in various stages of undress offering various parts of their
anatomy to anyone who was in the mood to interact. And tonight everyone
was interacting. For most of the time I was there, there were only a few
girls on stage. Meanwhile, there were more than 20 girls creating their
own kind of fun with guys in various parts of the club. At one point
some of the hostesses stripped off and got up on stage to make up the
numbers. By the way, the dance cycle at Windmill is only 4 songs.
Windmill doesn't have the hottest girls on the street, but it does
have the friendliest, most fun girls you will find just about anywhere.
At most other clubs, girls will introduce themselves by holding out
their hand. At Windmill, the girls will approach you, pull aside their
bra and offer one or both breasts for you to fondle, or else will
approach butt first, skirt raised to engage in some rhythmic gyration.
At around 2 am, several western couples wandered in, and sat down.
After a few minutes in Windmill, even the stern looking elderly matrons
were smiling from ear to ear. Once inside Windmill, all this debauchery
seems like the most natural thing in the world. If you're feeling
inhibited or a little stressed step inside Windmill for an instant cure!
Windmill has draught beer at Bt 75. The best value for money in town,
considering the entertainment! Lady drinks are Bt 120.
Reader review Nov 2009:
Interacting
It's the bar I like the most for the moment.
It's worth having a draft beer (75 Baht) and watching the performance at
the stages. They are quite interactive and enjoyable.
I hate the bars where girls just dance trying to be sexy (sometimes they
don’t succeed). In this bar, I even don’t need to bother looking at the
dancers, the girls interacting with the customers is all that is needed.
The performance at the Jacuzzi was a little poor; they were just having
a shower, nothing hot.
A tip or a lady drink is required when the girls are 'interacting'.

News November 2011: Tawdry Things
X-Zone with its new bosses and modifications is now doing well.
Two new mamasans in there: One whose made the full lap and returned
to Covent Garden after getting her start as on one of the original
Club Boesche mamas, and the other a 5-year veteran at Heaven Above.
Unfortunately, she brought none of the beauties from Heaven Above
to X-Zone. A mama who comes without a herd of girls is pretty
useless to a new employer, me thinks, but apparently she had some
falling out with the boys (or one of their wives) at Heaven.
Would have been nice to have some of those angels in X-Zone, but
those princesses would never stoop to doing the tawdry things the
X-girls have to do.
News September 2011: Re-opened
The bar has closed and is up for some changes. Mama Mikki and her
girls have moved to Windmill. The intention seems to be to
preserve the existing attractions but personalities clashed. The bar
re-opened after a few days.
Review March 2011: Same Same
X-Zone is still a very large GoGo but the only worthwhile entertainment is
at the bar's naughty table.
The rest of the girls seem to be on permanent dancing duty, as if just
to provide an attractive backdrop for the main show.
Review July 2010: One Table Show
X-Zone is a very large GoGo but the only worthwhile entertainment is
at the bar's naughty table.
It is often noted by Pattaya commentators as the naughtiest naughty
table in town. Two girls at a time offer hands on/hands in entertainment
to the guys who sit at the table. The show tends to dominate proceedings
for the rest of the bar too. A well popular attraction.
The rest of the bar is a little disappointing. Too many girls are set
dancing and there are few left over to take care of customers.
The bar is often halved in size by curtaining off a portion and there
are still too many dance stages to fill for the number of girls
available. On occasion there are plenty of girls but then the bar opens
up the curtained off area and there are again not enough girls left over
after filling all the extra dance positions.
Still I guess this matters little to the customers who mainly
come for the naughty table.
Review February 2010: Lucky Dip
X-Zone is a fairly popular bar that caters for those that like a
bit of hands on fun.
It is also a very large gogo that maybe requires a few too many girls
dancing just to fill the stages and make it seem lively and atmospheric.
The net result is that I have often stopped by and there have not
been enough girls to go round. So now I pause at the door and survey the
bar. I just check that there are a few girls available for customer
care.
Assuming that this is the case then the bar is good fun. There is
always a naughty table on the go with a few toys to play with. Otherwise
the table dancers are generally a fun loving crew with a fair few that
are well attractive.
The serving girls can be fun too.
Review May 2009: Draft Beer
The bar has always been on my occasional visit list mostly due to
having expensive beer. Previously the cheapest option was a 125 Baht
bottle but now they have recently added a 70 Baht draft.
Interesting that none of the welcome placards tell of a draft beer
option. If I don't see the option of a cheap beer on the welcome signs
them I assume the bar is expensive. Surely worth writing the option on
the signs lest there are others who make the same assumption.
The bar was doing fine with a fair few customers dotted around but
there was still lots of room for more.
The girls were friendly and fun so I will have to drop by at a time
more conducive to a longer stay.

Notes |
Festivities bar fine. Many, if not, gogos charge higher
barfines on what they consider special days. Every bar has a
different definition of which days are special though. And
some special days are even more special (expensive) than
others.
The reviews are those that I come across on
the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own
visits. Reviewers may be unreasonably harsh and bar owners
may present a rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at
face value...go and see for yourself.
Nudity
cannot be guaranteed and whenever the Pattay police are on the prowl the
girls cover up. Closing times are sporadic depending upon local
enforcement. 2am or 3am is now the norm.
Anyone with Middle Eastern or South Asian dark skin
should be aware that they may receive a rather negative welcome. 90% of
gogo bars have unspecified entry restrictions which can be hard to tie
down as different people have had different receptions. Unwelcome faces will be told at
the door that the bar is suddenly a members only club. Discriminatory
maybe, but it is for real, it is based on experience, and it is
supported by those who care about the welfare of the girls.
Just a couple of times people have had
a bad experience in a bar which is perhaps the fault of an individual
employee rather than bar policy. More often then not, the bar would be
more than happy to deal with offsite problems even when it is not
strictly their problem. To try and be fair to the bars, offsite
complaints about employees can only be considered for inclusion if they
have first been presented to the bar involved.
