Ofcom will be relieved that the world's most famous porn tube site will be brining its websites to the age/ID verification fold. For those stupid enough to hand over ID that can used to maintain a log of their porn viewing, the age/ID verification
will start by 24th July 2025. Surely it will be safer to continue porn viewing by using a VPN. Ofcom has announced that several major providers have agrees to bring in robust methods to check users' age/ID for the first time. Ofcom Writes:
By 25 July, all sites and apps that allow pornography -- whether they are dedicated adult sites or social media, search or gaming services -- must use highly effective age checks to ensure children are not normally
able to encounter it. Online firms who publish their own pornography are already required to protect children from it, and thousands of sites have already introduced robust age checks in response. Major porn providers operating in
the UK have confirmed to Ofcom that they will introduce effective checks by next month's deadline in order to comply with the new rules. They include PornHub, the most-visited pornographic service in the UK. Other services who are happy to be named at
this stage include BoyfriendTV, Cam4, FrolicMe, inxxx, Jerkmate, LiveHDCams, MyDirtyHobby, RedTube, Streamate, Stripchat, Tube8, and YouPorn. This represents a broad range of pornography services accessed in the UK. Monitoring
compliance with these new duties is a priority for Ofcom. If any company fails to comply with its new duties, Ofcom can impose fines and -- in very serious cases -- apply for a court order to prevent the site or app from being available in the UK.
As part of our work enforcing the Online Safety Act, we have already launched investigations into four porn providers and won't hesitate to take further action from July. Under 18s exposed to adult content Robust age checks are a
cornerstone of the Online Safety Act and will help protect children from harmful content. Under the Act, age assurance methods -- which include age verification, age estimation or a combination of both -- must be highly effective at correctly
determining whether a user is under 18. Highly effective age checks include credit card checks, open banking or facial age estimation. From 25 July, all social media, search and gaming sites and apps must prevent children in the
UK from encountering harmful content including suicide, self-harm and eating-disorder content. Tech firms will have to apply the safety measures set out in our Children's Codes, or take alternative action to meet their duties, to mitigate the risks that
their services pose to children. The riskiest services will have to use highly effective age assurance to identify which users are children. Any provider that operates a recommender system and poses a medium or high risk of
harmful content must configure their algorithms to filter out harmful content from children's feeds. The services named today have indicated that they plan to deploy a type of age assurance solution which Ofcom said could be
capable of being highly effective in our guidance. As we noted in our guidance, the way in which these solutions are implemented in practice will be the ultimate test of whether it is compliant with the OSA
Ofcom hasn't said much
about other major porn tube sites that are not mentioned in the list. In fact most of the tube sites listed are owned by Aylo. |

Adult content creators in Sweden are pushing back against new legislation that makes it illegal to buy online adult content. A repressive new law in Sweden that makes it illegal to buy custom adult content will take effect on July 1. The nasty
new law makes it so anyone who purchases online sexual content (sexual acts performed remotely with no physical contact) or operates a website that makes it easier to get in touch with adult content creators could be imprisoned for up to one year. Sweden's Injustice Minister, Gunnar Strommer threatened:
The idea is that anyone who buys sexual acts performed remotely should be penalised in the same way as those who buy sexual acts involving physical contact.
Swedish adult content creators told Euronews
Next that the government should reconsider the new law because it could push some of them to more unsafe types of content creation. The main concern is if OnlyFans starts blocking Swedish creators because they're afraid of being sued or accused of
pimping. The European Sex Workers Rights Alliance said there are risks that the police could be empowered to search phones, computers, and online accounts that are linked to the creation of online adult content. |

Labour MPs push for nasty law amendments to criminalise any Brits vaguely connected to sex work

Labour MPs are attempting to launch the most draconian clampdown on sex work devised in Britain in decades, campaigners have warned. Sex workers told Novara Media that the measures proposed by Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi could unjustly criminalise
their friends and family and put prostitutes' safety at risk. Antoniazzi, the Labour MP for Gower, has put forward two amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill, due to be discussed in parliament on Wednesday. Clause NC2 seeks to make it a
criminal offence to enable or profit from the prostitution of another person, including by operating a website hosting adverts for prostitution. This clause states it would be against the law for individuals to assist, facilitate, control, or incite
someone to engage in sexual activity for money or another form of benefit anywhere in the world. Clause NC3 seeks to outlaw buying, offering, or promising payment in exchange for sexual activity. The English Collective of Prostitutes (ECP), a
campaign group that supports sex workers, claims the clauses could criminalise anyone who associates with a sex worker -- workmates, drivers, web-makers, receptionists, friends, clients. The clauses would also criminalise the advertising sites which sex
workers depend on to work independently and in greater safety. The amendments to the legislation have gained the support of cross-party MPs, with Labour's Diane Abbott and Sarah Champion, as well as former Labour MP Rosie Duffield (now an independent)
among them. Niki Adams, a spokesperson for the ECP, said the amendments would force us [sex workers] to work in isolation and put us at much greater risk of attack and of violence. Although it is not illegal for individuals to buy or sell sex from
each other in England, Scotland and Wales, many activities associated with prostitution are unlawful, including a sex worker teaming up with another person or a group to protect their safety while working. Adams warned that the legislation could
lead to friends and family being targeted, as the amendments do not specify that the individual must profit from their sex work. |

article from ofcom.org.uk In June 2025 Ofcom announced an
investigation of the website saying: We have launched an investigation into whether First Time Videos LLC, which provides the pornographic services FTVGirls.com and FTVMilfs.com, has highly effective age assurance in
place to protect children from pornography. We will now gather and analyse evidence to determine whether any contraventions have occurred. If our assessment indicates compliance failures, we will issue provisional notices
of contravention to providers, who can then make representations on our findings, before we make our final decisions. We will provide updates on these investigations as soon as possible.

France has experienced a surge in virtual private network (VPN) signups after Aylo, which operates Pornhub, Redtube and YouPorn, cut off French access to those sites in the country in the wake of new age verification regulations. ProtonVPN reported a
1,000% rise in sign-up requests within 30 minutes of Aylo's decision to restrict access to its sites, while NordVPN reported a 170% jump in usage. Overall VPN demand in France jumped 334% compared to the previous month. Similar spikes in VPN use
occurred in Utah, Texas, and Florida when Aylo blocked access to Pornhub in those U.S. states after each passed similar AV legislation. Adult platforms operating in France had a deadline of June 7 to comply with the country's new AV rules under
the Security and Regulation of the Digital Space (SREN) law. |

The European Commission announced Monday that it is opening investigations into the adult platforms Pornhub, XVideos, XNXX and Stripchat for what the European Union's executive branch characterizes as suspected breaches of key age assurances provisions
in the Digital Services Act (DSA). According to the commission, investigations into all four of the above platforms focus on potential risks posed to minors of the European Union's member states, but also the absence of effective age verification
measures. Initial findings prompting the investigation determined that the platforms currently do not comply with age-appropriate design and mitigation measures and risk assessment, and ensuring a high level of privacy, safety, and security for minors,
in particular with age verification tools. The European Commission also announced that it has reclassified Stripchat, a popular streaming platform with an operational base in Cyprus, as no longer being a very large online platform (VLOP). The DSA
defines a VLOP as an online platform with over 45 million users across E.U. member states. Pornhub self blocks French users
Aylo, the company owning the pornhub websites responded to this EU move and to local French censorship demands by self blocking itself from users in France. Reports of a surge in VPN use Inevitably there will be an
uptick in French users resorting to VPNs. Swiss privacy software maker Proton suggested in a post on X that it's seen a surge in people using its VPN software in France, presumably in a bid to circumvent the porn blocks. VPN services are software
tools that create a secure, encrypted tunnel which allows users to hide their IP address - effectively masking their location from websites and service providers seeking to block their users. In response , French Digital Minister Clara Chappaz posted
to her followers on X: If Aylo prefers to leave France than apply our laws, thats up to them. Chappaz admitted it's possible to bypass age verification on pornographic platforms by using a VPN,
adding: There will always be a way to circumvent [blocked content], but it [the law] makes it much harder
A statement from Pornhub Pornhub have explained the
reasons for the self blocking in a statement by Alex Kekesi, VP Brand and Community, on behalf of Aylo:
We've made the difficult decision to suspend access to our sites (user-uploaded content platforms, including Pornhub, YouPorn, Redtube) in France and instead use our platforms to speak directly to the French people. French
citizens deserve a government and a regulator who are serious about preventing children from accessing adult content. They also deserve laws which protect their privacy and safeguard their sensitive data. For years, we have
attempted to collaborate with the government, by consultation, data sharing and offering pilot project participation. The results of all of this have been clear 203 site-based age verification does not work. It does not protect children, and it exposes
the data of millions of French people to privacy breaches and hacks. Your government won't tell you the truth about this, but we will. There is a simple, easy-to-implement and immediately available solution
to this issue 203 device-based age verification*. All it requires is that the government enforce regulations on three companies 203 Apple, Google and Microsoft 203 the three operating system manufacturers requiring age verification at the device level
prior to accessing adult content. The French government refuses to take this simple step and instead are focused on futile and entirely symbolic regulatory actions which are unenforceable, do not protect children and expose your private data.
As of June 4, 2025, millions of consenting adults in France will no longer be able to access our library of thoroughly moderated and consensual adult entertainment on one of the most trusted adult sites in the world 203 a site that,
we believe, is better at safeguarding its community than any other user generated content platform, including mainstream social media platforms. Sites like ours, which host legal and regulated porn will no longer be available in France, but thousands of
irresponsible porn sites will still be easy to access. We know people will not stop looking for porn. They just migrate to hundreds of thousands unsafe platforms that have not only chosen to be non-compliant, but also have far
fewer, if any, Trust and Safety policies in place. In effect, all data indicates that these laws have just diverted traffic to dangerous websites that have made the conscious decision to act illegally. The way France has chosen to implement age
verification is ineffective, haphazard and dangerous. You deserve real solutions to stop minors from accessing adult content. We want to be part of that solution. But this symbolic law will do nothing to protect children. Demand
that your government have the courage to get this right.

Swedish government proposes to criminalise men who pay adult cammers and OnlyFans performers

petition from eswalliance.org |
Repressive Swedish law currently criminalizes purchasing or procuring in-person sexual services but does not criminalize sex workers who provide such services. This approach is commonly referred to as the Nordic model. Under the new proposal,
anyone who pays someone to perform a sexual act online, without actual physical contact, would be subject to the same criminal liability as those who hire in-person sex workers. The proposal also includes liability for procuring such services, which
could lead to enforcement against fan and webcam platforms, or conceivably even against creators who collaborate together. Swedish creators have expressed concern that, under the proposed law, OnlyFans' terms of service could preclude Swedish
creators from using the site -- and could even criminalize their personal lives, since living with a partner or receiving support could now be considered pimping. The ESWA, a sex worker-led network representing more than 100 organizations in 30
countries across Europe and Central Asia, told XBIZ that it has launched a public petition urging the Swedish government to reject this proposal. The group writes: This proposal represents a regressive and dangerous
step that threatens the human rights, privacy, safety and livelihoods of sex workers and digital creators in Sweden and beyond. Websites and platforms hosting or facilitating consensual digital sex work could be prosecuted for 'digital pimping' creating
a chilling effect that may lead to mass deplatforming of sex workers. The ESWA is urging anyone who supports Swedish sex workers to add their name to the open letter. See

Ofcom has commenced investigations into two pornographic services - Itai Tech Ltd and Score Internet Group LLC - under our age assurance enforcement programme. Under the Online Safety Act, online services must ensure children
cannot access pornographic content on their sites. In January, we wrote to online services that display or publish their own pornographic content to explain that the requirements for them to have highly effective age checks in place to protect children
had come into force. We requested details of services' plans for complying, along with an implementation timeline and a named point of contact. Encouragingly, many services confirmed that they are implementing, or have plans to
implement, age assurance on around 1,300 sites. A small number of services chose to block UK users from accessing their sites, rather than putting age checks in place. Certain services failed to respond to our request and have not
taken any steps to implement highly effective age assurance to protect children from pornography.
We are today opening investigations into Itai Tech Ltd - a service which runs the nudification site Undress.cc - and Score Internet Group LLC, which runs the site Scoreland.com. Both sites appear to have no highly effective age assurance in place and are
potentially in breach of the Online Safety Act and their duties to protect children from pornography. Next steps We will provide an update on both investigations on our website in due course, along with details of any further
investigations launched under this enforcement programme
