There are many traditional Thai massage shops. These are generally not sex related massages at all, though some may extend their services to a little hand relief. (Somebody on a forum said that 300 Baht will secure hand relief from practically every masseuse in Pattaya, however if you don't ask you don't get)

More adventurous massage parlours seem to advertise their wares with the term 'body massage'. Perhaps they are better known by their customers as 'soapy massages'. The basic idea is that you get a body massage lubricated with lots of soapy water followed by a bout on the bed.

The following reviews are those that I come across on the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own visits. All contributors have a right to their opinions and will be posted even if in disagreement with my views. And of course parlour owners may present a rosy picture of their shops...so don't take everything at face value.

Heaven Entertainment Complex is one of the major establishments with a large selection of young women and often caters for the visiting Koreans, Chinese and Japanese as well as the regular Thais.

The prices vary depending upon the young lady but are from 1500 to 2000 baht in general. The rooms are comfortable and there are bars and massage in the complex as well as games. The area can get very busy, as can the girls.

Generally popular with Asian customers rather than farangs.

The women are split into two classes, but sit together (not separated as the “models” sometimes are elsewhere.) One group, with red badges are the “regular” girls and those with blue badges are the “young and new” girls, according to the papasans. Both groups have a lot of lookers, but the blue badges are all in their teens and very early 20s.

Red badge girls are 2,000 baht all-inclusive and blue badgers are 2,500 baht, both for 90 minutes.

My two visits to P.P. came just before 10 p.m. and around midnight, both on weekdays. The fishbowl was still surprisingly well stocked. But I was also surprised at the number of bigger (and not as in tall) girls. With ample bosoms, a friend and a papasan both agreed they made for good masseuses. But I’m also guessing the Indian clientele wants some girls with meat on their bones.

There are no tables to pull a girl out to chat with and no sideliners. But you can hang out on the sofa and take in the view with a drink. Beer and Coke are all under 100 baht and there’s no drama if you decide to simply up and leave, which a friend and I did on our first visit.

If you’re looking for more attractive women than you’d find in the common farang-oriented soapies and care much about the flashiness of the facilities, P.P. massage might be a hidden pleasure worth discovering.

Came early afternoon, almost no other customers and 20+ ladies.

Took a drink (60 Bt) and wanted to talk to a lady first at a table (I've seen guys sitting with girls in Sabailand before).

The employee said it wasn't possible and I had to decide only from what I see, which seemed a bit risky to me but I didn't want to waste my trip there. The price of 2000 Baht was the highest I've seen. On the good side, many ladies kept smiling and waving.

Finally went upstairs with my choice. She turned out a bit heavier than looked when seated but very pretty face. The room had no toilet attached, had to go to the end of corridor (didn't expect it for that price). As I was heading for the toilet, an employee asked about a lady drink. I didn't say yes but when I came back, he brought the drink nevertheless and wanted me to pay. When he brought back the change, he asked for tips in quite pushy way, which I found too much and didn't give any. I told the girl I rather give it to her and she was quite happy. The best thing - she was in a good mood and even complained about her boyfriend hitting her. What came after was great, no complaints. I tipped her 200 Bt and she asked nicely for 100 Bt more, of course I didn't mind.

The fishbowl is in a corner so if you sit at the back of the bar you cant see, and the front of the bar is full of Japanese or Koreans. You need to do a bit of manouvering to get a good view to make your selection.

The girls are certainly top notch and in my opinion the rooms are far superior than either of the 3 Sabais. It is more a massage place with full service rather than a soapy. Cant remember the prices, but no more expensive than the Sabais. If you are in Walking Street it is a good alternative to trekking uptown, give it a go its well worth it.

At first glance many of the massage parlours may seem less than ideal for wheelchair access with steps outside and upstairs rooms etc. However this should not be considered as a big problem as the parlours are in the business of catering to peoples needs.

Each of the larger parlours has Mama/Papa-san who is effectively an organiser to make sure that there are people on hand to assist customers. He will also be able to tell you which girls are will be most able to ensure a happy visit.

I'm not a great fan of body massages but thought I'd check this place out when I was in the area. I wish I hadn't.

It's more expensive than the big Pattaya soapies, with fewer and lower quality ladies, worse rooms and bad service. This isn't a place for rich Thais. Bang Saen is the Thai equivalent of Blackpool, full of Thais who can't afford to get to a proper beach resort. I guess Galaxy is a place for Thais who can't afford the Bangkok soapies.

There's no fishbowl, just a row of about 20 seats for the ladies. There were between 3 and 10 girls sitting down at any one time. This compares to up to 100 girls in the big Sabai places in Pattaya. There must have been about 20 Thai guys inside and the good looking ladies were gone as soon as they'd sat down.

I saw a girl I liked and the papasan assured me she had no babies and no tattoos. I paid my 1900 baht but once we got into the room and she undressed I saw a massive tattoo on her back, one on her shoulder and one on her saggy breast. She had a flabby, stretch-marked belly and udder-like breasts which were a total turn off. I was thinking of taking her back and complaining to the papasan but we were already in the bath and if he scammed me before I didn't fancy my chances of a refund.

So I went ahead with it but there was no soapie or jacuzzi, just a bath, a totally lame massage on the bed then I got the rest over as quickly as possible.

The room was freezing cold as they have industrial aircon in them that can't be adjusted or even turned off. It was so cold both I and the girl wanted to leave after 40 minutes were up (I'd paid for 90) so that was it.

You can get a better short time in soi 6 for half the price. If you want a decent soapie check out Sabai Dee for 1600 baht. Stay away from this place.

I personally think that this is the best place to go, much better than Sabailand and all the Pattaya places, the girls have no attitude and are pretty good looking.

The place opens at about 12.30 pm every day, weekdays there's not many girls until around 1.30-2.00 though.

The price is 1700 for the left side (these are the ones that may have had kids or might not be that attractive), for the right hand side (the counter) its 1900.

In general the 1900 girls are smart looking, a bit Thai style I.e. white skin, slim and narak (cute)....but there are a few big titties if you like that sort of thing.

  Review 2005: A Cut Above

Galaxy Entertainment Complex in Bang Saen is a cut above the Pattaya soapies and I've not heard a bad report from anyone who's been there. The ideal time to hit it is after a game of golf at one of the Bang Saen/Sri Racha courses around 4:00 p.m., Mon to Thu (it gets a lot of Bangkok customers Thu-Sun).

As well as the fishbowl you have sideliners, "no-bra" girls, nightclub, karaoke lounges, restaurant, lounge etc. Cost of a sideliner last year was 1,700 Baht for 2 hours in a standard room .... add on an extra 200 Baht if you are in a group and want to share a party room with 4 bedrooms leading off. The mamasan is a great lady, speaks excellent English and has none of the pushy tactics sometimes found in the main Pattaya soapies.

It is very much a Thai orientated place so it helps if you have someone along with you who knows the score on how it all works. There are many places out of Pattaya & Bangkok which are not known to tourist farangs. These area are meant for Thai rich people. There you will get a real good stuff. Galaxy Bang Sean is one of them.

Lowest prices I got were 300-600-1000. All in all anything else than a cheap option, since for 1600 Baht one can also get a full soapie experience and without the annoying bargaining.

Luna Massage seems to be pitching itself as a high quality massage shop with a standard massage menu about 100 Baht higher than typical Pattaya massage shops.

For the extra the rooms are very well appointed and very clean and neat. There are private rooms as wells as the traditional curtained off cubicles, and of course shared foot massage space.

The girls are also above average with reports of a couple of cuties and also some good massage skills. The selection process is via a book of available girls rather than in person.

Extras are available but it us very much up to the girl. This includes both services and prices. The reviews so far suggest a range from average to top end gogo girl prices. Also extras are negotiated towards the end of the session, and with such a range of availability/price then this is sure to wind up customers who prefer fair play pricing.

It is probably set to  get mixed reviews, along the lines of Dream Teen, depending on how customers react to very variable outcomes on offer. Some will enjoy and some won't.

About halfway through a very attractive girl with an amaz9ing smile even by Thai standards came down with her client and I watched as they sat outside for a bit. Two more girls came down stairs before I was finished with my massage. After paying, I was offered water, tea of coffee. I took a coffee and sat down next to the girl outside - Ooy. I made a joke that they should deliver to the hotel, and she said that it was no extra cost for massage in your room in buildings on this block. I setup an appoint for her for the next night at 10pm for two hour oil. As they close at midnight, I was hoping I could turn this into a long time. We sat and talked for a bit, she seemed to understand the US version of English better than most.

As I left I notuiced the website address on the door: samaimassage.com - I guess Serenity.com was taken - and checked it out back at the hotel. The page only shows two massage girls, neither of which I saw while I was there. Om was listed as cashier.

Ooy showed up exactly on time - a first in Thailand I think - and proceeded to give me an excellent oil massage. I was unable to coax - or buy - her into a long time as she explained her boyfriend was in town. No happy ending seemed forthcoming either, but I am not skilled at asking for this if it is not hinted at or expressly offered.

All in all though I was very happy with my treatment both within and without the establishment. No happy ending, but plenty of places everywhere else for that. I enjoyed my massage and joking with the girls. I look forward to partonizing them again when I return in April.

I had a 2 hour oil massage for 400 Baht. I must say not bad at all but had some better ones. The girl I had was great fun though. She had an offer for 330 Baht for HJ, 400 for BJ and more.  Had a very pleasant stay for 2 hours.

There are a number of massage salons at soi honey inn and some of the girls can get a bit aggressive to pull you in. Just smile and give her a hug and say you pop in later. No problem.

Just 200 meters from the beach, blind men and women provide excellent, professional massage at a low price. While enjoying their massage, customers will also be helping the blind masseurs/ses and their families. Customers are also invited to enjoy free coffee or tea in the institute’s “cozy corner”.

The Thai Blind Massage Institute has three air-conditioned rooms and one big fan room. Privacy is secured by beautiful, hand-woven cotton curtains, made by handicapped women. The buttons are “home made” out of coconut shells.

The blind have all received thorough training in the North of Thailand (Chiang Mai) and all have certificates showing they have successfully completed at least 300 hours of training. Many also have years of professional experience.

This place deserves your support. All the masseurs are blind and this enterprise gives them a chance to earn a living and some self respect.

When you go in, you pay for whichever massage you fancy and enter a large room with mattresses. A sighted person brings the masseur to you and off they go. This place does not have "extras" but after an hour you can leave feeling refreshed and with the knowledge that for once on your trip your baht has done some good for a change. So come on guys get your legs down there and give some help to some of those less fortunate than us.

I spent an hour this afternoon having my massage and it is still 120 Baht (+tip) which is pretty cheap even for pattaya. I actually paid the more massive sum of 140 Baht (+tip)to have it done in the "air-con " room rather than the cheaper fan option. An absolute bargain.
