A Pattaya discotheque has been ordered to close for 10 days after a Thai woman fellated a South Korean man in full view of other customers early Monday morning. Pictures of the act were quickly circulated on Facebook and other online social
Police, soldiers and local officials inspected 808 First Class Clubbing on Walking Street in Pattaya, after hearing of the incident.
One offcial said the night club had responded appropriately, and a security guard had asked the pair to leave the premises immediately.
Police claimed the incident had tarnished the image of Pattaya, and they were tracking down the two people involved, who were likely to face charges of public indecency. Of course in reality the incident has reinforced the fun filled image of
Bang Lamung district authorities ordered the closure of 808 First Class Clubbing for 10 days. District chief Chakorn said he had also ordered legal action against the discotheque for violating the Entertainment Places Act.
Pol Col Sukthat Pumpunmuang, chief of Pattaya tourist police said he believed the woman might be a sex worker.
A new coyote bar is getting ready on Soi LK Metro at the venue that was previously Funhouse A-GoGo at the corner with Soi Buakhao.
The same venue once was quite a hit as a coyote bar named Club BLU but it ultimately failed as interest waned.
Coyote bars do not have a good track record in Pattaya as there is a clearly a sizeable amount of bar goers who prefer less clothes in a GoGo. Perhaps it would have been better to follow the well worn route of advertising as a GoGo, and then only
having coyotes. At least it gets the refuseniks in for at least one look.
Anyway the bar is set to open on 9th July with a promise of food and special prices until the 11th July.
Gentlemen's Club on Soi Diamond has indeed reopened.
At first sight the interior has remained unchanged.
A quota of 80% coyotes seems to be becoming a bad habit at re-openings of second-rate and third-rate gogos.
There was a team of 6 or 7 dancers in black string bikinis, who towards the end of their dance stint took of their tops. Several of them were wearing black transparent camisoles; only one could be considered as above average.
There were also two teams of about 12 sub average coyotes clad in white. Most of them were wearing double and triple tops and bottoms. Some very huge tops, some white camisoles and even some white T-shirts.
There were two or three other customers, but when I left I appeared to be the last one.
Bottled Heineken 150 baht, Corona 200 baht, lady drinks 140 baht, model showgirl drinks 180 baht.
Update: News from Soi Diamond
On the door next to The Windmill Club A-GoGo, where the stairs to Tramps A-GoGo used to be, is a big sign in Thai language.
When I was dining across the soi at Swiss Food, one of my favourite restaurants, I saw a couple leaving The Windmill Club and entering that door next to it. I am wondering now if there are ST rooms at the previous location of Tramps or if there
are plans to revive Tramps as a gogo.
Swiss House restaurant on Soi Diamond (not to be confused with Swiss Food on the same soi) has been closed since the beginning of June 2015 and the furniture has disappeared. At the window is a sign now FOR RENT/SALE .
On Soi Diamond, at the previous location of Dream Club A-GoGo and Carousel A-GoGo, Maxine's Club A-GoGo has opened.
The interior has remained unchanged, apart from a complex chrome pole structure on the square stage.
The lighting was fine, but the music was a disaster.
There were many "girls", but the average quality was very poor, even compared to other recent openings. There are just way to many "gogos" in Pattaya en by far not enough "talent" to fill them.
More than 80 % of the dancers at Maxine's Club A-GoGo were "coyotes", some of them with a transparent camisole over their outfit. I also saw some dancers in bikinis with transparent négligés and transparent camisoles.
The dancers went on stage in teams of eight to ten.
I was told that the bikini dancers would drop their tops on stage, but when a third team of coyotes went on stage I could not be arsed to stay any longer.
Barfine was 1,000 baht with even the ugliest "girls" expecting 2,000 baht ST and 3,000 baht LT.
Among the waitresses were some tomboys; also some male waiters. There were lots of staff, but hardly some customers and they did not stay long.
BEWARE: lady drinks 200 baht.
BEWARE: automatic tipping, small change is not returned.
Usually I tip, but I hate it when they take it for granted: it should be MY decision, not THEIRS.
Bottled Heineken 145 baht, no (promotion for) draught beer.
Correction: Note that a previous version of the review suggested that the bar was associated with Sweethearts A-GoGo. This is not the case, there is no such connection.
Las Vegas, Dream Club, Living Dolls One and Malibu
4th June 2015
Thanks to Dick Farang
In Pattaya it is extremely quiet now.
At least half of the people on Walking Street now are flocks strolling behind a guide with a flag.
Not many traditional punters if you ask me.
Living Dolls 1 A-GoGo on Walking Street opposite Happy A-GoGo has closed and it looks as if the builders are in.
Believe it or not, I have been told that Dream Club A-GoGo on Soi Diamond will reopen on Monday 8th June 2015.
The rumour has resurfaced that Champagne A-GoGo and Club Malibu on Soi LK Metro are going to become one mega gogo.
Las Vegas II GoGo on Soi Yamato (Soi 13/1) has reopened.
I was told that they have been closed during one week for refurbishments, but I noticed not the slightest change.
In the toilets was still a sign for sale (in English) with a telephone number. On the floor of the toilets was an empty Cialis blister, but this is Pattaya.
At my visit there were about ten girls for three customers and two of them were on stage at any time.
A skinny one with horrible stretch marks was fully naked and an old balding one was topless in a transparent white skirt without pants. All the other ones were overdressed in white bikinis, some of them with black underwear. To say the truth, all
girls were at least below average.
As usual there was no mamasan to be seen, which, by me, is not necessarily a bad thing.
Bottled Heineken is still 110 baht and they still offer a stapled lottery ticket with every drink.
The Las Vegas News counteracts the temporary closure of New Living Dolls so the GoGo count stays at 77.
Spicy Girls A-GoGo has gone dark at the Walking Street venue above Champion A-GoGo. The bar has been trying its luck at the upstairs venue since September 2014, but it is a tough location and the GoGo now looks to be closed.
Welkom Inn was a hotel with an afternoon bar in the grounds on Pattaya Soi 3.
It has now been closed and the demolition gang are at work.
The bar is a long running afternoon bar that set the scene for the modern gentlemen's clubs.
The bar was also referred to as the Belgian Embassy.
Comment: One of the most pleasant in Pattaya
11th May 2015. Thanks to DavidT
The closure of the Welkom Inn on Soi 3 (car park access from Soi 2) is a shock to all it's customers. I rated it as one of the most pleasant in Pattaya.
There was a time when Pat's Pies had a restaurant almost opposite. You could order your takeaways and then spend a very relaxing time in the bar not to mention the swimming pool.
A couple of beers in the garden bar and then a short time (room 150 Baht) The staff were all experts and not expensive. I made some good friends (Nok, Dow, etc.) There were times I was so weak-kneed after the treatment, I had to get the girl to
collect my takeaways.
Club Electric Blue will return to Pattaya and take over from Private Dancer on 1st May 2015.
Several years ago Electric Blue had 2 venues in Pattaya. The First and largest venue was at the venue best known in recent times as Roxy. There was also a small venue in Soi Diamond known as Electric Blue Junior.
And there was plenty of fun to be had in both GoGos, with a style that was the forerunner of Windmill and Babydolls.
Welcome back to Pattaya, Electric Blue.
Update: Closed and re-opening
24th April 2015.
Private Dance has now closed and Ricky has said his goodbyes.
The bar will re-open as Club Electric Blue on 1st May 2015.
Club Electric Blue opened on 2nd May as promised although first day reviewers reported that it is more coyote than GoGo.
Upstairs A-GoGo towrads the south end of Walking Street has introduced the cheapest beer in any of Pattaya's GoGos. Happy Hour draft is now 39 Baht. The bar runs 2 happy hours, from 8pm - 10pm and 2am - 3am.
The newly re-opened Super Girl on Soi Diamond has introduced a second Happy Hour from 1am to 2:30am. Draft beer is then 59 Baht, the same in both Happy Hours. There will be an Opening Party on 2nd May.
Club Electric Blue in Bangkok also has cheap drinks with draught beer at 45B all time (started from February). This is the cheapest drink in Bangkok GoGos. It will be interesting to see if the drinks price policy in Pattaya. The bar on Soi 15 is
having an opening party on 1st May.
Hi! Boss, the long running ladyboy bar at the centre of Soi 6 is now up for sale. It has been diverting the beachward pedestrian stream from the left to the right side of the soi for as long as I can remember.
Meanwhile Soi 6 Corner Bar at the 2nd Rd end of the soi has now been totally demolished. it is now just an empty plot of land.
After the Songkran madness some news from the Dark Side.
Nothing has improved since my previous visits to Fabrice Bar on the corner of Soi Banlang (aka Soi Siam Country Club Soi 18 and Soi Phon Prapha Nimit Soi 18) and Soi Banlang Soi 12.
The swimming pool was deserted and inside the lounge were a huge, dark cashier and three girls, two fat ones and one half-decent one.
The latter one was 28 years old, did smoke cigarettes, but did not want to smoke big cigar , was not overly enthusiastic and expected 1,500 baht for ST boom-boom .
Fabrice Bar also has a pizzeria to the right of the building. If you want you can order some grub from there and consume it in the darkness of the lounge. On Tuesdays they seem to have a buffet at 100 baht.
ST room ( no barfine ) 250 baht.
Bottled Heineken 80 baht.
At the previous location of Bamboo Bar on Soi Khao Noi Angels Place has opened.
It has become more a kind of a bikers' place. The gate has been moved making it virtually impossible to enter with a car. Anyway, there are enough parking opportunities on the road.
In the open-air bar the sofas near the street have been replaced with high tables and bar stools and everything still smelled the fresh paint.
There were a cashier who was not available and a fatty and two oldies who used to work at Bamboo Bar before. At the rear of the complex is still a (mostly empty) beer garden.
Barfine (room included) still 300 baht.
Bottled Heineken 80 baht from 70 baht before.
The previous owner of Stars Bar on Soi Kao Talo has returned to England.
It is now owned by Nok, a 40-year-old single mom from Korat, who has been a farmer and a supervisor in a factory and said she herself also liked boomboom.
She has thrown out the pool table that occupied most of the bar area.
There were two 20-year-old girls, a very fat one who said she wanted to take it up the arse and a shy skinnier one. Nok said she wanted to import more talent from her village in Korat and she even mused on changing the bar's name into Korat Bar.
The oldest of her three daughters is 20 years old and works factory , does not want to work bar .
They still have rooms on site.
I jokingly told Nok she should pay me 2,000 baht, so that I could spend 1,000 baht on each of the girls.
Barfine ST 300 baht. I had to convince Nok not to charge 200 baht extra for the room.
Bottled Heineken 70 baht from 65 baht before.
Mermaid Bar Beer
Last year Mermaid Bar Beer opened in a double shophouse on Soi Khao Noi, left of Mango Pub. I think it is French or Walloon owned.
In the front section there is still a piece of wall that separates most of the two units. Just behind the sliding windows on both sides is a pool table. In the rather dark right-hand section are some sofas that seem to function as a smoking
corner . In the brighter left-hand section are a bar with bar stools, some high tables also with bar stools and mirrors on the back wall.
A 23-year-old average girl, Da, followed me inside, had been working there for two weeks, spoke very little English, did not sound overly enthusiastic about smoking and wanted 2,000 baht ST; she did not want to budge to less than 1,500
baht ST. Another 23-year-old girl who had started the same day looked sweet enough, but did not speak a single word of English. A 39-year-old threeholer was interested, but she was on duty as a cashier that day and could not go upstairs.
Mermaid Bar Beer is one of the places on the Dark Side where I never have got satisfaction up to now, whereas at some other places, such as Butterfly Bar and White Oyster Bar, it has always been bingo .
Notices have appeared on the seaward side of a fair few buildings on Walking Street. It seems that these are demolition orders and are related to buildings modified without council permission. The notices were seen at SkyFall, Eclipse, Infinity,
iBar, and the bar below The Pier, but have now been taken down.
Recently officers of the engineering division of Pattaya had brought an order to stop any construction of any new buildings and also to demolish those that were built without permission.
The order was on behalf of Mr.Ronnakit Aeksasing-deputy mayor of Pattaya- and 6 buildings had broken the law and had been constructed or extended without permission.
The buildings located in Walking Street South Pattaya have been ordered to be dismantled in order for the land to be recovered and renovated .
However, the conclusion from parliament is still unclear about what's going to happen because the operators had the right deeds; therefore, the officers just ordered them not to extend their buildings. The officers found out that 12 operators
had broken the rule and had extended their buildings so they were ordered to demolish them.
In the early hours of Monday a 55 year old Polish man was beaten up by two bouncers at Skyfall A-GoGo, which is now facing the possibility of receiving a temporary closure order of at-least 30 days.
The incident occurred at the newly-opened Skyfall Go-Go Bar located at the Beach Road end of Walking Street and was reported to Tourist Police by Rafal Jakowicki who was treated by medics for a deep laceration to his forehead. Jakowicki was
reportedly struck across the head with a steel hook by Khun Panu.
Tourist Police Officers detained the two bouncers alleged to be involved and they were taken to Pattaya Police Station, where one of them was charged with assault.
On Monday Night the Tourist Police conducted a raid of Skyfall and conducted ID card checks and some staff members were urine tested but no evidence of drug-taking was found. License checks were made and no irregularities were found.
In previous cases similar to this one bars have been given closure orders of at least 30 days and a report of this incident has been sent to the Licensing Unit at the Banglamung District Office.
The bars was closed after the police raid for the remainder of Monday night.
Super Girl re-opened on 1st April. They call it's pre-open and the grand opening day will be after Songkran. They have no connections with Super Baby so the format has been changed.
I visited at 11:30pm. The new management has removed 2 table stages and the runway of the center stage.
I counted 27 dancers organised in 3 teams on mamasan's board. Each team dances for 20 minutes.
Dancers are bottomless, topless (models) and bikini in whites. I didn't see any coyotes. I heard it's possible to take away all girls including models and PR outside. Bar Fines for ST are 700B (some are 800B), But it's impossible to take away for
LT before midnight.
Draught Beer is 59B in Happy Hour (from 8pm to 9:30pm), 79B after 9:30pm. Bottled Heineken is 140B. Lady Drink is 150B.
So there are now 83 bars around Pattaya with Thai girls dancing in bikinis or less
